We stayed 2 weeks in the villa and we enjoyed every minute. It is a very nice and big house that comes with everything you need. The garden is very nice and well maintained. And the pool is simply awesome. Everything was very clean and during our stay the garden was trimmed once and the pool cleaned twice. The sourrounding is very quiet and you only hear the sheeps bells, birds and the bees buzz. The view towards the bay and on the other side snow covered mountains is simply breathtaking. The path to the house is a bit rocky and rough but we can highly recommend the place.

If you want a quiet, relaxing, first class holiday, this is for you. Lovely, well equipped Villa, superb infinity pool, really well kept gardens and absolutely fantastic views over the bay and the mountains. You need a car as the Villa is at the end of a 900 meter dirt track but that has its advantages as there is no passing traffic except maybe the goats and sheep! There are local tavernas and mini market but if you are prepared to go a little further afield there are lots of beaches, restaurants and shops within easy reach. We had a superb holiday and would not hesitate to go back (travel restrictions allowing)

Our family stayed for 2wks in Aug 2021. Kefalas The location is off the beaten track, and does require driving on rocky pathway (600m) from the nearest proper road, but it's well worth it. The location is absolutely breathtaking and secluded. Villa The villa itself is compact & comfortable, adequately clean, and yes there are insects if you leave food lying around like any place in a natural habitat - we weren’t too concerned, just be disciplined to clean the kitchen after use. Recommend storage of food in jars, Tupperware or fridge. The kitchen is small, and probably could do with an overhaul. All the rooms are AC fitted. TV had issues, but do you really need it on holiday? WiFi is not super fast but adequate, so was somewhat puzzling to have to pay extra… better include it from the beginning. The villa’s main electricity operates when a plastic card is inserted into a wall socket, with the main house keys tied together, locking the main door for the evening, meant the whole villa would go dark temporarily. Moreover, we couldn’t leave the dishwasher or the washing machine running while we were out, so plan to run these immediately back on arrival. Garden During the day, as it's high up on the hills, the sea breeze is comforting against the heat. If the beach waves are a bit rough due to strong winds, the villa’s garden pool is not a bad alternative. At night, low light pollution means you benefit from the spectacle of stars/Milky Way above you! Goats roam the neighbouring olive farms so if you’re an early bird, you may hear their bells. Infinity Pool is cool and always fresh as water supply trickling in, the villa and the garden is fully landscaped and irrigated. Our visit coincided with Figs and small Oranges being ripe - so combining it with cheese, was perfect snack. BBQ hut was very useful extension to the kitchen. Owner Pon, the friendly landlord is always readily available for help. We appreciated the 'hands’-on approach whenever we needed him - from detailed directions on arrival to where to go for dinner/shopping. You can’t help but be impressed by the care he gives to his villa/garden, especially compared to the surrounding harsh landscape and terrain… it really stand out as an oasis on top of the hill. Overall, we were extremely happy with the villa - If you’re looking for a chilled out family Villa, set amongst an unspoilt Cretan countryside, but with all the modern comforts, this is definitely the place to stay!

A beautiful view with a great outside patio. With that being said the inside of the home was dirty and smelly. There were ants in the kitchen and while watching TV an error message kept appearing, something about the wireless adapter. All channels were in German. Again, we loved the outside pool, view and grill area but inside of the home needs some work. Owner called me the day of making reservation and asked how many people were staying. Upon answering he said he has to charge extra for additional cleaning services. I did not understand this explanation as cleaning services are already included in the cost of the rental. After researching this same home for different dates with 4 guests, the price did not change. Had the home inside been cleaner, maintained and without insects we would have been much happier with our stay.

