We loved staying here. House is very well appointed and very comfortable. Townhouse over 3 floors with a fantastic roof terrace which has great views over the harbour and up to the mountains. Location is fantastic - right in the marina side of the harbour. Fab restaurants and beautiful chania old town right on the doorstep. Parking can be found close by in either car park or street. We’d definitely stay again!

Casa Sabbionara is in Chania Old Town and walking distance to everything. It is a beautifully restored building, elegant, and true to its historic heritage, but with all modern amenities. The highlight of our stay, however, was the host. Always responsive, Dimosthenis went over and above in helping us out, even arranged transportation to the airport. Thank you!

The communications with Dimos were so easy and he was there to introduce us to Casa Sabbionara on arrival. This property is spotless and so very comfortable!! Everything we needed had been thought of. It was pretty hot when we were there but the property is beautifully air conditioned throughout. The terrace area is the icing on the cake!! We spent most afternoons enjoying a glass of wine and admiring the view whilst enjoying the very welcome shade and luxuriating on the lovely corner sofa with some soft music playing...heaven! Dimos had thoughtfully provided a welcome bottle of wine, fresh fruit and some raki for us to try, as well as some bottles of water and soft drinks to see us through the first night. The house is literally a 2 minute walk from the harbour area where you will find an array of restaurants and bars. You will have so much delicious food to choose from. Everything is very reasonable and top top quality. The harbour is buzzy in a good way - no trouble just lots of people happy and smiling...after all whats not to like! This is heaven and Casa Sabbionara is the place to enjoy it to its fullest. We loved it!!

Amazing host

Dimos was great! He met us at check-in and helped us with transportation to tour the island. He was always available for any questions we had. The place was very clean and the roof patio has a great view. We will be back! Thanks Dimos!!!!

Casa Sabbionara has been one of the most wonderful places I’ve stayed at. It was located in my opinion the best area of Chania, with charming streets/alleys and restaurants within a 1-2 minute walk. Dimos was very attentive in helping us with whatever we needed. He even came back to let us back in when we locked our keys in the place when we were leaving! My husband and I stayed for 6 nights and it wasn’t enough! Thank you for the wonderful stay!!!

The upper outdoor balcony was fantastic. When we were at the house, that is where we spent our time reading and eating. The location is perfect, walking distance to great restaurants....small beaches....and the lighthouse!!! Dimos is very attentive and patient will all our questions. Each room is on a different level which makes it unique. Very comfortable bed, hot showers, we loved it!!!!! The bathroom is on the main level and the bedroom is on the 3rd level. The large outdoor space with a view to the sea makes it all worthwhile and we would definitely stay here again!!!!

Loved this location, slightly away from the main tourist throng, but so close to the harbour and action. Great restaurants close by and the host was lovely, providing us with lots of recommendations for activities and restaurants. Location is exactly as pictured!

The entire process from booking to arriving to leaving was faultless. Dimos was there every step of the way, guiding and advising us and was there to greet us. The accom is as it is in the photos. It's beautifully located of you prefer peace and quiet and it's only a short walk into the centre of town. We LOVED that aspect - it was private and quiet. One thing to note, though, is if you have mobility issues, the accom is spread over 4 stories with the bedroom being on the 3rd floor (up to flights of timber spiral stairs) and the bathroom/toilet is on the ground floor. Not a terrible issue for us but could be a nuisance for middle-of-the-night toilet visits. Other than that, we rate this 5 out of 5 and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We loved our stay in Chania in this gorgeous little house (especially the roof terrace!). Everything was perfect, great location and surrounding area. The house is very comfortable with everything you could need and more thanks to the lovely generous host and his team - thank you!

I concur with the existing reviews and this was the first time we have ever had the excellent experience of having the owner greet and orient us. However I think that any future renter should know that the bathroom is on the ground floor and the bedroom is on the 3rd floor.

The very best of locations was at our 10 day stay in the Old Town of Hania at the Sabbionnara Villa hosted by a delightful Greek - Dimos. He met us and showed us through his unique villa of several levels, each with character and use, but the best was the lovely outside patio, where we could go to escape the heat, catch the breezes off the beautiful old port waters. The location in the Old Town was perfect, close to parking and walking distance to everything, especially shopping and eating. One caveat is there are lots of stairs, but we are both over 80 and managed just fine. Mel & Marilyn

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending 10 days in this unique villa close to parking and right next to the sea wall walk along the amazing harbour. Unparalleled acces to shopping and eating. Dino’s is a wonderful host.

The perfect place to stay if you want to be in the heart of Old Port Chania. Beautiful views and charming apartment in the heart of the action. The apartment is exactly as shown in the pics. Dimos is a fabulous host very attentive quick to answer any questions and very hospitable. The bed is very comfortable with lots of pillows. The only problem…. we didn’t stay long enough. This trip was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. After some challenges with flights and luggage, we arrived in Chania for our stay at the Casa Sabbionara. What an amazing place. The view from the balcony was incredible and the property itself was perfect for us. The location puts you very close to the harbor area but kept you away from the noise and crowds. The host, Dimos, is probably one of the nicest, friendliest people I've had the privilege of meeting. He couldn't have been more helpful. He texted us almost daily to see if we needed anything or just to see how we were doing. And the communication before we ever arrived was incredibly helpful. I can't say enough about this experience. Completely amazing.

