Property was dated, but very well maintained and clean. Everyone from management to groundskeepers were awesome. I would like to say the location was Bad, so no one would book it ahead of us. It was awesome. No one window in this house didn't have an ocean view.

There in late July 2022 and we are aware of the seaweed but were hoping it had not affected this area as much. If not for the sargasso this would be an amazing place and a truly great beach for this area of no beaches. They really try very hard to clean the beach regularly but the stench will get you and make it not fun to swim into. The neighbors are sometimes included in the beach tractor cleanup and sometimes not. Even if this beach is clean the neighbor can have a 2-3 day buildup that makes it worse. We stayed in one just over the pool with an excellent view of the beach and ocean.
Great, friendly staff always cleaning and making it the best. Lovely pool that is well taken care of. Tons of info given at checkin for local guides, places to eat, etc. All the areas inside are small like the kitchen, 2 baths, eating area, bedrooms etc. TVs work great and AC nice and cold. The wrap-around enclosed porch is the best. Laundry downstairs was great thing to have. Kitchen is very nice though small, well stocked and with quality cookware. Be prepared for the stairs as the stairs from the ground floor up are narrow wood, then the stairs inside from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor bedrooms is very narrow, winding and a little wobbly. Lovely place and hope to return one day when we need a beach in this area.

We had a lovely time at the resort. Villa was very clean, I didn't even have to clean the kitchen top to bottom when we arrived! 🥳 There was a lot of sea grass while we stayed but once we got used to the scent it didn't bother us at all. Actually the only complaint we had was the tractors trying to clear the grass away. Why fight nature? Lol! We were very satisfied with all Coco Plum had to offer.

Vacation Ruined by Rotting Seaweed
The seaweed or seagrass (?) ruined our vacation. I want to be fair in my review. The owners cannot help nature! I just think that there needs to be more honesty for those of us who do not (did not) understand the Keys' ecosystem. In any picture provided of the beach/property, you do not see the piles of brown, VERY stinky seaweed that has washed ashore. It smelled so bad, we did not want to go outside. There was no way of walking on the water's edge unless you want to be ankle-deep (or maybe deeper)in brown, rotting vegetation. When I called the lady in the office the first night, she told me that they try to remove what they can with tractors. I did see a man on a tractor working the next few mornings, but he didn't put a dent in the problem. Later in the day, I saw opportunities that much of the brown seaweed could've been scooped up, when it was on the beach and not in the water. I didn't see them haul any of it off either. Maybe it's too expensive, but for what I paid to be ocean front, I would think it would be doable for them. A word of advice, educate yourself on when and where this foul-smelling grass/weed is present before forking out lots of money.
The spiral staircase is dangerous for the very young or for the older visitors. This was not a surprise though; it was pictured. I have never paid so much for ocean-front accommodations, and it might have been worth it IF we could have had time on the beach. But who cares about stepping out off the steps onto the beach and just being a few yards from the water when you cannot enjoy the beach or get in the water? On the positive side, The property was clean, and the staff was friendly. My son, daugher-in-law and grandson enjoyed the pool. It was a quiet area.

Everything perfect but the seagrass
Everything was just like we expected but it was very windy while we were there, and the seagrass was so thick that we couldn't walk into the ocean on the beach. They attempted to clean it away every day with a tractor, but it wasn't enough. But overall we really liked the place, and would possibly go back.

Family vacation
This was an amazing vacation! First time we’ve ever stayed beach front and we couldn’t have asked for a better place! The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the location was perfect! Quiet private beach was just what we hoped for and we can’t wait to go back again!! Highly recommend

Short Run in Marathon
Awesome stay in Marathon, great time and everything close. Great food and the trip to Key West was fantastic. Fishing was easy, people were great and we will go again to the same place.

Fantastic View and convenient for children.
We stayed in unit 3 with our kids ages 2,4&6. The view was absolutely amazing and it was so nice walking straight out to the beach or pool. It was totally worth it just for these benefits and we had a fantastic time.
I will say the unit isn't super new or modern, but everything is clean, functional and acceptable. The green carpet doesn't seem to be too warn, but is an odd color choice and we did need to vacuum about half way through the week because it showed dirty easily. I felt the unit was clean and we were comfortable staying there, but there were a few areas of deep cleaning that weren't perfect like some dust bunnies up inside the light fixture in the bathroom and a small amount of dust on the edge of base boards. This was nothing that bothered us at all, but I mention it incase someone is a super clean freak. We loved the passthrough window in the kitchen to the porch and played restaurant with the kids for every meal. We also appreciated the gate at the top of the stairs.
The area was great and our favorite activity was a snorkeling trip with Starfish. Definitely recommend! We really like to walk places and although there are trails everywhere there aren't many businesses or restaurants around that most would consider walkable. We walked to island fish company, but it was over a mile.
If you head down to the coco plum public beach access there is a trail just off the beach that is fun to explore as well as shallow areas with lots of little sea creatures (crabs, snails, horseshoe crabs) and we spotted a puffer fish and small shark. We found lots of sea life in the sea weed right outside our rental too. I even found a tiny seahorse. There is a fair amount of seaweed, but they clean it off the each day.
We had one small issue with a group of partiers being loud at night our first couple nights, but management was trying to address the issue and assured us this was not normal for this property. After they left it was a lot of families and everything resolved. Our kids loved playing in the pool with their new friends and the hot tub was really nice for times it got a little chilly. We stayed in March. Overall the weather was good we had one chilly night when we first arrived and the ocean seemed brisk, but even seemed to warm up by the end of the week. With the ocean, heated pool and hot tub you had lots of options for your temperature comfort.
Overall it was a great trip and we booked it again for next year!

