Loved this place. Great size, multiple puzzles, games, stocked kitchen and garage. A short trip in Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. The place was perfect there on the water although a short walk to Tashmoo Beach is recommended just be ready for a narrow winding dirt road back to the property.

This house on Lake Tashmoo was amazing! It has beautiful views of the lake and ocean. It is walking distance to the ocean at Lake Tashmoo Town Beach. It is peaceful and secluded, but Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs are just a short drive for eating out and other activities. The well-equipped kitchen also made staying home for dinner a pleasure.
Tim communicated well and this made the logistics of our stay really easy.

We planned a sibling reunion with spouses to celebrate our 65th, 70th and 75th birthdays together on the Vineyard. Tim was an incredible host, in correspondence with us before and during our stay to ensure that we had everything we needed and were well taken care of. The house is well stocked and we were greeted with a welcome basket of goodies to get our celebrating off to a good start. We had only one problem with an ornery oven that did not want to warm up. Tim had an electrician there within the day. The charcoal grill also saved the day as an easy backup. Although we were excited to explore the island, we spent most of our time on the deck, taking in the extraordinary view and watching one of the most magnificent sunsets we have ever seen. As promised, there is easy access to a swimming beach at the pond below the house, and an ocean beach an easy walk down the road. A very special spot!

We have been vacationing on MV for years so we are very familiar with many parts of the island. We love the area around Lake Tashmoo and this property was wonderfully situated with a private path to a wonderful beach. Warm shallow water never more than 5ft at high tide. Our 7 and 4 yo grand daughters loved it. Swimming and kayaking from the beach was wonderful. The property was clean and the property owner was very easy to communicate with. The sunsets were spectacular and we had clear skies enough to see the Milky Way one night and vivid lightning storms across the sound on another night. We cannot say enough about how well this property met our needs and exceeded our expectations.

This property was everything that we had hoped for! It was a wonderful oasis for a girls' weekend away! We loved that the house truly felt like a home. The view of the lake and the property was so beautiful. We enjoyed coffee on the deck in the mornings and evenings looking at the stars. It's remote, but perfectly situated! Just what we needed
The house is very nice with many enjoyable features that make a stay there pleasant and worthwhile. The location is fabulous, beautiful views and close to anything you could want to get to on the island. We stayed in January and it was spectacular, I can't even imagine how nice it would be in the warmer months, but I do hope to go back and find out someday. :)
But even more important than the beautiful property and location, the owners are probably the best I have ever worked with on one of these rentals. We needed a holiday weekend getaway and booked on relatively short notice. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and resulted in a cancelled ferry to the island and a good chance of cancellation for the return trip. The owners were more accommodating and flexible than we could have reasonably expected and really went above and beyond! Tim kept in solid communication with updates, refunded the night we could not make it to the island, and gave us amazing flexibility dealing with the storm on our departure day. That type of understanding alone says a lot about the family that owns this property and that you are truly considered a guest in their family getaway, not merely a quick buck on the side. This experience deserves the highest rating I can give and I will definitely rent this property again when we return to the Vineyard.

Stunning Views and Comfortable Family Stay on Lake Tashmoo
Our stay at The Macy Family house was such a wonderful and memorable weekend. The house is much larger and nicer than even the photos communicate and the view from the house, the private beach on Lake Tashmoo and the private beach down the private road are spectacular. The wrap around decks and the view from the kitchen sink and dining table were incredible to wake up to! We made great use of the working fireplace, the washer dryer and the three main floor bedrooms. The house is almost unbelievably well-equipped with everything you need for a Holiday dinner (we stayed over Christmas) and the house was toasty and comfortable the entirety of our stay. The privacy and quiet of the road really made you feel like you were in your own private world and the nature surrounding the property is easy to get lost in all while only a seven minute drive from the ferry landing and stores and restaurants in Vineyard Haven. It is essential to rent an SUV as the road to the house would have been completely impassable in my Subaru so I was grateful to the other reviews which noted the road's condition. It was not an easily maneuverable road and I would definitely have caused damage to my vehicle if I had tried to make my vehicle work. The Macys were consistent and thorough in their communication and have gone out fo their way to mail me a lost item from our stay.

Well equipped comfortable house with a view
The Macy’s offer an excellent house, full equipped, convenient to Vineyard Haven. The property is actually better than portrayed in the listing. The setting is perfect with a lovely sunset view from the large porch, though the potholed access road is annoying. The house offers all you need for a stay and The Macy’s are very accommodating. Eight adults felt right at home. I’d consider making this spot an annual visit!

