Located in Hammer, a smill 'village' of mostly apartments and b&b's. You can start a few nice walks right from the apartment. The room itself has most basic amenities and was clean when we got there. The bed is nice and soft. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay in the area.

The apartment smelled badly when we arrived. The reason: there is NO ventilation in the rooms. Not in the bathroom (lots of moisture when showering and the smell when using the toilet keeps haning around), nor in the sleeping room, which also had the kitchen. There is not even an extractor hood above the cooking pit, so the good AND bad smells of cooking remain in the room. Add to that the smell of sleeping people, and you can imagine what it smelled like when we got there. We opened the windows for a couple hours, but with freezing temperatures that wasn't the most comfortable thing. Also the floor heating in the main room seems broken, giving you cold feet. I would say that in summer when that doesn't matter and you can open the windows all day and night, the apartment is totally fine.

Small threshold in the shower keeps te water from flowing away. No big problem, as the underfloor heating makes it vaporise very quickly.

It was very spacious, much bigger than I expected! absolutely beautiful views and very quiet which we all loved.

The view from the appartment was stunning & surroundings were peaceful as well as quiet. All to be seen while laying on a great bed made for a nice experience.

The hygene was not up to our expectations. The tableware was not very clean when we arrived & certain corners & surfaces were covered in dust

Very quiet location. Excellent for hiking hollidays, either straight from the appartment or from Rurberg. For food you should go to Rewe in Simmerath. All nearby cafes where in holliday, so no recommendations there. Appartment was very clean, older building but well maintained.

The view from this place is just wonderful. The surroundings are very peaceful with almost only nature around. We really appreciated how clean it was and how well equipped the kitchen was. Given that there is not much in the immediate surroundings and we travelled by foot and bike we enjoyed making our meals in this nicely equipped kitchen.

The only little thing I can think of was the shower, the water was spilled outside the cabin and floor remained wet.

This was our first trip planned after long COVID travel break. We all were very excited about it. And the stay at Rurtalapartment meet all our expectations. The house was located at a quite place surrounded by hills. The ambience was nice. There were many trails to walk along and kids enjoyed the walks through the hills very much, Overall it was a very nice vacation. Thanks Rurtalapartment.

The location, surrounded by woods, very quiet.

The apartment was very dirty, the floors had not been washed in weeks, we traveled with a toddler and after 2 min on the floor his hands were brown and his trousers full of dust. We needed to desinfect the floors and the shower. The towels were all broken and old... A pity because the apartments are new and the location is fantastic, but several "neighbours" complained about the same.

Wifi is public, it works quite good. But it is not really secure.

It is a minor issue, but the stove was not powerful enough for cooking.

Except the bad sofabed the studio is very nice and well equipped. But you need to be very mobile as it 60 steps up one way to get at the studio. If you have many luggage it a real challenge 🙂

Unfortunately a very bad sofabed to sleep on, i stayed 13 days and luckily I had an air mattress with me... The mattress is worthless but the lady told me in August new bed is coming? Sleeping sofa wil go out, despite that I will not book anymore with cancell periode up to 14 days as the weather in Simmerath was bad during my holidays. Cold and rainy 75% from my stay 🤷‍♂️
