A great place to unplug and spend some quiet outdoors family time. Small but perfect

This chalet was the perfect size for our group of 5 we had. The little pond was the perfect size to relax by and spend some time on the water. Loved the paths around the pond to explore, perfect location for state parks in the area! Would recommend this to anyone, host was responsive and helped us with the damper on the fireplace!

Very different from the pictures. The chalet is not clean at all. The kitchen was so sticky. The whole place is Extremely out dated. The "lake" is a glorified pond very small and don't let the pictures fool you it is not secluded the reality office is right beside the chalet and very close to the main road. And if you do decided to go to the pond to kayak take your own life jackets the ones they provide are in a bin uncovered by the water and covered with bugs I was stung by a wasp trying to put one on. It's not worth 100$ let alone 600. Very disappointed we love staying in Davis every year but never this place again.

The location is fantastic. Communication was great and easy. The place is gorgeous but requires a lot more cleaning and hygiene. I’d stay here again but I would urge the managers to have higher standards for cleaning.

We wanted to stay in the mountains for a different kind of vacation. We had a great experience. The check in was easy, the lady was very pleasant and helpful with ideas and suggestions. The house was magnificent. So neat and clean. It was like being at home without the noise and neighbors. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, and grilling! We will definitely stay there again!

This 1974 chalet was our winter home base for a 3 day weekend. The space is cozy but lacks modernity. Little appears to have been updated within the past 20 years. The fireplace was wonderful, but we found the kitchen lackluster and small. The home is centrally located in the valley and sits on a little pond. We found several unappetizing bug traps. If you have a chance we wound not recommend spending your money visiting this property. We would recommend the owners reduce the cost.

The furniture & appliances were outdated. Sofas had an old smell to them. May need cleaning or upholstered. Overall, very clean.

The property and surrounding areas were beautiful. The chalet was very clean, well stocked amd super cute. The lake was wonderful with access to kayaks and canoes to make a fun trip even better.

Not quite as advertised
The pictures of this property certainly make it seem like a chalet secluded in the woods on a lake. The reality is that you are surrounded by other houses, the rental office is literally right next to you, and there is a ton of road noise. Not at all secluded. In addition, the chairs on the front deck are not comfortable enough to spend any kind of time there, and the twin beds are too hard to sleep on.
That being said, this would be an awesome place to vacation for a family with small kids. The closeness of the water activities to the house, etc. I would return here with small or school age kids in a heart beat. Definitely needs some improvement on the accuracy of the location and on some furnishings though.

Wrong time of year
Property was nice but... No one said half the town would be closed, kayaks wouldn't be availably, very little to do before memorial day. May have been exceptional at another time of year, but not in early/mid may

Great cabin for relaxation!
We stayed here for a quiet get-away and were happy with our stay. The communication with the host was great as was the after hours check-in process. The lake makes for a beautiful view out the front windows and deck. Canaan Valley is beautiful!

Super cute with a great view
Great little cabin perfect for the weekend with our little family. Loved waking up to the views of the lake just out front. Everything was perfectly clean inside and out. Kitchen well stocked for actual cooking which is super nice when you have kids. Beds were comfortable and clean. We had a great time even though it was cool and rainy. The lake looked like it would be fun for fishing and paddle boats. We would definitely stay here again.

Great stay
Cabin was clean and very spacious for a family of 5. Young adult “kids” enjoyed theirbown area upstairs with plenty of sleeping space. The view is spectacular. Love sitting on the deck with coffee in the morning as the fog lifts from mountains.

Such a relaxing time,enjoyed the coziness of the chalet. Loved having my morning coffee in the hot tub. Loved the Canaan valley,enjoyed Dolly sods, blackwater falls,Lendys point,and the shopping in Thomas. The bed is in need of a new mattress,and not alot of channels available to watch on tv. We did bring DVD movies with us. We would definitely come again and stay in the chalet. So adorable.

Overall great time
My family really enjoyed staying at mirror lake. Having the lake and kayaks, SUPs and canoe right there was great. Too bad our weather didn’t cooperate better!

Great summer getaway
Mirror lake was beautiful. 10 minutes to Davis and Blackwater Falls State Park. Lovely terrain and much cooler in August than our hometown of Richmond, which was experiencing a heat wave at the time. The spruce-fir forest at BWFSP was just right. Not too hard to hike. We would have moved in if we could have! Stay away from route 33 if you are coming from Richmond or points east, the road has many hairpin turns at the Va / WV border. Good for motorcycles if you are an experienced rider.

Maybe it’s just the area
Water pressure coming and goes, there was a note in the property that this is normal. Bed was not supportive, squeaky and likely needs replaced. The checkout was not great, as we were required to do have laundry drying. maybe this is normal for VRBO but with the heigh cleaning fee it seemed out of place. Our prior outing we used Airbnb and had less check out requirements and less cleaning fee.

Really enjoyed our stay
Two of us rented the house and both of us would stay here again. The hot tub was a great amenity and so was DISH TV. The queen bed was the only issue- it’s *extremely* soft so neither of us slept in it. The four twin beds up the spiral staircase are firmer and more comfortable. We wish we could’ve stayed longer!

A great getaway
My partner and I have not had an opportunity to go on a trip since our wedding 2 years ago. This was a welcome getaway. The cabin overlooking the small lake made it feel like you had it to yourself. There were so many beautiful outdoor activities such as hiking, sledding, and I got to try cross-country skiing for the first time! Getting in the hot tub after a long ski day while the snow was falling was just icing on the cake. Accommodations were nice and comfortable and made me feel at home.

Chalet is an outstanding little property. The home was very clean, updated, and provided everything you could need. Great ambiance. Simple booking and check-in. Easy access and close to Blackwater and Canaan. Would definitely stay here again and plan to in the near future.

Sweet family getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cute little A-frame cabin! The location was perfect for accessing Canaan Valley State Park, Blackwater Falls & the towns of Davis & Thomas. The cabin was clean, cozy and had all the basic amenities. We loved having a hot tub, especially after hitting the slopes! Check in and check out were easy & the grounds near the cabin were lovely to explore. Will definitely book again should we ever come back to Tucker County!
