Workers on the roof. The sound in the condo was deafening. Could not go up and rest during the day. Could not even hear each other when talking.

Worst stay at the beach

I reserved my condo (Castaways condo 9C managed by Gulfsands Rentals) in February. I arrived in Gulf Shores on Sunday May 1 and received an email that someone was going to inspect our balcony on Monday, no problem. We get out of the car and my son was freaking out saying he thinks a crime had been committed by the looks of the property also 2 dumpster were in the parking lot and caution tape around an area. We go to the elevator and there is a horrible chemical smell. We go up in the elevator and we hear this noise like a bar inside the door was loose. It scared us but we made it up. We get into the condo and there is a leak in the ceiling, mold on ceiling in kitchen and the AC was not working so we called and a repair man came that evening to fix AC. For the leaks we had to put a bowl in the floor to catch the water. My bed in the extra bedroom was wobbly. We tried to fix it by tightening the screws but it didn’t help. Monday was the only day I was going to be able to sleep later. The next morning at 8:30am, I woke this this very LOUD drilling sound coming from the roof. This continued till 8pm. I called and left 2 messages that I wanted to move maybe to a lower floor since we are in the top floor. They didn’t call me in the morning. I called again at 8:30 in the morning and a man answered. I preceded to tell him about the unbelievable noise from a drill. He said there is nothing we can do. I said can I move to a lower floor he said they were booked and they couldn’t anyway because each are owned by a different owner. I said you mean to tell me you have no solution. He said no. Why didn’t they let me know about this new roof? They knew about it before I got in my car and left my house on Sunday. They should have at least given me a choice to not come as a courtesy. My son is on the Autism spectrum. This is a nightmare. Noises really trigger him. He has started his tics really bad.

Love the area, view from balcony is amazing!

Hate the parking lot and that it only has one, Hot, elevator.

The location was perfect, the view was amazing, the rooms were clean, the pool was great, I’m definitely coming back.

The only thing I didn’t like, was he parking lot, it was too small and cramped up.

This is a very nice unit. The View is Spectacular. Very nice Amenities were very Nice. Extremely comfortable Bed. I regret not getting the Brand. Several Restaurants are within walking distance as well as the Public Beach. We will be back !

My only complaint is the Sign. It seems the owners could pitch in a Dollar or two to buy some letters for the entrance as it reads ..staways and is especially hard to see at night. Also would recommend a light of some sort.
