Beautiful tranquil spot by the lake.

The property was as described and Marla was a great host. She provided a thorough list of area restaurants, wineries, and places to see, includingdirections. She was available and responded timely to my messages. I definitely recommend this property for a relaxing time at the lake!

First and foremost this property was dirty, nowhere near properly cleaned. Blood stains on some bedding, big dust bunnies, grotty ac units and towels that were left for us to use were fit for the garbage even when clean but they weren't even clean to start with. Damaged blinds, damaged and raised ceiling panels, a stove that of the 2 bigger heater coils only one was really useable. Mattress that gave up the ghost years ago and sagged like a hammock but was less comfortable than a hammock...to name just a few things No washer/dryer was a big deal. In fairness one was not listed, so my fault, however if one of the reasons you rent a house as a family rather than a hotel is this, then don't just assume one will be there like it has been at all other VRBO properties I've rented. We complained to the owner about the towels and did get some fresh ones and have apology texts about the conditions of the blinds. However we were there 6 days so did not want to make an overall fuss as on the plus side we did get to use the dock, kayak and paddleboard. So our mentality was, house is far from great but we rented to be by a lake so lets use the lake, do day trips and then move on. Thats essentially what we did. I also purchase insurance through VRBO and just found out the owner has fraudulently claimed against that insurance for damage/repair for a number of things she apologized to us for on text saying previous renters had done when we moved in. We also have time stamped pictures.

Cute, clean cottage with great view and access to the lake and area attractions. Highly recommended for small groups, families and couples.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Longview Cottage! It was a peaceful respite, with beautiful private beach views. The cottage is cozy and was perfect for my husband and me. It is close to some amazing state parks and the nearby roads are great for biking and walking. The local wineries are also terrific. And the owner, Marla, is very personable and responsive to all questions. She also welcomes you with a complimentary bottle of local wine. I highly recommend this rental!

Cayuga Lake is one of our favorite vacation destinations. We like spending our days outdoors and this area has a wide array of activities for everyone in the family to enjoy. After a busy day of hiking and wine tasting, it was relaxing to return to the cabin. It had everything we needed and was a comfortable space to relax with the kids. The lake view is lovely and we ventured to the beach and took out the pedal boat even with the chiller fall temps. We can only imagine how amazing it is in the warmer months. We were close to all of our favorite stops. A wonderful stay all around.

We enjoyed the quiet but there were many options for great hiking, wineries and breweries within a short drive. We did a lot of paddleboardins and especially enjoyed the sunsets and star gazing at the beach!

We had a wonderful trip to Cayuga Lake with our family. Longview is a special spot and the perfect getaway for our family. Marla is a wonderful host!

We loved our stay at Longview Cottage! The house was super clean and has everything needed for a lake front vacation. Our teen girls especially enjoyed the SUPs and the kayak also got put to good use. The lakeside firepit was a nice way to end the day. The neighborhood is quiet and everyone is friendly. Definitely would recommend this cottage!

We stay here every chance we can. The owner is awesome. The cabin is cute, and the lake view is spectacular. We saw a lot of wildlife such as an Eagle, rabbits, and a variety of fish. Like to fish? This area never disappoints. It is a great place to relax. The local restaurants serve quality food - and let’s forget the wine!

We stayed for 3 nights with our family of four. The kids loved to play ball in the large front and backyards. The cottage is a bit back from the road, which makes it very quiet - but produces a slightly longer walk to the road, then cross the narrow street, then you go down the stairs to the lake. The kids jumped off the dock and loved to swim at the property. We used the supplied kayak, canoe, and SUPs. There is also a paddleboat on site. My husband and kids caught lots and lots of perch in the canoe and from the dock. We went to Cayuga Lake State Park for swimming (could swim on the property as well) and Taughannock State Park to hike to the waterfall. This cottage is in a great location near the middle of Cayuga Lake. We loved having a coffee pot and toaster for breakfast. There is lots included in the small kitchen if you would like to make meals there (we chose to eat at some nice breweries with my family). All in all, a great stay and nice time away!