The house was lovely and it was a perfect place for a large family or group of friends. We loved sitting on both the upper and lower deck with cocktails or coffee and enjoying the view. Vacationing in the Verdant Vineyard
Our stay at the Macy's lovely property was excellent in all regards. The house overlooks Lake Tashmoo and the ocean beyond. It is well kept and is clearly a labor of love for the owners. We have never stayed at a VRBO rental property that was so well supplied which, as any traveler will tell you, is a key to having a wonderful stay. The communications between myself and one of the owners, Tim Macy, was first rate all the way...from initial e-mail exchanges, to last minute questions. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the, ummm, exotic nature of Herring Creek Drive, the half-mile or so road to the property. Bring a vehicle with plenty of clearance. That said, once you arrive, the pastoral serenity of the place is simply wonderful. Thank you!

Magical week!
My family and I had a wonderful week at the Macy property. The views are everything they are described as and more. The owner thought of every detail to ensure we had a wonderful stay! The road to get to the house is bumpy (as described), but manageable and likely cuts down on tourist traffic to the private beach at the end of the road. We are looking forward to staying there again next year!

Great access to Lake Tashmoo
The Macy home has a great view of the pond and across it to the ocean and sunset. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding right from the property. Every morning we biked to Vineyard Haven for scones. Anything you could need is here for you. Beach towels, beach chairs, cookware for whatever you want to make, puzzles, bandaids, plenty of clothes hangers… you get the idea. Great to have wood floors instead of carpets in a rental. Being able to store our bikes in the garage out of the rain was a nice bonus. The main thing to consider before booking is whether or not you can handle no AC for sleeping.

Fantastic location
I have been going to the Vineyard for 45 years. My needs have changed over the years, but I have to say this house was one of the best houses that I have ever rented. If you want a place where you do not have to get into your car or leave the house to have a wonderful day, then this is the place for you. The views are spectacular. My family swam in the water in front of the house, we rented kayaks for the week, rode our bikes and walked into town. Of course you can always get in your car to get to your other favorite spots on the island. I almost do not want to give the place such a great review because I want to keep it a secret just for me! Was the house brand new, no, but it was very clean and all of the appliances were new and upscale. The place was well equipped and had everything that you could possibly need. Fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs and towels, linens, and more. My family and I loved our week! I give the house my highest recommendation.

The perfect family retreat.
My wife and I, along with our 2 daughters and son-in-law were fortunate to find the Macys gorgeous home on VRBO, and had a magnificent week there. The pictures do not do it justice. The views are magnificent, the house is fully stocked, and Tim is available almost immediately when needed. Comfortable beds, combined with 3 floors of living space to spread out in helped make the stay perfect. We cannot WAIT to get back there!

Getaway with friends
My group and I had a wonderful stay at the Macy home in Tisbury. The house was clean, spacious, beautiful and private. There were a lot of nice touches like a welcome basket and travel-size toiletries provided in case we forgot to bring anything that were greatly appreciated. We particularly enjoyed the covered deck upstairs as we unfortunately didn't have the best weather during our visit, but that way we were still able to take in the view and spend time outdoors. I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back again!

We took a much needed, "post-pandemic" girls trip to Martha's Vineyard and we could not have asked for a more idyllic home. The views from all of the decks are stunning, the neighborhood is serene, and the house has every amenity you could possibly want or need. Lovey house on the water
House is wonderful with full kitchen with pots, pans, plates, utensils, and lots of cooking supplies. Gas stove with 5 burners. Food processor/orange juicer. Toaster. Microwave. Every appliance it top-of-the-line. Very clean. Everything is labeled. Great furniture. 4 bedrooms and another room with two twins. Two bathrooms, both shared, but that's typical on the Vineyard. Easy walk to the beach.

Picture Perfect
We rented this property for Thanksgiving and could not have been happier! The house definitely feels like a home and had everything we needed to celebrate Thanksgiving with our loved ones. We all agree that the best part of the house was unquestionably the view, it could not be beat. The check in process was seamless and the Macy’s checked in via email often both before and during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be visiting Lake Tashmoo again soon!

Wonderful stay on a relaxing property
Perfect spot for our family to rest and relax for a few days in October. The location and view at the house was even better and more beautiful then we expected, most of our time was spent on the little private beach and on the decks just admiring the view. The house was very well-equipped, I can't imagine anything it may have been missing (including a welcome-abundance of cleaning supplies!). We also appreciated how easy check-in was and how well detailed the information we received before arriving.

Paradise at the Vineyard
Amazing, amazing, amazing! The macy’s were easy to communicate with and always answered within minutes when we had questions. I went with a family of 10 total for a reunion of sorts and it was perfect. The view was perfections the house was roomy and open. We put all the windows open and let the breeze in and the no AC was no problem at all. The little beach was awesome as well with crystal clear water. Only a short drive to main st and within 15 min from Edgartown and oaks bluff. It is a bumpy drive to get to the house which I do not think a regular car would be able to make very easy. I would recommend having some sort of an SUV or CUV. Overal a great team though. If your looking to relax on the island with a large group then this is the place. We could have easily fit another couple as well.

