We booked this location very last minute as our holiday plans were derailed with cancellations elsewhere.
We arrived pretty late and had a slight issue upon arrival in which the property owner quickly rectified within 24 hours.
Location is ideal for hiking in Acadia, which we did 2 days of, enjoying driving from lighthouse to lighthouse and all the lobster in the area. We immensely enjoyed the canoe that was accessible with the property. Overall house was well maintained and stocked. The only recommendation I would provide is to have non slip shower strips installed. Would stay again.

Lovely home and a beautiful setting. We loved our time on McCurdy Pond, swimming off the rock and enjoying all that the area has to offer.

We have stayed in this home 3 times over the past 12 years and it doesn't disappoint. The woodsy setting is unique to a "lakefront" home and the large grass yard is great. McCurdy Pond is beautiful and quiet, especially this time of the year. The home had everything that we needed, but could use a little maintenance and upkeep. The kitchen utensils were a bit lacking and there could be more seating in the main living room based on the number of guests that can be accommodated. Several of the lightbulbs in the home need/needed replaced and during heavy rain on Saturday evening, there was a minor leak from one of the skylight windows in the upstairs queen bedroom, which made its way (possibly) to the closet in the first floor master.
Again, the home was clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would certainly stay here again and recommend to others.

We enjoyed our stay in Bremen. The house was beautiful and clean.

this is a nice, simple home in a perfect location. Especially excellent for pets!

We were so happy to be back at McCurdy Pond after several years away. It’s so peaceful, with great swimming, paddling and just reading lakeside! And near to the ocean too. The house is great. I even got to enjoy the walk down to the water—a well maintained mossy path. My only complaint was with VRBO, which blocked my access to the owner’s check-in instructions and wifi password, causing me to have to call on arrival ( which was immediately answered).

Our family had a lovely time at this property. The lake was great with a few little islands and rocks that were fun to paddle board around.
There was a window unit air conditioner I’m not sure if it was listed, but it was definitely appreciated. And I t’s true the walk to the lake is a little long and winding, but it’s also beautiful!
We would visit again.

This was our third summer stay at this house. It comfortably accommodated four adults, two children, one dog, and one parrot, with room for more. The lake is the standout feature, easily accessed via a short walk through the woods. Looking forward to returning! Thanks Dominick!

This property was very clean upon our arrival and appears well-kept. Furniture is in good repair and comfortable as are the beds. There is no air conditioning upstairs but there are fans. The kitchen area is small but served our needs well and it is well-equipped.
With all the torrential rains this summer the path to the lake was a bit mushy in places but all of us thought the path was beautiful and enjoyed the short walk to the lake.
The swimming at the lake was even better than we expected. There is a lovely large rock to sit on but there is also a very nice gradual, sandy entrance to the lake. There are some reeds, if you are squeamish about such things, but we loved the swimming and stayed in the water for hours. It's a beautiful, quiet lake/pond and the fishing was good.
A great vacation!

Quiet and peaceful location. House is airy with lots of natural light. A very enjoyable retreat.

Wonderfully private property and lovely trail (3 min) down to the lake where we canoed, fished and swam. The rock has a natural seat and there is a bench there but an additional one or some chairs would have been perfect. The loon calls were so peaceful, think it was my favorite part of our trip. The house was comfortable and spacious for our family of five and two dogs. The back steps off the deck might be a bit steep for senior guests. Really loved the fire pit and picked up some local firewood for $2 a bucket down the road. Would love to stay here again.

Great host, great house, great location, and one spectacular lake! We’ve stayed here twice now and would definitely stay again. Thanks Dom!

This home is beautiful and the outer surroundings are fabulous.
I would highly recommend air-conditioning on the upper level along with re-installation of window screens in an effort to gain reasonable ventilation.

Overall it was a great experience for 5 teen boys and 4 adults. Beds were very comfortable which makes a difference. The walk to the lake no ideal but we enjoyed the rock and swimming. It was great to be back in the area after 2 years off. Not far from all the great local attractions. Kitchen could use an update of cooking supplies but overall a great time. Thank you for sharing your Maine cabin.

Bremen Blessing
We all loved our stay on McCurdy pond. The house was just fine for our family who gathered to celebrate a birthday. Our favorite part was the rock, water, canoe and we brought kyacks too. The location of the house is perfect too. Spending July 4th there and giving thanks for our freedom was so memorable. Many, many thanks.

Pristine location
Such a beautiful house with interesting art, a stunning view over the lake and the best fishing and canoeing spot.
We would love to return to the same place again!
A few more mosquito screens would be amazing : to be able to keep windows open and listen to the earie calls of the Loon.

Very Nice!
The house is lovely and the pond is awesome! The house is nicer than the pictures show. The rock by the pond was a perfect place to relax! Everything is very clean. Absolutely no complaints there! I might suggest the owner checking in with the local property manager to be sure things are a little better stocked such as hand soap, tp, wood for the fire, etc. Would have been a 5 if all those things were handled. Otherwise it was great!

