great facilities, staff and location
the all inclusive package was too expensive and we didn’t get a breakdown when we received the reservation confirmation, so it was an unexpected surprise when we checked out and got a much higher bill than expected - the all inclusive package is not a good idea

Lovely resort near Playa del Carmen.
Used the gym daily, the beach was well catered and enjoyed using the bikes around the resort. The food in all the restaurants was very good, breakfast buffet was amazing.

I loved the beach, the climatized pool, the friendliness of the staff, the food.
Everything was great.
I wished there had been bikes for small kids with two side wheels and maybe some activities, like night shows.

All the staff were amazing and helpful. Casa Amate and Sotavento delivered some of the best meal experiences I have had in my life! (Coming from someone who has enjoyed world class meals) the experience was beautiful all around.
Due to the covid test requirements to re-enter the US, I think it would be helpful for the staff to inform guests about the testing location and/or coordinate getting tested, upon arrival at the hotel.
*I was not informed about the test site when I checked in at the property.

The rooms were excellent, property was beautiful despite the huge amount of seaweed covering the entire ocean in front of their beach. Smelled was awful. Could not enjoy the beautiful beach at all.
If you are going to make it all inclusive, MAKE IT ALL INCLUSIVE! We had limited places to dine with COVID and them just reopening; but had to pay extra on almost everything on their dinner menu and premium liquor. They should of credited us the price on our ocean view room with the huge sea weed problem and smell. Not one person asked how was our stay. Service and food was hit or miss, but they had limited staff. Felt as if I was ripped off at $2,000 for 3 nights. They needed to remain closed until Sea Weed goes away or until they can be fully operational. Tried to open early with COVID and limited facilities and services, but ended up being an epic fail!

The view of the room is amazing, also they have a bout tour where you get to see astonishing landscapes. They also have a clean beach.
They didn't respect the all inclusive package I booked, they sent me an email saying the rate wasn't correct and it was a booking.com error. So they wanted to charge more money or cancel the nights. I refuse so at the end they respect the rate but toke out the food and beverage that were included supposed. I ended up paying more than 150usd in food. I feel cheated by both booking and the hotel. As well the service in the hotel didn't meet expectations, we were both days more than 5 hours at the pool area and not a single waiter approach to ask if we needed something.
