We had a great week at this property! The house was very comfortable and the kitchen/dining/living area was perfect. We cooked a lot and found everything we needed in the kitchen. The lake is a bit weedy in the area but my kids spent everyday in the water. The lily pad was great and we rented a pontoon boat for two days which was really fun. A note: in the listing it shows the bunkie having a queen sized futon but currently has a small love seat with chaise. Vivian was super responsive when we needed to reach out to her. A great stay overall!

Cottage is wonderful and has just about everything you would want. We were 5 adults and 2 children and did not feel cramped. Air conditioning was adequate and there were plenty of fans as well. Beds in cabin were very comfortable. Screen enclosure around patio deck was greatly appreciated. Sparrow Lake is beautiful and we had some great fish feasts. It will be a memory we will all cherish.

The cottage is lovely and has everything you need for a nice Muskoka vacation. The property is a good size for family fun. Yes, it is located on a reedy part of the lake, but if you like nature, the biodiversity would be a good learning experience for you kids. We saw an otter, beaver, turtle, great blue heron, frogs, toads and fish. We enjoyed the canoe and kayaks. Our only problem was the heat. The AC unit was not installed and my 76 year old mother was uncomfortable.

Lovely property, perfect for a family holiday

The cottage is lovely. The attention to detail is impressive. The kitchen has everything one could possibly need. The fridge, cupboards, and so on were spotless. The live-edge dining room table, leather couch and chairs, open concept eating/cooking/sitting area were perfect. The two bathrooms were clean, modern, and bright. The bedrooms were very comfortable and set back from the main area so that they were peaceful and quiet. The deck, just out through the sliding glass doors, had a dining table smartly surrounded by netting. Down two steps and still on the deck were four comfy armchairs separated by a propane fire table. The path down to the lakefront is wide and easy to navigate. The fire pit area is perfect with 6 lovely red Muskoka chairs. The toys were super. Kayaks, paddle boards, and a canoe sit easily accessible beside the sand beach (that had been raked like at a 5-star resort). The water- this is the part that the owner has no control over but is/was important to us. You could walk in on sand to mid-thigh about 10-15 feet from shore and then the weeds started. The weeds are from the lake floor to the surface and are everywhere. One cannot swim from the beach area or beyond the dock due to the weeds. And for us, this was disappointing. BUT , if you do not plan on swimming from the shore or dock, the waterfront and shoreline are picturesque. Thank you Vivian for the use of your very well appointed cottage and grounds.

This cottage has everything you could ask for. Kitchen had a great number of small appliance as well. Exactly as described but better lol Outdoor toys for all ages. What a delight to be able to enjoy so many meals on the deck while enjoying the view. Sunset was perfection.

This property was perfect for our family getaway. The amenities were great and allowed us great entertainment enjoying the lake on the paddle boards, kayaks and peddle boat. The location was quiet, private and peaceful for relaxing evenings by the fire or lounging with a great lake view. The cottage was well stocked and we had everything we needed and more. Looking forward to returning for future getaways.

We had a great time! Property was exactly as described and well appointed. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the amenities and being out on the lake. It was VERY easy to get comfortable and feel at home at this cottage. Looking forward to coming back one day soon.

Myself and 6 other girlfriends (All 30+) stayed at this cottage for our annual girls' cottage weekend and we had the best time! The cottage is even more beautiful than the photos. Everything was clean, the owner let us have early check-in, she was easy to communicate with, the beds were very comfortable, and we really enjoyed being on the water and being able to have a fire at night - there was firewood already there for us. There's lots of privacy with the trees surrounding the property so we didn't see any neighbours. We would 100% stay here again!

I stayed with friends and we found the cottage to be the perfect fall getaway! The host is wonderful and very helpful. Everything we needed was in the cottage and there was lots of equipment outside to enjoy the outdoors as well: multiple canoes/kayaks/paddleboards, beautiful fire pit with muskoka chairs, bbq and second gas fire area for keeping cozy. We didn't end up swimming but we had a great dock to get out on the water in the boats and there was a wading/beach area too. Very well maintained property and beautiful stay!

We have been renting cottages in the Muskoka area for many years and this one on Sparrow Lake is surely one of the best yet! It proved to be very comfortable and spacious for us – two somewhat senior couples looking for a quiet place to relax by a lake! Our favourite activity was to sit and read in the sun on the dock during the day and then around the gas firepit on the deck in the evening. This cottage was well stocked with the essential amenities except for a tea pot – luckily, we were able to buy a very nice vintage pot to add to our home collection at the Blue Willow Tea Shop in Gravenhurst. A disappointment was the abundance of weed in the otherwise clean and clear water – some blown in from across the lake and a more invasive Eurasian Milfoil type growing around the shoreline. Because of this, we did not feel comfortable about going into the water to swim. On arrival, we did need to do some minor clean-up in one of bathrooms and the refrigerator. It seems that a previous renter had either misplaced or (mistakenly?) removed the satellite TV tuner box from the bedroom, as well as the remote control for the DVD player, so we were unable to use those particular devices. The main TV in the family room, however, worked just fine and the Wi-Fi router provided a very good signal even all the way down on the dock. This is probably due to a recent installation of a Wi-Fi bridge to a local community network because we had to contact Vivian regarding the password, which did not work! It had ominously referred to the ’need for speed’ but has recently been changed to the password now shown on the website. All in all, we did find this cottage to be what we were looking for – perhaps if we had been there during the warmer summer weeks, the condition of the lake may have been more of a disappointment