Fantastic cozy cabin with wonderful views and lake access. Scenic and easy drive to and from Ithaca. Owners very helpful, accommodating and available without being intrusive or demanding. The perfect place to relax during the week of daughter’s Cornell graduation.

Charming two bedroom home, the master bedroom has closet and hooks for clothes, the twin bed room has hooks on wall for clothes, outside parking is convenient. Neighborhood is quiet and the newly paved roads were great to ride on. The town is 15 minutes away by car. It is quaint and very friendly people live there.

We took a trip out here in October and this place was perfect for us. We loved our stay!

We had a wonderful experience with this property and owner. Before we arrived we had completed all necessary forms, received a list of nearby attractions and restaurants, and got directions via email from the owner, Marla. It was a smooth and easy process. The location was perfect for us. We did a lot of hiking at nearby parks, visited many wineries, and spent time in nearby Ithaca and Watkins Glen, NY. Although we travelled a little too late in the year to enjoy canoeing, kayaking, or paddle boating on Lake Cayuga, we could have as the owner provided all of these amenities. The kitchen was well stocked and the 2 bedroom cottage was clean and functional. There is a lighted path down to the lake and a dock and chairs to just sit and relax. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owner was more than attentive. Thank you Marla

We had a lovely stay at the Longview Guest House. The location in a peaceful location with a nice view of the lake across the street. We enjoyed walking down and using the lakefront. We relaxed by the fire pit at night and paddled around in the kayak and on the paddle boards. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The location worked well for our day trip plans. We were able to visit and hike in Watkins Glen, Ithica and Corning and Trumansburg. Marla was a great host and had everything prepared and was available for any questions.

Lovely cabin with views of the lake. Quiet and comfortable. We usually ate out, but the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. One thing that attracted me to the property was the use of equipment for the lake, SUP, kayaks, etc. but alas, the weather didn't cooperate. We did, however, enjoy the private dock. Located midway on the west coast of Cayuga Lake, the cabin was well situated to many locations, Ithaca, Seneca Lake, wine trails. walking trails, waterfalls, Watkins Glen. We were provided with a list of useful recommendations for the area, as well as some local wine, upon check-in. Communication with the host was easy and prompt. We will stay here on future visits to the area!

Peaceful retreat for couple looking to relax, visit wineries and scenic drive. Nice quiet neighborhood with beautiful lake access and views.

While it was small it was very clean and cozy. It was perfect for two people. It was in an amazing location. The lake view from the cabin and the dock were exceptional! The host Marla thinks of everything you may need! It was a wonderful place to call home if only for a week!

My parents stayed at this nice cottage while the rest of the family was at another house down the road. It was the perfect place for them. A beautiful view up the lake, and the owner was great to work with.

We stayed at Longview cottage over the July 4 holiday. Marla, the owner, provided everything we needed and we in communication with us to make sure our stay was pleasant. Definitely would recommend this property as a place to stay on Cayuga Lake!

Longview is lovely vacation rental in a great location on Cayuga lake. Close to many wineries and activities. The house has everything you need for a nice vacation, including cooking supplies, a grill, etc. The rental also provides access to the water and a boathouse with many options including paddle boards, kayak and canoe. Check in was easy. I would definitely recommend this property and would stay again.

Matla was wonderful with lots of great recommendations and quick responses to questions. Comfy and cozy. Great location. Didn't get a chance to use the many water amenities except the dock/deck. Lovely view at sunset.

We didn't take advantage of the kayak, canoe, etc. because we were there in the fall, but what a bonus to have them available. Also, there was a grill, which we did use to good advantage.Marla is a great host - she was totally available (she lives next door) and very personable, but not intrusive. She even gathered the troops on the last day to help us get our dead car battery charged!Great experience all the way around!

The property is small but updated and clean and really lovely. There is beachfront and use of canoe, kayak, pedal boat, floats, fire pit. The region is beautiful and the wineries are great. Marla was very helpful with any and everything!
