Excellent breakfast, very clean, lovely staff

I walked to Goyt Valley. I like the local scenery. The Guest House was all as good as anyone could wish for! Breakfasts were reasonably good too.

Lovely room. Very comfortable and absolutely fabulous breakfast cooked to a tee. All the amenities were in the room. Some very nice touches including toiletries, cotton wool, tissues, chocolate and tea/coffee making facilities. Room was spotlessly clean and bed was comfortable. Lot of information in the room recommending local restaurants and places to go.

Not really a criticism as the experience was really good, but times for breakfast and room cleaning appeared to be fixed (other places will be set between 8am-10 am), which may not suit everyone taste if they want to be more relaxed. Breakfast was set at 9am and the owners did check with us the night before regards the time. Whilst it meant that we had to be at breakfast at the exact time, the breakfast was cooked to perfection. Similar experience on Sunday as at 9.03am we had a knock on the door to remind us to come down for breakfast as it was ready. A half an hour after breakfast on Saturday we were disturbed by Roger the owner knocking on the door to tell us that the room needed to be cleaned. Slightly disgruntled partner as a result, as it was a horribly wet morning outside and we were in the middle of watching England V New Zealand playing the semi final of the Rugby World Cup. Appreciate that it was possibly to accommodate staff and Roger did however change things around so other rooms were cleaned first. A slightly more relaxed attitude may be helpful as we did feel as we did feel at times like we were on the clock.

Great friendly host and breakfast! The house is very well maintained, sparkling clean and gives you a homey feeling. Although it is 15 min walk from the city centre, it is close the bus stop that brings you to other parts of Peak District and very close to many great restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay!

Bathroom is a little small but is acturately reflected in the pictures so we knew about this before booking.
