Accommodation was spacious, stylish and comfortable. Location involved some walking to get to central Funchal but we were quite happy to do this. Our holiday was very relaxing and enjoyable. We wished we had been staying a few days longer.

Had a great time with my daughter in Madeira. We enjoyed the beautiful and super spacious apartment, with beautiful views and fully equipped. Very convenient with private parking for our rental car. Frederica is incredibly helpful - we really appreciated the groceries in the fridge. Additional advantage - the apartment is within walking distance of a lovely swimming pool, perfect for relaxing after a nice walk. We will gladly come back again!

I give the very top rating to this spacious, well-designed penthouse apartment that is filled with light from windows on 3 sides. It is beautifully decorated and very clean. It is well equipped for self housekeeping and the hostess kindly provided some initial foods until we could shop. The view of the ocean from the balcony is beautiful. Windows can be kept wide open as there seem to be no flying insects to come in. It is the perfect spot to relax and unwind.

Had great communication with Fredrickia from the start . Both herself & her husband where there waiting for us on arrival . Apartment exactly as advertised, spotlessly clean and a lot bigger than in the photos . Beautiful welcome pack that had great essentials in as we arrived late at night saved us going out . Cannot fault the apartment plenty big enough for 2 couples or a family of four . Lots of restaurants & bars close to the apartment within walking distance , wear flats as everywhere you go is either up or down a hill . Easy to get a bus into town center, we got a 5 day pass and could use it anytime , saved a lot of walking . Plenty to do & see within short distance so no long journeys or expensive taxi rides. All in a really lovely holiday apartment & Fredrickia could not fault . Nothing too much trouble , just a txt away . I unfortunately ended up with blisters first day from new sandals & asked did have anything in the apartment that could help ? Replied within minutes to tell where the first aid box was in the apartment and everything that was needed was in the box . Only draw back I would mention is it’s quite a busy road below the apartment so if you are a light sleeper bring some ear plugs . All in all really happy with our stay and thank you to Fredrickia & husband for making us so welcome & accommodating us in your beautiful apartment . Linda & Richard

What a fabulous apartment with outstanding views across the sea. The apartment was very spacious extremely well presented clean and tidy with lots of attention to detail. Frederica was an excellent host leaving us a food welcome pack and chatting to us about the trips we wanted to do and arranging our airport taxis. The property had a beautiful view, was quiet, and had a wonderful breeze, making the apartment cool even on the rare hot or muggy day. Frederica, our host, was always helpful, starting with the orientation to the property and leaving a welcome package of food, to dealing with any small glitches in the complex, to helping arrange transportation to the airport. I would not hesitate to rebook this apartment upon returning to Madeira.

Federica could not have been more helpful on arrival was waiting for us & explained everything the welcome pack was an unexpected bonus with everything we needed to start the holiday. the apartment is a short walk to lots of local restaurants & bars but very quiet at night looking forward to coming back in the near future

Frederica made us very welcome, the apartment was very spacious and the location was ideal for us. The kitchen was well stocked with all mod cons. Plenty of restaurants nearby when we chose to eat out. Super parking spot in the basement. I can thoroughly recommend staying here. Thank you Frederica.

Have just had a wonderful three week at this apartment which was fantastic. Frederica is very welcoming and has thought of everything. It is so spacious, spotless, beautifully furnished and has wonderful views of the sea. The location is great too, plenty of great places to eat and only a short walk to the sea and supermarkets should you need them. Faultless, we highly recommend it!

My partner and I stayed here for a month whilst working remotely. The apartment is huge and very comfortable, the view was the highlight for us, it's incredible. The location was great, so many different cafes and restaurants all within walking distance (try out Indian Palace if you like Indian curries, the best we've ever had!). Frederica is a very helpful host, makes you feel very welcome and always wants to help you out asap if you have any issues. The only negative for us was the WiFi as it doesn't work at all in the main bedroom and it's weak in the 2nd bedroom so it limited what we could watch in the evenings and where we could work. Other than that it was an amazing stay and we'd love to go back one day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks in this fantastic apartment. It is spacious with an airy feel due to the high ceilings. The gracious check-in with Frederica & her husband allowed for us to settle-into the apartment quickly. And, we much appreciated the welcome basket they had prepared for us. Overall the apartment is well appointed and in a terrific location. A good variety of restaurants and pubs are within easy walking distance. The sea view is spectacular. The balcony lends itself to gently starting the morning with a coffee and plenty of sunshine.

Lovely huge and clean apartment, owner very friendly and helpful

The host is amazing, a great communicator and she also provided us with a fantastic welcome package of food and drink!! The location of this beautiful, roomy, homey flat cannot be beat. We were able to walk to so many places. Bus transportation was also right there near the apt.. Will stay there again for any future trips if it is available. Only able to rate up to five stars but if able I would rate our stay a 10+.

The other reviews do not exaggerate. The apartment is ideally situated near the Lido with all its restaurants and shops, but slightly uphill in a quieter road, with a lovely sea view from the balcony. It is very large, airy and comfortable, more like someone’s home than a holiday letting, with many pictures on the wall and beautiful flowers. The welcome from Frederica and her husband was warm and friendly, and she told us all we needed to know about the facilities. When there was a minor problem with the hot water she came within an hour and sorted it out. I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. It will be our first choice for future visits to Madeira.