Wonderful cottage! Clean, beautiful, and well stocked. Easy access to the dock and water, with absolutely stunning sunsets. Vivian was very responsive, and we kept busy with all of the games, puzzles, and great hiking nearby (Tree Museum). I highly recommend this lovely cottage on Sparrow Lake!

We enjoyed our stay and the cottage was very well provided for, outside areas good with good access to water for boating. Loved it and would stay again!

This was a bright, cute, fresh cottage! The kitchen was well stocked and the deck and fire table were great for sitting out in the evenings. Cottage is a good layout. The fire pit was great and the toys for the water and the yard were great. The lake is really weedy but that’s pretty normal for august.

Great owner, easy checkin, fully stocked with anything you could possibly need. There were many areas to sit, hang out and take sun. Great beachfront as well as dock. Lots of parking. The bunkie is super as well. There was lots to do on rainy days with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime as well as games. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Of note for me, and this is a personal issue, is that I am picky about weeds for swimming and there were a lot in this lake as a whole so I didn’t swim as much as I would have liked.

We had a great stay at Sparrow Lake! The cottage is well renovated, tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable. It was well equipped for household needs as well as indoor and outdoor cottage entertainment for our young family. We enjoyed the outdoor property, fire pit and dock and were thrilled to be able to have a prime sunset view. Our kids loved the shallow beach and supplied boats. Our only complaint is being near a swampy area of the lake, reeds often collected on the beach and needed to be cleared and the angle of the shore line keeps the waterfront very exposed to the neighbours. All in all a wonderful cottage to which we hope to return!

Great place to stay

Vivian is the ultimate host! The cottage is absolutely perfect with EVERYTHING you need. From Linens, supplies, fire wood, every detail has been carefully thought of for guests to have a perfect stay! The views from the deck were amazing, we watched the sunset every night! Vivians place is perfect for a family or group of friends! I also enjoyed having a TV in the bedroom for some wind down time before bed with my daughter, it’s exactly what we needed for our little one. The open concept is perfect for socializing and watching over the kids. Vivian was also a great host and very quick to respond on any questions. Will definitely be coming back!

Nice property with open kitchen, family room and living room looking out onto the lake. Kitchen was well stocked and there were lots of games for rainy days and water activities as well. Our family really enjoyed the fire pit. Bring rubber boots during rainy season.

Went in winter. Very beautifully decorated with a very well-stocked kitchen. Close drive into town as well. 100% would recommend. Only thing was tough to get good reception out here and wifi slow.

This cottage is wonderful. It is clean and the photos are accurate. It is well equipped and nicely decorated. The deck is great and the outside area is spacious. The canoe light fixture is incredible. I would highly recommend this cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean, spacious and the owners obviously take care of this home - everything was updated - from the very comfortable beds to the modern electric fireplace and seating area. There were just 3 of us, but with 3 bedrooms, a large dining table and centre island seating, a larger group could definitely be comfortable there. Also nice seating outside for eating or just relaxing in the deck chairs. We made use of the kayaks, canoes and paddle boat. Hope to stay again!

The cottage itself is located on a lakefront with a beautiful view and amenities including a wood fire pit by the lake and a gas fire pit on the deck. It was perfect to sit around during the month of October. The inside of the cottage was extremely clean, well kept, and had lovely decor and features. Vivian was a great host, very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. I would highly recommend booking here and would love to book again in the near future!

My partner and I spent 4 nights at this immaculate, well-stocked, cozily furnished cottage with a beautiful view of a little bay on Sparrow Lake. It was exactly what we wanted for a winter get-away, and exactly as advertised (in words and photos). The owners had gone the extra mile by decorating it with under-stated Christmas lights and other touches. Even the brief power outage the night we arrived wasn't a problem -- the owner contacted us to let us know where the candles and flashlights were, and had checked with Ontario Hydro to get an estimate of how long the power would be out (only a short time). Plenty of places for walks, with views of the lake and surrounding forest. Only a brief drive from Gravenhurst stores. The inclement weather on two days made the fireplace a special treat and the lane into the cottage was quickly plowed after the snow ended. Highly recommended.

Great cottage! 3 couples stayed there the 2nd weekend of November. Private, great views, very clean. Everything you need in a cottage. Can't wait to stay there again in the summer months so we can enjoy the water!