This was the second house we were in for the other half of our holiday and it was absolutely brilliant. The communication with Dimos was superb and the house was immaculate - there were some welcome gifts waiting for us too! Fresh towels were provided every few days along with waste collections. It's location is great and is located at one end of the old town harbour with easy access to parking literally a 1 min walk to the front door. Chania itself is magnificent and vibrant and there is so much to explore. Dimos sent us some great recommendations for places to visit and eat and I know its said often but we really didn't want to leave! Thanks again for the stay Dimos!

From the onset of our connection online through the check-in process and all throughout our stay, Dimos was a perfect communicator and a gracious host. He offered us advice on local venues as well as out of town adventures. The beautiful house is impeccable and although it’s mere steps from the busy Old Town port, the little alley makes is an oasis of calm. Watching the sunrise with your coffee or ending your day with a book on the upstairs terrace were the moments we were looking forward to each day. Great, centrally located house. Quiet street but very close to restaurants and cafes, and a minute from the sea. The roof terrace is the perfect place to relax. Spotlessly clean, with regular towels and linens change. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved our stay in chania. The property was clean and very cute, and a great location. Our only issue was parking, we were told it was easy to find but it’s only easy to find before 8pm. We got in at 830 our first night and couldn’t find it anywhere and ended up in a garage. It would have been great to go straight to the garage to avoid all of the one way streets and such. Once we figured out how parking worked, we knew whether to park near the place or in the garage.

As our first post-COVID international travel, the only thing better then the location/view from the balcony was our host Dimos! He welcomed us to Chania with the greatest hospitality and care for our comfort and safety than we could’ve asked for. The home was spotless, well stocked and in a perfect location for exploring Chania’s historic port or as a base of operations for travel through West Crete. Dimos gave us recommendations for restaurants and places to visit of which we tried many! We especially LOVED a restaurant Well of the Turk he recommended. The 3 stories leading to the amazing balcony overlooking the harbor was worth the steps every morning for coffee and every evening for sunset! Not a problem for us but perhaps if stairs are a limiting issue, then not for you. We would not hesitate to return or recommend! Thank you so much Dimos!

Das Haus ist gemütlich eingerichtet, aber am häufigsten waren wir auf der Dachterrasse, die vor Sonne wie vor Regen geschützt ist. Schön für den 1. Kaffee am Morgen, den Absacker des Nachts, und immer zwischendurch. Es liegt optimal in der Altstadt, man braucht daher abends kein Auto. Das ist gut, da es bei den Restaurants etc. kaum Parkplätze gibt, und das Haus auch nur schwierig mit dem Auto zu erreichen ist. Ein Parkplatz gleich nebenan ist an Wochentagen kostenpflichtig, ein weiterer in 5 Min. Fußweg Entfernung frei. Der Vermieter ist sehr bemüht, freundlich und entgegenkommend. Wir sind sehr zufrieden, und hatten eine wunderbare Woche in Chania.

Every morning we had our coffee and breakfast on the veranda and often sat there in the evenings enjoying a glass of wine before going out to dinner. Dimos is the perfect host. He was at the apartment when we arrived late on our first night and had a bottle of wine and other refreshments to welcome our arrival which was much needed after a long day of travelling. He was always available to answer any questions that we might have and to suggest places to visit including some great beaches. Marathi Beach was certainly one of our favorites. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very nicely furnished. It was especially nice to have Rula the housekeeper come to the apartment three times while we were there to change the sheets and towels as well as do some cleaning and take out the garbage. Dimos, thank you for a wonderful experience at Casa Sabbionara. Also, many thanks for arranging a taxi for us to the airport and your gift. Your thoughtfulness was very much appreciated. Nice rental in the heart of old town, true to the pictures and description, comfortable bed, quality furnishings, good a/c. And the owner was very helpful and accommodating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Sabbionara. The property is exactly as pictured and super clean. Dimos was an wonderful and very accessible host - he answered any questions we had very quickly. The location of the property really can't be beat - steps from the harbour, two minutes from a wonderful swimming spot we found just to the east. Restaurants, shopping, wandering, people watching, museums....it's a within minutes of the apartment. We cooked breakfasts in the kitchen, slept well and had wonderful naps and pre and post dinner glasses of wine on the terrace. The shower was excellent and Dimos provided lovely soaps, shampoo, lotion and shower gel. Dimos has someone come by to replace towels, sheets and tidy up every couple of days. We would recommend the apartment to anyone who wants a real taste of staying in the beautiful harbour of Chania. The stairs, of course, are a reality, but it was good preparation for us at our next stop in Paros! Recommend without hesitation! Thanks Dimos!