The villa is in a very beautiful place with stunning views across the bay. When we arrived it was spotlessly clean with some really nice welcoming touches. Because of the location of the villa, views from the bedroom balconies (especially the sunrise, if you're up early enough) are beautiful. The grounds around the building are well maintained with apple, grapefruit and olive trees. The villa itself is clean and well equipped with all that is needed.The infinity pool is perfect for being in and looking across the bay. The outside kitchen/barbeque is perfect for a long lazy evening. Kefalas village is only a 20 minute walk away, with bars and tavernas, a kids playground and two supermarkets. The walk through the village especially at night back to the villa is something nice. Pon, the owner is a really nice person, we had niggling concerns over the pool (there was a morning of high winds which blew some surface soil into the water, not enough to make it unusable, it just didn't look very inviting), but with one phone call it was sorted with the pool man coming around the next day. Pon even phoning back to make sure it had been cleaned. Because of the Covid restrictions nowhere was especially busy, but that in an unusual way added to its charm. We would highly recommend this villa.

well maintained and presented all clean and servicable,only drawback no maid service midweek and having to take rubbish to nearest bins on main road, there was no rubbish bags for use in the kitchen or for the 2 bathrooms if every visitor purchased a roll of bags there would be hundreds of bags at the end of the year should really be supplied,you need a 4x4 to navigate the track as there is a large rock protruding in the last left hand turn towards property and as it was dark on our approach on arriving we bottomed out on it as we only has a city car.

Where do I start?! We had such an amazing time at this beautiful three bedroom villa. The garden was beautiful on arrival, with fig, Apple and olive trees. The view was breathtaking, I had to pinch myself. Such an amazing setting in a remote location for true peace and quiet. Only the gentle sound of goat bells and crickets! The swimming pool is a great size, clean and lovely temperature. The children (7,5&1) were delighted to see the pool and many inflatables/toys kindly left by the owner for us when we arrived. They jumped straight in! In terms of other things that helped us as parents, was a great high chair, a proper sturdy comfortable cot and blackout shutters in all the rooms. Plastic cups and bowls and little forks for kids-could do with plastic plates too. The beds were sturdy and comfortable mattresses which make a huge difference once in holiday. Pon the owner helped us so much to enjoy the holiday, he arranged a rental car with a competitive price (with free child seats and additional driver-and no hidden costs!! ) He prepared the villa for the children with swimming pool toys, inflatables, games and even a Buggy for my 1yo! It was a bit old-but did the trick and saved us bringing one! (We carried on a beach trailer instead of buggy!) Pon responded to any queries we had and has a fantastic welcome team who would rush out to bring us things we needed, like an extra sheet or a broken item etc.... We were so impressed. When we arrived, it was late at night and we had bought a bag of Cheerios for breakfast.... but Pon has supplied a bowl of fresh fruit, long life milk, tea and coffee-which was so very thoughtful. The villa is down a windy/bumpy track-which is a little rustic-but only makes the location more special and secluded on arrival. The village is a 5 min drive away which has a couple of mini markets and two restaurants. One restaurants backs onto a park-so is ideal to relax whilst the kids play and you can watch them. Our favourite beach was Kalyves-at the far right side was a perfect location for kids as road was far away. The beach bars and tavernas are all along the beach. The water is clear and warm! We loved Almyrida beach too-far left of beach was a “baby pool” which was a shallow rock pool that the kids played in for hours-safe and sound! We loved our holiday and would highly recommend to families or to a few couples for an adult get away! Thank you to Pon-who went above and beyond!

Hade en jättebra semester i denna villa. Lugnt och tyst ställe, precis det vi ville ha på vår semester! Helt fantastik utsikt både mot havet och mot bergen! Rent i huset och lätt incheckning. Körde dit enligt GPS, så kan inte säga hur lätt väganvisningen är. Pon, ägaren, svarade snabbt på våra meddelanden och kom till villan med mera poolleksaker och frukt till barnen vilket uppskattades mycket. Sista vägen upp till villan hade vi inte några problem att varken köra på eller promenera ner till byn. Barnen i åldrarna 5 och 7 hade inte heller problem att promenera till byn i bara sandaler. Poolen är stor och där spenderad vi flera timmar varje dag. Vi lagade den mesta maten själva i villan på grund av allergier så kan inte säga något om restaurangerna i byn. Finns två små butiker där man kan handla det mesta dock ganska dyrt, men vi körde till Lidl för att storhandla och få ett bättre utbud. Kan varmt rekommendera denna villa och Pon som ägare. Tack!

