Upon arrival Ms Lourdes was there to give us they keys and escort us to the property immediately. The house appeared very clean at the outset and there was also everything you might need in terms of facilities at the villa - pots, pans, huge fridge, large shower heads, towels, kettle, spices, iron, ironing board, bikes, BBQ pit, and more!

There were things that didn't work well at all - the drain in the master bedroom shower doesn't drain well at all, the dishwasher was having some issues, the heavy umbrella outside wasn't well attached at the base (it blew off and fell in the pool at a strong burst of wind) - thankfully our children weren't out by the pool at the time but could've been a dangerous risk otherwise, the large bed in the second bedroom upstairs and also the singles downstairs are old and were very uncomfortable to sleep on and should definitely be replaced. In terms of the location, the town itself is extremely remote and there are few places to eat and also to buy all the things you might need (we didn't find coal for the BBQ until the day before we were about to leave). While the beach itself was lovely and close by, we were scared off from returning after one day when we were approached and surrounded by a barking group of wild dogs. It was a frightening experience as we were with three children under the age of three and we didn't return to the beach after that. There was also a dead bird which seems to have been caught by the drain and the ground out by the pool which was being eaten by ants. We stayed away from it and kept our children away from it too but it was unsightly to look at all week and you would've thought his was something the cleaning crew would've noticed. As Ms Lourdes gave us very limited details about the house (she provided the key and WiFi details only) it would be useful if there was a booklet listing the issues with the property and helpful instructions about how to use / troubleshoot issues within the property as well as local advice would be helpful too. Otherwise, you learn as you go, which wasn't great in many respects.