Wonderful week on McCurdy Pond
Our group of five adults and two teens had a great time swimming and paddling on the pond and hanging out at the house. The bedrooms were large and we were not crowded at all. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a bottle of wine when we arrived! Just a few miles to get to Damariscotta. Would definitely return!

Spacious home, beautiful location
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in Bremen with our two teenage sons. The home provided privacy, plenty of room for us to spread out, and a gorgeous lake on which to paddle, fish, swim, view loons, etc. All needed provisions were provided at the house (though we brought light beach chairs and a small collapsible table to hang out on the rock lakeside). The location also allowed us to explore the beautiful Bristol/Bremen/Pemiquid peninsula where we biked, hiked, ate amazing lobster rolls and dinners, got the ferry to Monhegan Island, etc. Thanks for the great week.

Scenic Maine woods
We had a great time in this house. Small walk to the lake front, with a canoe, and the water was beautiful. Ten or so minutes from a grocery store and also Damariscotta, which was a great town to visit.

We had a wonderful stay!
The home was large enough to accommodate 6 kids and 3 adults. We spent a fair amount of time during the week at the house and enjoyed the all of the surroundings... Including the wild life! It is easy to truly disconnect and relax! With such a large group, we ran out of room in the trash cans. I would only recommend additional trash cans be added. I would recommend this property to anyone that is ready to enjoy all that Maine midcoast had to offer!

October 2020
The overall property was nice, but could use a little TLC. The outside deck, house area and picnic table were weathered and in need of cleaning. We did have a glitch with hot water which was quickly remedied. The Manager and keeper of the property were very attentive. Overall stay was good.

getaway
It was a lovely home, VERY clean, We actually all brought sheets, pillows and blankets not sure what to expect and with (COVID worries) they all stayed in the car, the house was immaculate.
We left a day early, it was raining and our daughter and husband had planned on leaving Monday and we were going to stay overnight but left also, it was raining and forecast said it would also the following day so we headed home. No contact with the property manager, I'm sure if we did it would have been a positive experience. We txt the Penny the cleaning woman to let her know we left Monday so if she wanted to get in early she could. Only glitch the information sheet I received via email stated there was wood on the side of the house or in the garage, there was none. We reached out and was told they were not responsible for wood. The information sheet should be updated and remove that statement. We could not find any wood to purchase, but just picked up logs that were on the side of the driveway, so we were able to enjoy the fire pit.
We would recommend the property if your looking to relax and enjoy some Maine attractions

Great home with plenty of room, bedrooms, bathrooms and a 2 car garage. The house was very clean.
The lake was beautiful and could be seen from the house but was a good walk through a long path through the woods to reach it.

Kayak trip.
Spacious house, large rooms (except kitchen was small but functional). Enjoyed this property, nice walk to the lake and great granite ledge to swim from. Had everything we all needed for a great comfortable stay.

A Family Getaway Worth Waiting For!
This lovely home was the remote and roomy and homey backdrop for a wonderful vacation reconnecting with family in the midst of this crazy time of the pandemic. We had everything we needed to spend time together with rare need to leave the property. The littlest children thrived in the close location of the quiet water of McCurdy Pond and the grown ups enjoyed floating in afternoon flotillas and hanging out at the large dining room table. Nights were spent by the fire and then everyone was able to turn in to plenty roomy, clean beds for all. We hope to add a lake trip to our yearly traditions. This home was a delight. Our only concern was that trash pick up from the past tenants was not collected so things got pretty yucky by the garage by the end of the trip. Other than that it was magnificent! Thank you!

Almost Perfect!
The house was great and big. Kitchen very small.
Everything else was fine and to our liking. Upstairs bedrooms were hot. All in all we had a wonderful time. Great area to explore! So many lakes and the ocean, lighthouse, etc. The pond was quiet, except for the loons and ducks! Perfect for swimming and kayaking. I just wish it was closer and not such a hike. We really liked the seclusion of the house during Covid pandemic.
We might rent again.

Loved this oasis!!!
This was one of my favorite vacations! I felt so at home at this house. It was clean, roomy, and located in the most beautiful area. The walk down to the pond is a magical walk and then the view and water access once you get down there is awesome. We laid out, swam, fished, canoed on their conveniently provided canoe, and it was just the best few days. We got local lobster that was delicious (and got it two nights), and the nearby town was adorable. I want to stay here again ASAP but it’s all booked up! Will look at 2021.

Beautiful home with a view
We very much enjoyed the location of this property and the view of the lake was beautiful. We loved using the canoe and swimming in the lake.
The house does have a significant water problem in the upstairs master bedroom - water leaked through the skylight every time it rained, in the living room at the doors and in the garage. As long as the weather remained nice, this was very easy to look past.
We do hope to return again.

Summer get away
Our stay in Bremen was great! It was nice to get away with family. The house was clean and well maintained plenary of space for the 9 of us. Easy to get to and close to grocery store etc.. the owner was super nice and quick to respond to any inquiry’s we had. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was there really isn’t good swimming access. It’s a long walk through the woods and the big rock you can swim off is a resting place for the Lions so it’s covered with goose poop daily even after trying to clean it. We went to a separate beach two of the days. It was good for kayak to go fishing. One suggestion if they put a dock out in the water for swimming and jumping off of that would make a huge difference in the water experience. I would give 5 stars if that had existed.