We had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful villa, pretty gardens, amazing views of sea and mountains. The villa was clean and comfortable. The pool was immaculate and we enjoyed using the bbq. Hired a car, but didn’t really use it during the week as it took us 20 mins to walk to the village where there were 2 well stocked shops, helpful local people, and a choice of 3 restaurants. We had a minor issue with electricity in one bedroom, but this was fixed by our host straight away. The villa had lots of information about places to visit, but our surroundings were so beautiful, we didn’t feel the need to travel! We particularly enjoyed the evening and morning goat bells! Definitely somewhere we would recommend, and very much hope to go again.

We had a very relaxing holiday and the villa was lovely as described. The views are breathtaking and the location secluded and peaceful. The outside space of the villa makes it extra special as the pool is a good size and the pool area and gardens around the villa are very spacious and well kept. The bbq house is an extra bonus. A large car or 4x4 is recommended for going up and down the track to the villa as it’s a bit bumpy, but as we had a 4x4 it was fine for us. There are some lovely villages and beaches within easy driving distance and are documented in both the comments book (written by previous guests) and in the welcome pack provided. We tried out several of the recommended places and loved them all. Octopus bay was stunningly beautiful and the open air/ top restaurants in Almyrida overlooking the sea were our favourites. Pon the owner of the villa was easily accessible for any questions and provided excellent instructions for both getting to the villa and suggestions on a good local car hire company which we used. Overall we would highly recommend this beautiful villa for anyone looking for peace, quiet and tranquility. 10/10!!

This villa is in a beautiful remote location with sea views and surrounded by mountains. It is very peaceful and the close neighbouring property is empty and the other neighbour is not too close. The pool is perfect with lots of toys for children and adults alike. There is lots of outdoor space to enjoy and provide shade. It is well landscaped and has a great bbq house. The villa has everything you need and is well equipped. It is acceptably clean, however would benefit from a thorough once over. There were some batteries missing from the aircon controls and bulbs missing from bedside lamps. An outside storage facility for bin bags would be useful, so the full bags weren't hanging around until the next trip to the communal village rubbish bins. We walked daily to Kefalas along the dirt track, bumpy in the car but we managed fine with our pushchair. 2 well-supplied shops; 2 friendly restaurants and 2 little parks perfect for the kids. The nearest beaches are a 10/15 minute drive, Almyrida is particularly pretty with a narrow sandy beach and shallow waters. The owner went above and beyond for us and this was really appreciated. A great value holiday, we would definitely return if we came back to Crete.

The villa was magnificent and views were were breath-taking, especially in the evening.The swimming pool was very fun, we enjoyed it. The entire village was welcoming, the food was delicious and there were loads of things to see and do. It was a ten minute drive to Octopus bay, where you can see the coastal line of Crete. It was great holiday and we enjoyed it very much. Thank you for letting us stay at this villa!

Wir verbrachten eine wunderschöne entspannte Woche mit der Familie in der Villa in Kefalas. Das Haus ist geräumig und gemütlich eingerichtet, ebenso der Garten. Man hat einen atemberaubenden Blick auf das Meer und angrenzende Buchten und hat es mit dem Auto nicht weit zum Strand, in andere nette Städte oder zum Flughafen. Auch zu empfehlen war die Anreise im Frühling, da alles noch schön grün war und geblüht hat, wobei die Temperaturen noch recht angenehm waren. Des Weiteren muss ich nochmal ein großes Dankeschön an den Vermiter P. Logan aussprechen, der uns bei Fragen oder Problemen immer zur Seite gestanden ist! Sogar als einer unserer Mitreisenden seinen Schlüssel nach Abreise in der Villa vergessen hatte, wurde sich sofort darum gekümmert! Zusammengefasst war es durch und durch ein sehr schöner Urlaub, wobei die Unterkunft hierbei eine großes Stück beigetragen hat. Wir würden nächstes Frühjahr gerne wieder kommen!

