This is our second fall renting this house. There is nothing like sitting on the deck or dock at this lovely property. It would be wonderful if we could move the road that goes around the corner on the other side of the trees (trucks have to downshift), but that aside, the lake is generally incredibly peaceful. The inside of the house is well-equipped and beautifully decorated. There was room for our two guests who stayed a couple of nights with us, and they felt as comfortable as we did. Really appreciated the owners keeping the dock up into October for us. We have loved the location for all the side trips we have wanted to take over the past two years.

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting and is, as advertised, close to Boothbay Harbor and quaint towns like Newcastle.

Home was beautiful, clean, spacious with wonderful outdoor decks. We used the grill and that was great too. We were in town for a wedding at Wanderwood. Perfect location. Easy everything

Newcastle Lake House is a well-appointed home with great living space, bedrooms, and kitchen for family use. The deck and view are lovely and the location is perfect to enjoy Damariscotta and take an easy drive to Boothbay, New Harbor and Round Pond areas. We wouldn't hesitate to rent this house again--a wonderful experience start to finish! Clear and some check in and check out instructions are an added bonus!

We had a wonderful time at this house! We had 10 girls for a long weekend and the house was beautiful, there was plenty of room, the deck was spacious and the dock access was perfect. We will definitely be saving this location for future trips !

Chandler was amazing! She came to the property the next day after we arrived and did everything she could to fix the problems and was patient and understanding. However, the excellent service stopped there. Our dishwasher stopped working and we were told it could not be repaired during our stay because servicemen were in short supply. We had no use of the dishwasher and had to wash everything by hand. We were surprised that your company did not have skilled personnel to take care of this. When we asked for a late check out all we got was excuses and delays and promises. Every time I sent a text message I would get back an automatic reply as if no one was really paying attention to us. We finally got an answer that they would charge us $40 to check out at noon instead of 10 AM. No consideration was given to us for all of the inconvenience that we suffered. A very disappointing experience other than working with Chandler who is an asset to your company. The property was extremely clean and beautiful. However, I think it is important for guests to know that the road is close by and there is a lot of road noise even at the back of the house. Also, the house behind us was being renovated and that was also occasionally disruptive. That was something that should’ve been disclosed in the property description to prospective guests.

Stay was fine-exhaust fan on stove broken; noticed odor from master bath area-had to leave window cracked to dissipate smell. Construction going on next door. A lot of heavy trucks went by on road making it noisy during the day. Unable to get regular channels on TV-not a fan of TV package. Had problem entering on arrival due to someone locking door improperly from inside. Caretaker arrived to collect trash & was able to let us in. Glad we didn't get there at night. Cleaning people should be more careful how they lock the door.

This property is located in a beautiful setting on a lake. The porches offer several areas to view the wildlife that visit the property and the home is welcoming with lots of amenities. We enjoyed being located so close to Damariscotta and other coastal towns and trails. The hosts have thought of everything and made our stay an amazing one.

House is nicely appointed and spacious. Very large deck with gas firepit, large gas grill and plenty of seating; dock on the lake with comfortable chairs and beautiful view of lake. Kitchen well equipped and all new appliances. Two upstairs bedrooms have one AC unit in hallway - upstairs gets pretty warm when temps are above 80 degrees outside. Otherwise house was great for our family reunion.

It didn't feel too isolated but still felt like we had our space. Recommendations: The property had 1 tv in the shared space, which is tough when you are in a bigger party. We loved the location, amenities in the home, the dock and deck were all top notch. Beds were comfy and warm inside with easy entrance and security. Only issue was periodic smell in the kitchen after shower/washing machine use. It smelled like septic backing up, but only after use of the shower/washing machine and only in the kitchen. We contacted property manager and she called the plumber 3 times, with no response. She was very responsive to our concerns via text. A handyman showed up the next day and could appriciate the smell, but on a lesser degree. We only had a 4 night stay, so unsure if problem persisted or if it was due to the system not being used in the days or weeks prior. Overall great place with everything you need, just the smell kind of made it tough at times, but would clear out in 15 minutes after shower use with opened windows...luckily is was cool (October), but not cold outside.
