Location was great. Staff very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. Very clean. Plenty of parking.

Pillows weren’t comfortable, 2 was too many, 1 wasn’t enough. Shower could have been better. Aircon couldn’t get room as cool as I wanted (but I did visit during a heat wave). None of these would stop me from going back.

The room was very hot and we're not able to turn on the AC (Italian regulation) but the receptionist was very kind and offered a colder room.

There was free parking outside the hotel's front door.

The rooms don't have keys, instead you get a number to punch into a keypad, the noise made by the door buzzer when it opens is very loud. We were woken up everynight by other people buzzing into their rooms. I suggest ear plugs for those that are light sleepers. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk to the historical centre of Modena. It's a safe walk but not ideal when tired or raining or cold. The room also has a special system to save on electricity and lights we've not seen anywhere else. It's not very intuitive and we had to ask for help after we first accessed our room as we could not figure it out. There's a specific switch that if you accidentally touch it, it cancels all lighting and you have to go back out, close the door and enter the room code (see above) to launch the buzzer again. I assume this is very good for saving on electricity but it's not at all guest friendly. Another eco-friendly measure is that there is only one complimentary amenitie in the room and that's the all-in-one soap for hands, body and hair. There is no conditioner or body lotion, if your hair has special needs make sure you take your own as it's not very good. They sell everything in reception, it's like a shop, from slippers to shower cap to toothbrush, to ready-cooked risotto, to coffee to machine-made cocktails.

Antonella at check in was amazing. She was so friendly and welcoming and she proactively provided recommendations for restaurants, things to do in Modena, including balsamic, Parma cheese and ham facilities, etc. she is a very big asset to the hotel and to the guests. We needed parking and the free city parking on site was a great option for us. We were able to park directly in front of the hotel’s entrance for free without any issue. while we typically like to be more centrally located, we needed the parking and this was a good option for us with the center being a 20 - 25 minute walk.

The hotel is listed as having air conditioning and it does have air conditioning , but it was not available for use at the time we were there even though it was hot. we were told that they are not allowed to turn on the AC yet and I am not sure if this is a hotel or a government rule. Antonella did her best to accommodate us by providing a fan and by changing our room to a non west facing room. We appreciated Antonella making these extra efforts to make us as comfortable as possible within her he constraints she was working under, but the room was still quite warm.

The room was of good size, as well as bathroom and everything was clean. Overall, great place for overnight. The breakfast had some good options and coffee.

Some of the faucets in bathroom could be replaced and because of wood in the interior the room had distinct smell. It was a bad smell, just somewhat specific.

Breafast for 7 euro without even piece of tomato or any vegetable. I asked Staff od there is anything to eat like fruit or vegetable bu ufnortunately nothing. I needed to but it on the shop for myself. I found mold on the shower tube. There was no carpet on the corridor so I heard everybody walking next to my room. Connecttion to the garage was difficult.

This family owned hotel was home away from home. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good location.

Room is entirely wood panelling and dark; felt very claustrophobic. shower head in bathroom in need of repair so very little water. fine for a one night stay but I wouldn’t book for a relaxing holiday break
