Slept so well in this quiet retreat in older part of town. On warmer days feel like sitting outside with the large sliding door open. Apartment appointed with anything you might need. Nearby pharmacy, bank, Casino and cafe and brasserie and restaurants within 1 km walk. Good takeaway kebab just steps out the door. Lovely market and easy town to use as base for visiting Lot and Cele area with many medieval towns, Peche Merle, etc. Would stay afain anytime back in this area.

This was a really charming property, and lived up to our expectations. It was very clean and comfortable, and the sofa bed exceeded my expectation. It is very well equipped, and had everything we needed.
It has a lovely garden, though when we were there in late September it didn't get the early morning or evening sun, though that would be a bonus when very hot.
It is very conveniently situated for pedestrian access, but is more difficult with a car because of the very narrow streets and one way system. We hired the garage a short distance away, but there is a large free car park close.
After the initial booking through VRBO, we had direct communication from the host, Mme Deladerriere. She sent us a welcoming letter, with details of the property, and map of the town showing the position. We were able to contact her directly via email with some queries, and received immediate replies. It was good to meet her in person after we arrived.
We felt very comfortable in Les Arcades, and would thoroughly recommend it for a holiday. We are already considering booking again.

We recently spent a fantastic week in Les Arcades. it was perfectly located just a short walk from the Boulevard where you can enjoy the restaurants and bars. Supermarkets are also close by. Mme Deladerriere gave us some really useful tips on arrival re restaurants and places to visit. The apartment was very clean and suited my husband and I perfectly. Les Arcades is in the heart of this most beautiful city and has a courtyard garden where you can relax after a busy day exploring. This is the perfect place to stay and discover the beauty of Cahors and explore the surrounding area. Thank you Yvonne for making our holiday so memorable.

Our week in Yvonne’s Les Arcades apartment was very nice. The apartment is in an ideal location in the center of old town Cahors and just one block off Boulevard Gambetta, the main boulevard. There is free parking a very short walk away and a local grocery across the boulevard. The surrounding area is full of history, culture, shops, bars, restaurants, cafés and great places to while away the time. The apartment is in an enclosed courtyard with plenty natural light from the wall of windows fronting the courtyard. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is large and has a washer and dryer, the bedroom is large and the bed is comfortable. WIFI connection was very good. Yvonne was a delightful host and concerned for our comfort. Thank you Yvonne for a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful stay and Mme Deladerriere gave us some helpful tips on arrival re places and restaurants to visit. The apartment is rather unusual as it is long and thin but it has all mod cons and is great value for money. If you want to watch TV there is one but due to shape of the room viewing from the sofa may pose a problem. The two best features of the apartment are its location in the heart of the beautiful historic city of Cahors and the quiet calm provided by Les Arcades courtyard garden. From this base one may explore the city which has much to offer. The old city is superb with many historic buildings and wonderful restaurants. It also provides a base for striking out and visiting the many attractive towns and villages not to mention wonderful vineyards in the surrounding region. The wines of this region are superb as is the cuisine. I have no problems recommending Les Arcades as an excellent base for exploring both the city and surrounding area.

The Arcades was very quiet, private and secure, located in the old town within easy walking distance of most Cahors sights. Also convenient for shopping at the markets, the market hall or the shops on the Boulevarde and the supermarket. Yvonne offered great recommendations for shopping and for local restaurants. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped for self-catering and had excellent wifi. Yvonne was helpful from our first email contact and made us feel very welcome. In our two week stay we found the apartment in Cahors to be an excellent base for sight-seeing in the Lot and Dordogne valleys and beyond. Being able to rent a garage space was invaluable in a town where parking seemed almost impossible. Cahors offered a great variety of cultural activities, very good food and wine and we found people friendlier than in some other towns where they appeared to suffer tourist fatigue.

This compact apartment is set in a charming and peaceful garden/courtyard and had everything we needed. We were in the thick of the medieval city, with towers, turrets, arches and hidden gardens at every turn. Meanwhile at the end of the street, all our basic commercial needs were met and the cathedral and open-air market were just minutes away. Parking was close by and getting in and out of town for excursions was easy. There are many lovely villages, towns and markets to visit within easy reach. Following the River Lot, as well as other rivers in the area with their cliffs and perched castles and villages, was a delight. We recommend trying the wines of the region, starting with a tasting at Malbec Cahors, which is next to the tourist office where there is also plenty of useful information. Our host was warm, welcoming, and helpful, and within easy reach if needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
