We loved Morley Cottage, the location is amazing you can see the harbour & Mrs Tishell’s Pharmacy from the lounge & bedroom window. Fab decor & lovely linen / towels / white robe. Lovely that it is also dog friendly. Communication with Shirley the host was great. Cottage is well equipped.

Nice cottage but small and overpriced.cottage looking tired.bathroom tiles cracked and shower didn't drain.cottage clean.what put my wife and I off we were asked to allow a plumber access to fix broken washing machine. The owner then asked if she could let estate agent in with a prospective buyer whilst we were on holiday! Not a good look!

The cottage is in great location but it does need an update. For the price paid I would expect everything in working order, but unfortunately it wasn't. The tap was dripping, broken tiles in the bathroom covered just with the towel, downstairs floor and the rug could do with an update, stains on the sofa . Big disappointment was finding out the “designated parking “ is outside the village - 20 mins walk uphill to get the car every time we wanted to use it, and god forbid you forget something in the car - it does get tiring, especially when not everyone in the party is able to make this walk every time. This should have been “mentioned “ in the main description so people can make informed decision before they book. And not as property manager suggested to ask about prior making the booking.

We were told there was washer dryer and WiFi and television. When we arrived, there was no WiFi and the tv needed a code. The only way to communicate with the host was by email which I had to leave the property and go to a restaurant to use their WiFi and then await a response.
My husband and I were tired and wanted a few days to rest, watch tv, and clean our clothes. Someone came by at 8:45 at night to drop off trash bags and he was nice enough to give us the WiFi code. This should have been provided.
Then we had washed all clothing and were told that the advertised dryer was actually an air dryer. Thus would have been useful to know prior to
Washing all
Of
Our clothes. The stairs were very thus in length and had to
Be used sideways. Not a great experience. We left after 1 night never to
Return

Location couldn't be better. Comfy bed. Cute decor. Reserved parking. No kitchen roll/napkins or trash bags but we got by. Highly recommend & would love to come stay again. Was great for staying in for the weekend & doing some great walks, etc.

As serial visitors, we could not recommend Port Isaac & Morleys Cottage any more highly.

The location is perfect for travelers looking to stay in “downtown Doc Martin” as my son put it. Another review suggested that the place could be cleaner and I have to agree; the property owner needs to come for a few days and do a serious cleaning beyond what normal cleaners do, but aside from the cobwebs it was decent. We loved being so close to the harbor, but it's a little noisy if you're trying to sleep late. All that being said, we loved it and would stay there again.

Hi Shirley just touching base to let you know we checked at 10.30. Thank you for letting us stay it was great.
A couple a things to let you know,
The mail box appears full,
We couldn’t find the iron or ironing board.
The kitchen sink tape has a drip it needs washer replacement.
You’re obviously aware the tikes in the bathroom by the shower are cracked.
There was also a couple of chipped plates ( large ones)
We run rental properties also and just thought you’d like the feedback. These things didn’t bother us and we weren’t sure if you were aware.
We had a great time. Thanks for letting us stay.
Wish you all the best

The cottage needs a refresh… there is a rank smell downstairs. The doctor a bit tired.cracked floor tiles in the bathroom. The upholstery in the sitting room a bit dirty and it needed a better clean. Overall a good base for a couple though the master bedroom mattress was hard and the bed a bit short if you are tall….

Incredible spot, so close to harbour, lovely to hear the sea lapping at the slipway at night. Seagulls singing all day .. views from the windows right in the heart of Port Isaac, the Old School house at night! The early morning hustle and bustle at the Fish Market, Pints in the Golden Lion.. Scenic walks and runs, beautiful countryside.. Lovely friendly people, local and holiday makers.. just the best!

Great spot. Cottage could do with a bit of an update but a pleasant stay nonetheless. It is a bit of an ordeal to drop off but the benefit is a traffic free village. Sadly the promised car park space at the top of the village was not available which was disappointing given this was one reason for booking. Comfy bed and well equipped (lacking cork screw and wine glasses). Great place though with pet allowed too which was a bonus!

The cottage was absolutely perfect for our visit to Port Isaac. Located in the center of the village, beautifully furnished and very clean. Shirley, our host, provided all information needed for an easy check-in. We highly recommend this property for future visits!

The location is good as it’s right next to the sea and perfect to walk from.
The only issues we had were being woken at 06:45 each morning by smashing bottles from the recycling from the local bar.
I’m 6’2” and the bed is too short and mattress rock hard, but on the whole it was nice to get away.