De locatie van deze villa is uniek. Met zicht op zee en de bergen en in volledige stilte geniet je hier van de natuur. Het mooie zwembad, de schaduw onder de palmbomen, het degelijk uitgerust huis staan garant voor een mooi verblijf. Vooral ook het unieke dorpje waar je in restaurants lekker kunt eten, zorgt voor een authentieke sfeer. De bezienswaardigheden op Kreta zijn vlot bereikbaar. Op amper een uurtje ben je aan de zuidelijke Libische zee met spectaculaire verzichten. Sommige mensen schrijven "hier komen we vast en zeker terug ". Wij schrijven dit niet: wij kwamen er al een 2de keer en... Els en Paul

The property is stunning. Very clean and equipped with everything we needed for our holiday stay. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace was a cosy and beautiful touch during the chilly evenings. The BBQ facilities and pool outside we also fab. The views were truly breathtaking with Snow capped mountains on one side and water views on the other. They just took our breath away as we inhaled the clear fresh air and heard the faint bells of the local goats grazing nearby. The road leading to the villa was a bit rough but you do get used to it. It added to the rural charm and privacy of the location and made us feel like we were in the the real Crete. The location was convenient to both Chania to the West and Rhethmo to the East. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable of the area and the owner made the booking process easy to use with prompt confirmations and replies to our requests. Overall, I would highly recommend this villa to my friends and family and look forward to returning for our next holiday.

We are a family of four that recently returned from a fantastic holiday in Crete. Our villa was simply stunning. We arrived at midnight, following fantastic directions and were very impressed with what we saw. The villa was very clean and tidy with beds were made up and ready for us. But when we opened the shutters in the morning the view took our breath away. The sun was streaming over the bay with the mountains in the backround and the tinkle of goat bells added to the moment. This was the perfect start to our holiday! The pool was stunning very clean and pool toys available for younger children. There were plenty of sun loungers to use. The BBQ area was well equipped and the garden was well cared for and beautiful,with fruit trees everywhere. The area is incredibly peaceful and the perfect place to relax and unwind. The local village is nearby and has good shops and restaurants. Very reasonable and fantastic food. We ventured out daily and explored much of the area. There are numerous beaches nearby, some with tavernas along the beach and others were very quiet so the choice is yours. The local villages are so pretty and everyone we met were very friendly and lovely. The welcome team were fantastic and at hand if we needed them. The owner has always contacted me if I had and questions. This was our first trip to Crete and we couldn't have wished for a better start. We will definitely return.

We absolutely loved our stay in this villa and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family. The villa and pool are just as they are presented in the photos, with both being exceptionally clean. The pool, garden and patio areas are beautiful and peaceful, a great place to relax. We all loved the pool, especially our children who would have stayed in all the time if they had their way. The villa is well equipped with all you could need and the views are really lovely. Our favourite were the mountains behind the villa. The location is ideal if you prefer a bit of quiet away from things and we easily walked to Kefalas with our young children where the taverna and shop are great. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby so there's plenty to do if you don't want to spend all the time in the pool. The owners were really helpful answering our queries before going and provide great directions to get to the villa. Overall a fabulous place to stay and we definitely hope to return soon.

Als ervaren huurders bij Owner's Direct hadden we het geluk alweer een prachtige locatie te ontdekken ditmaal een exclusieve villa in Kefalas. Het machtig, weids uitzicht over de zee, in combinatie met de witte bergen is inderdaad stunning! De stilte: onvergetelijk. De tuin oogt exotisch en is perfect onderhouden. Het zwembad: zalig om te dobberen en weg te dromen in het vergezicht over zee, een frisse verkoeling op deze mooie dagen. De accommodatie is uitstekend en netjes onderhouden. Overal is er airco. De keuken is goed uitgerust. De buitenkeuken met de BBQ is ook handig. Grillen met op de achtergrond het gerinkel van de geitebellen: grappig. Het hartelijke welkom- team Teresa en Mike begeleide ons bij aankomst en waren bereikbaar als we ze nodig hadden. Ze passeerden een keer heel snel voor een probleempje met de wifi. Het dorpje Kefalas is een rustige oase waar de nodige essentiële bevoorrading kan gebeuren. Er zijn 2 restaurants die elk hun specialiteiten hebben. Hier proef je de Kretenzische sfeer het best. De contacten met de eigenaar Mr Logan verliepen ook in een aangename sfeer. Hij is duidelijk iemand die zeer nauwlettend toekijkt of zijn gasten het volledig naar wens hebben. We very much enjoyed our stay at the villa, we found the villa to be well appointed, having absolutely everything that we needed for our stay. A particular plus of the villa was the pool and both of our boys had this most amazing time, often playing from morning until night. The location of the villa was perfect for us, balancing a very relaxing quiet retreat, but yet being close enough to the main roads to allow us to explore the local surrounding areas. We really liked how it had a really ‘local’ feeling, being a short journey from Kafalas, yet close enough to the more touristy resort of Georgioupoli. We didn’t have any reason to call the welcome team during our stay, so I couldn’t comment on this aspect, but the directions and access to the villa was absolutely perfect and made our arrival and departure from the villa very simple. The perfect place for families to stay and unwind.