One of the first things that attracted my attention to this property on the HomeAway site was the number of complimentary reviews from previous guests. I am now extremely happy to be able to add my own happy comments. Communication with Frederica was easy and excellent from the time of booking until the end of our stay. She welcomed us on arrival at the apartment and our first reaction was WOW! It’s a beautiful, large apartment, tastefully decorated and well equipped with so many thoughtful touches. We so appreciated Frederica’s kindness in supplying some essentials and treats to welcome us. The view from the balcony gives a great view of the ocean and the area was quiet, yet in easy reach of bus stops and supermarkets. I would highly recommend Frederica’s apartment to anyone looking to holiday on the beautiful island of Madeira.

Wonderful property, absolutely massive, with lovely antique furniture, but with every modern convenience you could want, and more. The friendly owner, Frederica, met us at the apartment with her husband, having arranged our taxi transfer from the airport (and she also arranged for the same driver to bring us back to the airport at the end of our holiday!), and gave us a tour of the apartment, and showed us where everything was, and how things worked, etc. She was available at the end of the phone if we had any issues. The toaster broke down one day, with a new one delivered almost immediately. We were also provided with a welcome pack on arrival, which had a great selection of food/drink - including fruit, bread, wine, cheese, cold meats, and much, much more. There were only the 2 of us, and I'm sure we could probably have got somewhere cheaper, but we liked the look of it on the website, and loved having the extra space (having 2 bathrooms was great also!). The kitchen was really well-equipped, with loads of cleaning products, etc, and also toiletries for our use. Loads of spare linen towels, available also. There is a parking space available, for anyone who wants to drive whilst on the island. All in all, a great place to stay, and we are already thinking of planning a return trip, and staying there. Would recommend it highly !

Frederica warmly welcomed us to her beautiful penthouse apartment. It is as far removed from standard 'holiday flats' as it is possible to imagine. Beautifully airy spacious and well appointed it was the perfect place for our 12 days in Madeira. She provided an excellent welcome pack and so much else was provided (multiple towels including huge beach towels). The location was great with lots of amenities close by. We had a car (easily parked in the allocated underground parking place) but the very regular bus to central Funchal was just outside the door for any non drivers. We recommend it 100% and definitely will be back.

What an amazing find..... Frederica was here waiting for us when we arrived and showed us how and where everything was. Such a welcome with the food, fruit and wine, a nice thoughtful touch. The apartment is very comfortable with all the facilities which you need, we stayed for 10 days and enjoyed breakfast on the balcony in the morning and drinks and a read at night. The fresh flowers around the apartment are a lovely touch too. We would highly recommend the restaurant, Dragoeiro, turn left out of the apartment and about a 5 minute walk until you come to the junction and it’s opposite, book a table though. We ate there quite a few times and the food and staff were wonderful and they do fish and meat dishes. Thanks once again Frederica and I’m sure we will be back.

The apartment is exactly as described and pictured on the website. Frederica welcomed us even though we arrived quite late in Madeira. The food and drink provided were most welcome. We really enjoyed our holiday in the Sea View apartment which has everything you could possibly want or need with lots of extra touches I have not found in other holiday apartments. I would unreservedly recommend this apartment for a lovely holiday in Madeira. Thank you very much Frederica.

This was the best vrbo experience we've had yet! Frederica is wonderful, she responded to emails and text messages almost immediately and was there waiting for us on time at the apartment! She even left us fresh fruit, bread, butter, and a bottle of wine in the kitchen! The apartment itself was very spacious and comfortable, plus conveniently located very close to the water and beach! I would recommend this apartment rental to anyone!

Thoroughly enjoyed this apartment. Frederica was excellent throughout. Helping us with taxis and advice about the area. Quick to respond when we had questions. The apartment was huge and airy. We really enjoyed the balcony. Great location. Easy to join tours and Levada walks. We used Happy Tours seeing recommendations below and really enjoyed them. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. One of our favourite was less than 5 min walk away, an Argentinian steakhouse called La Vaca Negra. We walked in and back to the centre of Funchal several times which also had great restaurants.

My friend & I recently stayed at this apartment for 10 days (June 2018). We couldn't believe how spacious it was and very well kept! Frederica was a very considerate host and left us lots of goodies, ie. fruit, milk, bread etc.The kitchen is completely equipped for any meal you may wish to make. The apartment is only a few minutes walk to a lovely bakery and about 10 mins walk to many restaurants, downhill, but very managable. Can take 20-30 mins to walk into the centre of Funchal, but after a long walk & heat you would probably want to get the bus back, as quite a long hill coming out of Funchal itself, the 04 stops close to the apartment. We went on some tours of the island, which were fabulous, some of the scenery was spectacular, seen in one case from just under 2000 metres high! We used the tour company called 'Happy Tours' who used mini buses, which were completely fine & the charge for the full day ones was 20 Euros, whilst the companies using coaches charged 30 Euros. You will find them as you go down the hill to the right just a few shops in. We would highly recommend this apartment & if we ever went to Madeira again would definitely request to stay here. Some of our friends have already shown interest.