The cottage is in the heart of Port Isaac and is typically quaint for the area. Parking spot is at the top of the hill and instructions were not accurate so was hard to find initially.

This is the most lovely cottage, we will always want to go back to the same cottage. It’s convenient to everywhere and right by the beach.

Cosy cottage right in the heart of the village with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. To have a view of the bay and fall asleep to the sound of the waves was really special, as is Port Isaac. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Suited my stay for the three nights of our Port Isaacs visit very nicely and is a great location. Port Isaac is a village with tiny streets good for walking but not so good for vehicles. This cottage does not have it's own parking stall at the cottage as is similar for most of the cottages in Pt Isaac but it can bee driven to to drop off bags etc and again on departure.

The perfect base to explore the area, but also a beautiful place to stay. Very busy with visitors in the day, but becomes a quiet retreat in the evening with a good choice of places to eat and drink .

The cottage is in a very popular place so I assume it is well used, but it shows. Firstly, I would like to say we had a lovely stay and most of what I mention did not spoil our stay but the suggestions may enhance other people's stays. The property needs some tlc. There were cracked tiles at the end of the shower in the bathroom so the bath mat was over them to make them safe, knobs were missing from drawers and the bunk beds had been patched up with random pieces of wood. The work surface in the kitchen is coming away from the tiles quite considerably and a slug kept getting in from somewhere. More crockery would have helped in the kitchen as there is a dishwasher. Six dinner plates and four glasses is not enough if you are planning to eat all of your meals there - you would have to keep washing up to reuse. We ate out most of the time so it wasn't a problem for us. We were left a bottle of wine when we arrived which was lovely but there weren't any wine glasses - just four small tumblers! The towels that were left were only bath towels which was okay for the children but adults could do with bath sheets especially well built men over 6ft tall! As the main bedroom is on the front of the property, we were woken every morning between 5 and 6:30am by the sound of rubbish trucks beeping as they reversed and then four bins of glass bottles being emptied into the truck from 'The Slipway' guest house and restaurant opposite. Also, we could clearly hear everyone's conversations on the Platt at that time in the morning as they arrived for work, slammed their car doors and were shouting at eachother. I realise it is a grade II listed building and we were staying in a working harbour but perhaps some secondary glazing inside may provide some useful sound proofing. We quickly started going to bed earlier as we knew we would be woken early. This was okay but not necessarily what you want to do on holiday. An allocated parking space was very helpful (a new post is needed) but it needs making clear on the cottage advertisement that it is roughly a ten minute walk from the cottage to the parking space up a very steep hill. Not everyone will be familiar with Port Isaac and realise this. Unloading/loading the car is difficult as you have to drive through the very narrow streets of Port Isaac, block the road, quickly throw your belongings out and then drive back up to park the car. This ten minute walk to/from the car is daily if you want to use your car.

Fantastic communication with the owner / host which made a huge difference. Parking in Port Issac is scarce so having parking included with the Morley’s cottage worked very well. The parking is located slightly away from the cottage but is secure. The cottage was clean and provided all necessities for our family. Great base and location for local beaches, local area and Port Issac .

The position of this cottage couldn’t be better - just a few yards from the harbour, amongst the bustle of restaurants, shops and visitors. The cottage is snug and nicely decorated. Our host was quick to communicate when we had questions about the property.

Perfect Location and Cute Little Cottage
Cute, tidy and nicely decorated little cottage, walk to all the sites of Port Issac. Perfect for a couple, bed was comfortable, Parking is a way off, but just pull up and quickly unload or load your bags and then go park. It is an easy walk uphill to all the town attractions.

Photo's looked better
Very disappointing it says sleeps up to 4 people, not enough room for 3 adults as the bunks were for kids, wasn't able to cook as one of the cupboards had big patches of mould in them and the frypan was covered in mould.

Cheap, cheerful and central
The accommodation is smaller than most but we didn't spend too much time there during the day. The reserve parking space is a fair walk from the place up steep streets and when you've walked it for the 8th time it can be tiring.
It is centrally located and close to all of the Doc Martin 'attractions'.
There are a couple of broken floor tiles with sharp edges in the bathroom, the dishwasher was broken and the windows are single pane so you hear everything going on outside until the early hours and then again when the fish market opens first thing.
The reserved parking spot was stolen by someone for two days of my visit so I had to pay for 24 parking in the local car park which is even further away.
All-in-all it is a pleasant cottage but not for large families or light sleepers.