Beachfront Villa WELL worth the extra cost!!!
Our view from villa 3 was absolutely AMAZING! We loved that we literally could walk down our deck to either the pool or the beach and that no other villa was looking into our windows. Our only negative (and for most people it would not be an issue) was that being that close to the pool and beach, when a rather loud family arrived, it totally ruined our peaceful escape. Again, just a personal preference-we wanted to escape the chaos of a loud family LOL. Prior to their arrival, we had the most quite and peaceful oaisis ever! Would definately visit again.

A home away from home
We had a wonderful visit. my only disappointment was that we were advertised that we would have the beach front villa. ours was up front but off to the side so our porches over looked the parking lot and other villa. the stay was great and the staff on site were very helpful and friendly.

Stay in paradise
We had a beachfront villa and it was amazing! The view was great, loved the resident iguanas. Place was clean and is being updated. Staff was very friendly! Enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. Glad we picked Cocoplum!

Nice quiet location
During my online rental I specifically chose unit 2 and was confirmed for that specific listing number. Upon checking in I was given number 1. Someone was already in my confirmed unit 2. I chose this unit because it was directly in front of the pool and ocean. I’m disappointed that you show the views from unit 2 and end up giving me unit 1. I believe this is called bait and switch. The property itself was beautiful except for the seaweed that was so abundant and deep that we were unable to get to the ocean.

Not having a kitchen on the same floor as the livingroom stunk and having the 2 bathrooms on the top floor only means if your at the pool or in the kitchen you must clumb 1 to 2 flight of stairs when you need to go. Also, the laundry being downstairs access outside of main unit was another inconvenience when your keeping up on laundry for a family. The bathrooms can barely fit ONE PERSON (im not exagerrating). Pros:Views were awesome and the porch overlooking the ocean was great. The beds were very comfortable.

Also...master shower water did not mix and seemed like the faucet had seen better days. It did not deter us..we used the other shower but needs attention. Overall fabulous view. Let belt beach except for seaweed which was beyond the control of Coco Plum — but they consistently worked at mitigating it every single day for hours with heavy equipment but Mother Nature won. It happens everywhere. We were impressed the property management made it a priority no matter how futile. We love the lower level space with washer dryer snd can store beach stuff snd not haul it up and down stairs every day. We will definitely be back.

Everything was outdated, furniture, oven, carpet, just old! It was clean and I did understand the layout visually but literally it was very inconvenient. Not having a kitchen on the same floor as the livingroom stunk and having the 2 bathrooms on the top floor only means if your at the pool or in the kitchen you must clumb 1 to 2 flight of stairs when you need to go. Also, the laundry being downstairs access outside of main unit was another inconvenience when your keeping up on laundry for a family. The bathrooms can barely fit ONE PERSON (im not exagerrating).

Unbeatable location! Some updates needed.
We stayed in unit 4, beachfront. The views were amazing. We were literally 20 steps from the beach (I counted)! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the property as a whole was very clean. Would have given it 5 stars if the unit had been in better shape.
When we checked in, the master toilet wouldn't flush (we called management and they immediately sent a plumber out to fix it). The fridge made an awful sound when the freezer turned on (if we opened and firmly shut the door to the freezer it would stop... briefly). The carpeting on the second floor needs to be ripped out (it was worn out and rather dirty). And the whole thing could use a spot of paint.
I am a clean freak, and I would rate the interior of the unit a 3. Surfaces were cleaned and the place was tidy, but the upstairs, which is the main living area, really needs some TLC-- a deep cleaning is needed.
All that said, we had a WONDERFUL time and I would definitely come back to Coco Plum, without hesitation!

Excellent stay
This place was wonderful for us... we were oceanfront there are alot of steps to climb!!! But well worth the stay... absolutely beautiful sun rises and your own private beach ... the weather was very chilly in the morning and evening but still a nice place to stay!!

Rented a beach front villa for 6 days, view was amazing but it does needs some remodeling. However, we did had a great time and enjoyed every second. Will definitely stay again.

Wonderful stay. Will definitely be back
The property was just as pictured. We had a beach front villa. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise every morning. We loved swimming in the pool while looking at the ocean. The accommodations were great. We had everything we needed. The staff was excellent - from the maintenance workers to the front desk. There were plenty of restaurants close to the villa as well as a grocery store. We drove to key west several times while we were there. It was about an hour drive. We can't wait to visit again and bring our kids.

Great property
We reserved the property to celebrate our 21st anniversary. Myself, my husband and our 2 children (ages 14 and 17) stayed in the villa with the ocean view. Due to COVID, we wanted a quiet and clean property where we didn't have to worry about the risk associated with large groups of visitors; this property provided exactly what we needed.
The private beach and the ocean view were highlights and we spent many hours on what felt like a secluded beach enjoying the amazing view. We rented a boat for a few days and the boat dock was easily accessible and no hassle. My kids enjoyed the pool, beach, jacuzzi and basketball court.
The property was clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

Cocoplum was an amazing experience. Postcard perfect, excellent location and all the amenities of home. Communication with our agent was easy and the accommodations were very clean.

GREAT LOCATION
Location was perfect. rooms definitely need updating but they were fine as-is. If you have a boat or a trailer this location is perfect. Pool was great. View was awesome. convenience was unmatched. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was wonderful! The property was exactly as described and was right on the private beach. The property was well maintained and the owners were very accommodating. Excellent, relaxing trip - we will be back!

It is what it is.
The people are friendly and do their best to make your experience enjoyable. The property is very dated (1970s) and desperately needs a remodel. The location is awesome, and it is easy to get around. My opinion is that this property is overpriced simply because the accommodations are so out of date. The tennis court and swimming pool are very modern and beach access is awesome.