Wonderful property and owner
We had a great stay with extended family. The owner kept in touch with us throughout the stay and made sure we had everything we needed. Location is great, just outside vineyard haven, just a 5 minute drive or 15 minute bike ride. The property is on a long dirt road, so just keep that in mind.
The view from the property is amazing. The access to Tashmoo pond is a definite plus. I would highly recommend this property

A great escape from it all!
We had such a wonderful time! Tim the owner is very nice, organized and responsive. The house is well maintained (and well stocked) and has amazing views of Lake Tashmoo. A perfect getaway to get close to nature and spend quality time with friends and family. Our family enjoyed the tranquility and beauty of the lake from both the main deck and upper balcony. The house also offered easy access to kayaking and canoeing.

Perfect spot
I've been coming to the Vineyard for over twenty years but had never spent time near Lake Tashmoo. From its two decks and two upstairs bedrooms, the Macy house has a beautiful view of the lake and the ocean beyond and is a very pleasant walk along a country road to Tashmoo's beautiful beach. You can also take a shorter walk to an even quieter sound-side ocean beach. All that and you're also a quick drive into Vineyard Haven for shopping and restaurants.
The house itself was perfect for us. We were two couples, so we each took one of the upstairs bedrooms and shared the jack-and-jill bathroom. This may seem crazy, but my favorite part of the house was the king-size bed in the master bedroom! Many rental properties skimp on the bedding, but the beds in the Macy's house are downright luxurious, from the pillows to the mattress topper to the silky-soft sheets. My husband and I were so enamored with the bedding that we copied it for our own bed at home.
The open-plan downstairs was perfect for hanging out. We didn't use the kitchen for more than making coffee, but it was very well appointed. The appliances are high quality and there are plenty of dishes, glasses, and utensils. Just outside the main living area is a deck the width of the house where you can sit and listen to the birds and watch the water. (You can do the same upstairs.) The outdoor furniture is comfy, too.
The Macys provide thoughtful touches--like a welcome basket with coffee, tea, sugar, oatmeal, and delicious Macy family crackers, and (in each bathroom) a collection of toiletries in case you forgot your toothpaste or shampoo. They sent an extensive guide to the house (and provided a printed copy in the house as well) and were very easy to communicate with.
The October 2019 weekend that we booked for our trip happened to coincide with subtropical storm Melissa, which disrupted ferry service for TWO full days, meaning no one was getting to or from the island. I've never seen any disruptions of this duration in my years of going to the Vineyard, and most of the shopkeepers I talked to said the same thing. Unfortunately for us, we were scheduled to take the ferry on the first day of disruption, so we missed two days of our 4-day vacation. But Tim was fantastically accommodating, applying our lost time to a future rental next spring. I want to emphasize that he had no obligation to do so! We have already booked a long weekend in May and are so looking forward to returning.

Peaceful Stay and Beautiful Views
This was a wonderful place for a group of friends and family to stay while attending a wedding. One of the vest equipped kitchens of any vacation home I've used and a thoughtful assortment of supplies provided by the owner. The view from this home is engaging and I'm sure the beach must be delightful in the summer months. Spotlessly clean and well appointed. The owner was quick to respond to questions, the guide left for guests, and the information provided prior to arrival were all exceptionally complete. I highly recommend this location. The only possible downfall would be the short dirt road to the home, if that sort of thing bothers you.

A perfect “girls trip” destination
If you are looking for a beautiful gathering place featuring amazing sunsets, then look no further. From the moment I booked this property I knew it was going to be special, but oh my it Exceeded our expectations. We all arrived from different parts of the country to relax, unwind and explore Martha’s Vineyard. All communication with the Macy family was excellent. The house had everything we needed. We felt blessed to reunite as friends and spend our evenings on the balcony with wine & cheese while viewing the sunset. Most Uber drivers arrived within 10-15 minutes. We enjoyed walking in to Vineyard Haven for coffee and a little exercise in the morning.

Beautiful setting, charming Vineyard home
We all had an amazing time at the Macy house on Lake Tashmoo. The location is fantastic—close enough to all the down island towns to make going out easy, but with a peaceful and secluded feel that tempts you to stay in. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets from our deck, and swimming and hanging out at the private beach on Tashmoo. The house was clean, comfortable and stocked with everything we needed—including beach towels, great beach chairs, and all kitchen gadgets. Games and TV service, WiFi, etc., were very much appreciated. We loved the outdoor shower. We could tell the house was much loved and are grateful for the warm welcome we received. Thank you, Tim and Bobbie, for being such gracious and attentive hosts—we only regret we weren’t able to stay longer!
