What a beautiful and cosy place! We absolutely loved staying here, and Julie (the owner) was just phenomenal. Would love to stay here again! We'd originally planned fo drive down and ended up getting the train. Got a taxi from Stoke Station and it was quite easy to get to. Went for a walk in the area (see photos) and it was so picturesque and breathtaking.

It took us a moment to realise which building was Higherlands when we first arrived, but if you're not silly and look at the address and photos, you'll find it much faster than we did!

The whole experience of staying at Higherlands was brilliant from start to finish. The facilities were all exceptional. The accommodation was very nicely presented and clean. Julie was very accommadating from start to finish. She allowed me to check in early and even offered me a taxi service to and from a function which I had in the area that day. I felt Julie went above and beyond for me and her prices were more than value for money.The breakfast was very tasty and cooked to perfection. I would definitely return and encourage others to stay at higherlands.

Julie was very welcoming and made us a lovely cuppa on arrival and again after breakfast the next day. Lovely hostess with the right measure of friendlyness and helpfullness whilst letting us go about getting ready for our nearby wedding. Lovely chat after breakfast and the added touch of water bottle and snack bar was very welcome for the journey home.

The property has a very warm, welcoming aura as soon as you walk in. it is very clean and our room was large with a shower room attached. The bed was so comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep. nothing was too much trouble for Julie, she recommended a lovely restaurant, booked the table for us and even took us and brought us back! She made us a cooked breakfast the next morning which set us up for the rest of. the day. Such a lovely, warm lady

The warm welcome of the owner, Julie . She went above and beyond what we expected. She drove and collected us to and from our evening meal. Cooked us an amazing breakfast. The room was very comfortable. And everywhere was spice and span . We would definitely recommend a stay at Highlands .

After an extremely exhausting day out at Alton Towers, checking into Higherlands was such a pleasant experience. Starting off with convenient and safe parking directly outside the property, and then an extremely warm welcome from the host Julie, made us feel instantly comfortable. Our room was immaculately clean and spacious, and had such a homely feel to it. We slept well and were full refreshed ready for a second day at Alton Towers. Would absolutely recommend Higherlands for your stay and have definitely found our hidden gem for our next visit. Thank you Julie for everything!

nice little village. The pool table in the bedroom was awesome for me but my partner didn't get the same excitement from it. Julie was very helpful for pointing out were to have something to eat and was just generally very lovely.

nothing really close enough to walk to i.e restaurant/pub so had to drive as we were starving and didn't want to wait for a taxi. and could maybe do with a tv in the room but it was still a lovely stay

Julie was an excellent host who placed our enjoyment at the top of her priorities. Not only was the house exactly as advertised and clean, she went above and beyond. She even dropped us off and picked us up from the wedding venue. On top of this she was very accomodating due to the fact me and my partner are vegan/vegetarian and the breakfast was all to our dietary requirements. Excellent stay and I would highly recommend!