Private and Peaceful
We have rented in Maine for over 30 years. Most recently, the last 12 years, at the same house on Weber Pond. Circumstances on the owners behalf prevented them from renting this year. Although we are very familiar with McCurdy Pond, we have never rented on it.
The overall experience was superb. The house and property more than met all our expectations. We are especially grateful to renters who allow dogs. We have two and they ARE our family. They enjoyed the place maybe even more than we did. It's a wonderful location-very private, pristine water and canoes too!- and the house is open and spacious and had many amenities. I would have given 5 stars but the cleaning was less than desirable. The bedrooms and baths were tended to well... but... the kitchen appliances (toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker)and outdoor grill were dirty and need to be cleaned. The outdoor grill was basically unusable and we ended up buying a portable Weber grill to use. Also some of the furniture had blue magic marker on it and the dining room table and seat cushions had dried egg yolk under the glass and on the seats. Needless to say our first morning was spent in cleaning! The property manager, Marty, and his son were very responsive to the refrigerator and washing machine repair resulting from the previous renters.
All in all we LOVED the place. Loved it so much that we have already booked it for next year!

Peaceful stay on beautiful property
We had a wonderful time, canoeing on the pond, swimming and watching loons. The owner accommodated our unexpected arrival a day early, which was very kind, and the property manager was responsive and efficient. We hope to be back next year.

Family reunion vacation
The house and property were perfect. Lovely, quiet setting with a view of the lake and a short walk on a lovely wooded path to the lakeshore. There were no motor boats on the lake and it was quiet and warm. Great fire pit. Owner was extremely responsive and when we had an issue with one of the door latches, the property manager arrived to address the problem within an hour. Great spot for a family vacation in Maine!

Peaceful Beauty
Our family just returned from a very relaxing week long stay in this beautiful home. The house is furnished with everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. Our youngest members swam by the rock and fished and our older folks enjoyed canoeing around the pond. The location is perfect for all mid coast Maine activities from visiting Pemaquid Point to the Maine Coastal Garden In Boothbay. At night we all enjoyed campfires. Our family of eight, six adults and two children would love to return! The owner was very responsive which we greatly appreciated. We would highly recommend this house

Bad management and cleaning crew
The house location is appealingly get-away-from-it-all rural and woodsy. But, neither AT&T nor Consumer Cellular cell service is available at residence; no clue about other providers. Nearest service is 10 minutes away at McDonald's. If there's an emergency during your stay - fire, break-in or medical, you may have no access to 911.
We arrived early October; nightly temps were in low 40's. The baseboard heating worked only in the MB. The entire upstairs and remainder of 1st floor were icy cold. Contacted property manager, Marty, immediately. Never heard back from Marty. Ever. Owner e-mailed that he'd get on it "asap", but he lives in South Florida, was dealing with Cat 4 hurricane Michael. We're elderly, made effort not to be pesky about the heater. Heater wasn't repaired during our stay. Mornings were particularly brutal. Wore all the clothing we had, but the biting cold gnawed to our marrow, confining us to the MB and small TV room where we used a space heater we purchased locally.
Suffering the cold from the broken heater turned other flaws into issues: Two bags of long-rotting, past-tenant garbage on garage floor stunk up the garage - and the car if it were parked there; I moved the bags to a can outside. Dust bunnies and light debris were abundant under MB bed and headboard; same with sofa in small TV room. Reddish-tinged mold was in corners of MB shower. Stovetop cooking coils don't fit properly, causing pans placed on them to tip at an angle; make using stove awkward. The provided canoe has a broken seat. Etc.
At 6 days, we exceeded our tolerance for the frigid house when my wife fell ill with a URI (from the chill?). Paying a fee to change our flight, we left for home on the 7th of 10 scheduled days. Owner Dominick promptly refunded the 3 days we didn't stay, plus the price of the space heater we bought for the TV room. No comps or apologies for 6 days of icy house due to broken heater.
Our intent for Maine was to unwind, relax at the property, enjoy the pond and bucolic surrounds. Ends up, we hated every moment in that less-than-clean ice house where the air and every surface were perpetually cold. Possibly worse was being utterly disrespected and ignored by management that also leaves rotting garbage, a messed up stove and busted canoe. The house could be a pleasant, wooded getaway near a pond - if it's clean and everything works, but definitely needs new property management and a new cleaning crew. We cannot recommend it as is.

Lovely, tranquil, comfortable, very clean house
We had a wonderful stay at McCurdy Pond. The house is so comfortable and conducive to a group. It is also well equipped, has a beautiful deck that looks out over the pond, which is great for swimming, and was very clean and tidy. The lake is lovely and quiet. Easy access to town and surrounding areas. The property manager was great to worth with and gave excellent instructions. I would definitely recommend this property.
