Nothing to not like.

Nice location on a quiet street. Walking distance to many things. The property is clean and simple. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had a room with 2 doubles and bunk beds, so could sleep 6. Small table/sitting area, and a kitchenette. It also had a small washer/dryer unit.

The wifi went in and out at times. It is a great place to stay if you are not looking for additional amenities like a pool/spa, concierge, or on site restaurant.

Having the in-room washer/dryer was convenient.

Limited dining options that didn’t require reservations around the hotel.

The hotel is a short walk from Karasuma Station which connected us to most places we wanted to go. The staff were exceptional! Special mention to Isaac who helped us with everything. The room was spacious, had a washer/dryer and everything you need. The hotel happily kept our luggage stored prior to check in, helped us with restaurant recommendations and organised our luggage transfer. There is a 7/11 on the corner and a fruit/veg shop nearby. We cooked in our room a couple of nights.

The beds are firm but I think that’s just Japan. The doonas are super, super comfy and cosy! The windows don’t open in the room which we would’ve liked.

The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. We missed our train back to the hotel for check out and we were told that we could have an extra few minutes to check out. The pokemon room was such a great experience too! Room was spacious and clean, great facilities with laundry.

A little on the pricey side for the pokemon room, but otherwise it was a great stay.

This hotel was centrally located and very easily accessible! The room we had was very large and was perfect for a family of 4, including 2 teens who each had their own bunk bed. The hotel was also located very close to public transportation and getting around Kyoto was a breeze. The hotel was very clean and located in a great neighborhood with a Family Mart in walking distance for last minute supplies and snacks. Highly recommend!

- Quiet area, but convenient. - pharmacy, convenience store, nice bakery, some restaurants nearby. - Taxis can find the place easily, stop at the entrance of the hotel.

We stayed in a Pokémon theme room which was really cute. The staff were extremely helpful. They helped me to book a reservation that I hadn’t been able to do myself.

Large room perfect for our family of 6.

Staff was excellent and room was perfect for our family of four. We loved having the washer/dryer and a small kitchen/refrigerator/microwave. It was also nice to have a small sitting area.

Beds and pillow were a bit uncomfortable.

The room was amazing. The layout was perfectly suited to our family, with bunk bed for ourboys. The staff at the front desk spoke English and many other languages which is very helpful. They were always there to assist if we had any questions or needed directions. I want to point out one of the staff in particular, it was our sons birthday good day with checked in. I rang ahead to ask if they could organise something small in the room for our arrival? Mayu organised an amazing cake, a small gift and decorations in the room which really made and sons birthday very special. Thankyou Mayu!

Everything!!! Rooms very clean, beautifully decorated, kitchen with all necessary for a family with kids, in a good location, plenty of free amenities, and the most kind and friendly staff! Mimaru hotel is the best! They even helped me waiving the cancellation fee of the other Mimaru unit in Tokyo, that I forgot to cancel before the date!
