We really enjoyed our stay at Calcutta Bungalow. It was a little oasis of calmness and serenity compared to the crazy busy Kolkatta. The beds were super comfortable, the room was spacious and tastefully decorated and modernly refurbished, and the whole hotel was so quiet, beautifully decorated with lights and designer decorations. We loved how much character this boutique hotel has, balancing perfectly the unique vibes and old spirit of India and the modern designs and facilities. The rooftop is beautiful and quiet.
Special thanks to the staff who were super helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was also amazing.
We communicated our arrival time considering our delay but our room was still not ready for some reason.
We did not get any cleaning service during a 4-day stay

really beautiful property and tastefully designed rooms. we loved the staff, they went above and beyond to make our stay great. they cooked up a lovely delicious meal after arriving late. very good breakfast too. special shout out to Mono who went above and beyond!

Beautiful heritage Hotel 30 mins taxi from centre.
The staff were excellent as my appointed room was on the top floor, no lift. Being 79 years old, this was impossible for me. Also the restaurant was upstairs. However, other guests kindly agreed to swap and breakfast was served in a communal area on the ground floor. All the staff were very helpful to assist me.

every single aspect of this place. out of the 1000's of rooms in India on site for rent, this was the only one that stood out.
great for us, as we choose the hotel over location. unfortunately, there are not more such gems.

Loved every moment I spent at the CB. My flight landed at 8:00 AM so I was at the hotel by 9:00 AM, but they let me check-in my room without any additional charge. The staff was so nice. Especially Wasim, who has been cordial since the very beginning and took amazing photographs at all the aesthetic spots. The bengali breakfast the next day was so fullfiling as well.
The only negative thing is the location. It is so distant from new market, sightseeing spots, malls etc that a large number of time was spent on the road. You can't find local cabs roaming around as much as the other tourist spots and relying on Uber was time consuming as well. If anyone is in Kolkata for shopping or sightseeing, I'd not recommend CB to them.

Super cute with antiques. Pretty big room with room service. Bathroom and tub was big. A lot of good lighting. AC was great!

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was charming. It was like stepping into the past with the historic decor and furnishings. The breakfast was relaxing up on the rooftop terrace. We were in Calcutta just 1 night / 1 day, and the staff helped us make the most of it by allowing us to store our extra luggage at the hotel while we took the day to sight-see after checking out. Upon returning to collect our luggage and wait a while before departing for our late night flight, we were able to hang out in the common spaces (they have several) with complimentary tea and full use of the hotel wifi.

It was a perfect gateway from the hustle and bustle of busy Kolkata. I had an amazing time and will be coming back if I ever come to Kolkata again.

a beautiful place to stay in the city with a very warm and welcoming team . delicious food and great attention to detail and design . extremely comfortable and cosy . unfortunately I was ill for my 3 days in Calcutta and spent most of my time in the room .. it was the perfect place to relax and sleep and recover and the team were very kind bringing drinks and checking on me . I hope to see more of the city on my next trip !

This was our second stay and it was fantastic. The rooms are full of character, the beds ultra comfortable and food is great. The staff are super helpful, they booked multiple tours for us and it was a real pleasure getting to know them. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The staff at Calcutta Bungalow especially Sujit & Wasim did an excellent job taking care of us. It is a beautiful property and we enjoyed our stay.
There is no elevator and our room was on the third floor and we had to take several sets of stairs to get to reception and restaurant.
The water in the shower was tepid which was later fixed. But it should have been ready before we came in.