The villa is very pretty in a lovely setting with pretty shrubs and a pool at the front. Views are stunning as everyone else has stated. The drive way or farmers track which you needed to drive up and down to get to the villa is over 1 kilometre long and not just gravel, there are big stones jutting out of the drive and even with driving at 5 miles per hour you are shaken around and the bottom of your car is scraped! Due to the poor condition of the drive way or farmers track we did not walk into Kefalas at night, however, during the day in daylight with walking boots on it is a 20 minutes walk at a good pace. We agree with the other review that it is a shame about the poor condition of the drive way/farmers track. We do not agree with the description of a less than 15 min walk into Kefalas. The property was clean upon arrival, however, we had expected clean towels etc during our 2 week stay and was disappointed when we found out that this was available only at an extra charge. We were also disappointed with the 'welcome team'. We never saw them during our stay & when we had a power cut during a storm at 11am we had to text them several times to find out what was happening and eventually they came out around 7.30pm to look into it for us. By which time the power supply had been resumed in the area. I guess it depends on what you expect from a 'welcome team'! We expected them to keep us informed of the power cut situation as we sat in the villa all day without electricity. The two tavernas in Kefalas are excellent. Our favourite was the Meterizi which offered very good food at very affordable prices. You can get a lovely meal there for around EUR's 45.00 with wine for 4 people. There are a number of lovely beaches nearby with good tavernas too for an afternoon snack or a bigger meal if you desired.

We all (a family of five, children 9, 12 and 14 years) had a fantastic time. The pool and garden are beautiful ( best place for a sun lounger under the palm trees!) and the view from the balconies over the sea and mountains is fantastic. The next village Kefalas has a few small shops and two excellent tavernas. The gravel road to the villa is a bit of an uncomfortable drive, but it's not long and one is rewarded at arrival with a fantastic place to stay! We very much hope to come back some day!

We had a wonderful week’s holiday in this lovely Villa. The Villa itself was of fairly modern build and was very clean throughout with a fantastic Infinity pool that we used daily; the large garden provides ample shade and has seating in the shade. The views from the bedroom terraces were breathtaking, be it the mountains at the rear of the Villa or the sea to the front of the Villa. The Villa was off the beaten track but was in such a peaceful location and was very close to the local village of Kefalas where we regularly ate at one of the excellent restaurants near the village square. The extensive patio area beside the pool allowed us to follow the shade or sun as we wished. The BBQ house situated adjacent to the pool area was excellent and well equipped. There are several small villages close by that are well worth exploring and a variety of local restaurants that serve good food at very reasonable prices. The Villa booking process was effortless and the details provided by both the owner and the welcome team made for a memorable holiday. In summary, I would recommend this Villa to anyone who likes the quietness of Crete and wants to enjoy the peace and tranquility of a beautiful Villa location with stunning views looking out to sea.

We had a truly wonderful holiday - everything about it was superb. The pool was fantastic and clean (the pool team arrived on the day we came to ensure it was clean) The views from the balcony were incredible - we will never forget them. The garden was in good shape although the lawn could have been mowed before we arrived but it didn't deter our enjoyment of the outside area. We really enjoyed the BBQ facilities too! The villa was clean upon arrival so we were happy about that and the villa worked very well indeed. Nothing to complain about - we truly had a super time! I'm not quite sure how to start describing how amazing the villa is and what a great time we had but I will try. From the very moment we arrived at the villa we were speechless with its incredible location - the panoramic views of the mountains, sea and sky were just breathtaking. The villa itself is beautiful and is well enough equipped to make the stay very comfortable. We spent a few nights on the balcony watching the beautiful sunsets and then the after-dark amazing star shows. We kept the kids up late one night and all lay on the twin room balcony to watch the stars - magical :-) We explored the surrounding area and made many trips to Vamos - the ice-creams in the cafe next to the general store kept us coming back! We also spent a couple of days on Kalives beach where we could sit in a beach front taverna having a drink while the kids played on the beach. The area of Kefalas is lovely and we got a hot meal take out from the taverna there which was delicious. We went to the beaches around the area quite often as the pool hand't warmed up enough at this early stage of the season to use. My son didn't care however - we had to keep getting him out to warm up before he went back in again! The pool was clean and the children played for hours in the grounds of the villa. Great for kids (and for parents) being that the villa is enclosed so they can play without us having to worry about them wandering off. Georgeopoli was good at this time of year - not too busy but with plenty of restaurants and tavernas open unlike some of the other areas where nothing seemed to be opening until May. Hania was in easy distance so we had 3 trips there for shopping and food by the harbor. Such a beautiful city - we could happily live there. We were not so lucky with the weather the first week but it more than made for it by the second. Terresa and Mike (the welcome team) where really helpful and always on hand. They helped with any query and they also delivered to us a big load of firewood which was certainly needed as it was very cold in the evenings in the first week. Crete is special to us. We spent our honeymoon there 10 years ago this year. Coming back with our children and staying in your beautiful villa as a family has made it an even more special place to us. Our best family holiday yet. Thank you again. You made the organisation very easy & the place is simply stunning. We are already planning our return visit! A,L,S & L.

Almyros Bay Villa is the perfect hilltop retreat within 15 minutes of 6 beaches; it's peaceful with tremendous views and a perfect spot for total relaxation! The remote location means that there is almost no noise (day or night) other than an occasional goat in the field and splash of happy kids in the pool. The village of Kefalas was a complete and wonderful surprise too. Most evening there were local events or shows and even a 2km road race for the brave. Don't want to say too much otherwise we will never find a free fortnight to return!

We had a wonderful holiday in Alymros Villa! The villa is beautiful and the views are stunning, especially from the master bedroom balcony. The villa was very clean and tidy on arrival as was the garden. BBQ hut is a great touch. The infinity pool is gorgeous! Inka restaurant in Kefalas is great for food, we ate there a few times and it's good that you can order and then take the food back to the villa. Amazing holiday all round and we would definitely go back!

The views from the balconies are beyond breathtaking. I can see why you would want to retire here. The sounds that drift across the gardens are wonderful. The sheep bells jingling away and the birds twittering, the bees buzzing and the crickets chirping... All so idyllic! The Villa was very clean on our arrival and there was toilet tissue in each bathroom and some washing liquid and a dish cloth in the sink which was helpful. The oven was spotless as were the bathrooms and the towels were lovely and fresh and clean. We found everyone we met so friendly, and the area so peaceful, so very pretty and picturesque. I cannot express how breathtaking some of those mountain views are, how blue to the sea was and how colourful the flowers were. Crete really does have something for everyone. We travelled along the coast and around Chania and had the best holiday ever. The owner couldnt have been more helpful as were the welcome team. Always on hand when we needed them. We enjoyed meeting all the locals and spent many an hour chatting away with them. So thank you again for allowing us to stay in your wonderful villa. I am already telling all my friends and although we have always said we would never go anywhre twice, we are making an acception with this Villa, as the whiole family fell in love with it so much, that we are already looking at availability for next year! We spent two weeks at this beautiful villa. It was seriously the best holiday we've has. My husband and I and our two boys (11&8) had the time of our lives! The location was stunning with glorious almost 360degree to die for views. The villa was spotless, well equipped, cozy and welcoming, as were the family who looked after the villa. They couldn't have been mire helpful and friendly. We hired a car a drove for miles around the north if the island. Chania itself is a great spot, fab bars and restaurants and plenty to do and see. Every road travelled threw us yet more stunning views. crete really is a wonderful island. We will definitely return (the kids have badgered us since the day we left!) and we will definitely stay in this villa again! A real home from home! Cant recommend it enough! The freeman family!
