The family enjoyed the great view of the ocean. It was a relaxing place that allowed us to tour around and go to Lisbon quite a few times. The villa had plenty of space for the 10 of us. We had a great time.

A few issues
The property (as such) was a lovely old traditional villa in a beautiful location but there were a few hidden and unpleasant surprises that we didn’t know about. Firstly there are 51 steps to get up to the main living rooms (including three of the bedrooms) the other two bedrooms are on the pool level which is 36 steps up. In our opinion this should have been made clear, had we known we wouldn’t have booked as carrying luggage up was not easy, especially for older guests. Nothing was left for us, not even a bottle of milk for a cuppa. The villa was well equipped but there were no information leaflets for white goods etc .On arrival there was an awful toxic smell coming from a locked cupboard in the back lobby next to the kitchen this lobby also led to a fifth bedroom which we took, there was also a very small bathroom, a laundry room and crockery cupboards. We reported the smell and insisted they unlock the cupboard door so we could investigate . There was a water tank in the cupboard but also an uncovered drain which is where the smell was coming from. Marta, the housekeeper, kindly helped us stuff paper in the hole and provided us with an air freshener. Unfortunately this did very little and despite opening all windows in the area and taping up the vents in the cupboard and around the edge of the door the smell continued. It was so bad that we couldn’t use the bedroom at all and had to spend the first night on the sofas. The next day we reported this to the owner who’s attitude and attention to the matter was less than acceptable and little was done to alleviate the problem so we closed off this section of the villa ourselves, moved a bed ourselves, put all four children into one room and moved all our luggage to another bedroom for the rest of our stay. This was not convenient as we had to have 4 pre adolescent children of mixed sexes sharing one bedroom!!! Certainly not ideal and again not what we’d paid for! The pool was dirty and gathering algae and I had to ask for it to be cleaned. Hot water only really served for 4 showers at a time so many of us had to suffer cold showers! of Despite having these problems Mr Shah never came up to ask if we were okay, not once. Marta however was a lovely lady although Mr Shah clearly didn’t think so and openly called her an idiot when I told her how she’d helped us. We were celebrating a 70th birthday and didn’t want to spoil it so we made the best of things but thes problems did cause us distress,

Fabulous views, beautiful villa needs updating
We spent a week in the villa in mid-April. The villa layout, gardens and amenities are really beautiful. The view is especially stunning. This is definitely a villa that you need a car to come and go from. Having said that, it’s 3-5 minutes from an Aldi and a good supermarket. Sesimbra is a lovely town and the local beaches are stunning. We also had 2 great days in Lisbon checking out the museums and sights.
The Villa was beautiful when we arrived, clean and the windows were open. Towards the end of our stay the weather turned colder and when the windows were closed the smell of mold from the kitchen and ALL bathrooms was intolerable. Two of our guests allergies shot through the roof. There also seemed to be a sewer gas smell. This was really unfortunate and we would not have been able to spend another night in those conditions.

Beautiful views, comfort and space
We enjoyed our visit, thoroughly! Everything went well. We enjoyed the mix of old and new. The pool kept the kids happy and busy when not at the beach.

Need improvements
The house and location are beautiful but there was a few simple things that made our stay a bit difficult. I guess i didn’t not thought that through booking that house.
-We were only for four days and things were missing like a dish liquid, soap or even the dishwasher we had was so old and hard to work on.
-I simply messaged the owner few days before that we are excited to use the heating pool but he was only turned on at the day on our arrival. She explained to us after that the heating process takes few days. So we did not get our warm pool in February.
Very important as well and a good note for me is to always ask the owner if they can provide with a cleaner to come once a day
Visiting with friends just for few days the place gets quiet quickly dirty and it was hard to maintain it nice and tide.

Superbe villa. Vue magnifique.

Alufolie, Klopapier, Besen usw.
Danke !

Nice views but other than that we were disappointed. The house needs updating. The kitchen and bathrooms are in need of attention.

We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the old city.
We were 8 adults and 3 children. There was enogh space for that.
The view from the house is fantastic.
But is is very difficult to walk from the house to the city because of the traffic.
We loved to stay there.

Fantastic views, clean and well equipped spacious villa.
Great area woth lots to do, dramatic coastline and easy access back into Lisbon, a relaxed, though hilly city to explore (approx 50 mins). Villa has a stunning hillside setting but the road down into Sesimbra is steep, quite busy and no proper footpath. Sesimbra is a great little town with a sandy beach and lots of fish restaurants.
Villa is spacious, great for 10 of us, lots of eating out areas and the pool has some natural shade which was useful in the afternoons. No table tennis table (damaged during the winter apparently). Owners on site and very helpful, especially when we had a mis-understanding over the hourly rate of the local chef who came to cook for us one evening- sorted the following day and money reimbursed without any problems.
Put Estrada de Argeis into your sat nav and that will get you to the road at the bottom of the dead-end lane the villa is located on (which isn't recognised by sat navs). Plenty of local supermarkets for supplies. We enjoyed the walk up to the local castle and along the coast to find the dionosaur footpronts.
Overall, a really good family holiday, just wish we'd booked to stay longer!

A perfect house for ten friends to relax and enjoy the sun!
We had a great time at the house. Everything was there that we needed. Each person had enough space to do their own thing as well as come together for meals, drinks and sitting on the roof. The town is close by but a car or taxi is the best way to get down. The town is also beautiful and well worth a visit if you stay. Thanks for having us and letting us enjoy your space.

A Magnificent Place For Family Vacation
This 5 bed/5 full bath villa over looking the Atlantic Ocean and Sesimbra worked so well for our family of 10. Large living space, large well equipped kitchen, incredible outdoor living space. Set high on a cliff overlooking the sea was the epitome of peaceful. We were there in the middle of January so it was too cool to enjoy the pool but just relaxing in the sun on the many porches, including the roof top patio wa still splendid out door time. There is no central heat or air, but fireplace worked well and space heaters kept us plenty warm in the house once the walls warm up. Great location for exploring Sesimbra which is not a bad walk down the hill, but have someone come down to get you in a car, or be prepared for a good climb. Lovely small beach town with many delightful restaurants, we ate out more than we thought we would but so many great selections. We cooked in 2 nights and had wonderful fun time cooking. If weather had been warmer we would have grilled on the roof as there is a built in grill and large table to eat al fresco. On rainy day we took a day trip to Sintra to explore town and many castles. One day in Lisbon, about a 45 minute drive was also quite nice and fun, time your visit around rush hour traffic over the bridge or you will sit in traffic sometimes. I would definitely come back. Even a group that was not family would work as bedrooms have much privacy. It is a very large home. The owner was delightful and attentive but in no way over bearing. Can you tell I loved this property and area?

Amazing!
We all had a fabulous stay, at Casa Branca ; the villa is absolutely breathtaking, the views , the facilities & space! We are seriously considering coming back next year. We had a chef for 3 evenings & the cuisine was delicious. The support from the owners is second to none & they were on hand along with a housekeeper & maintenance chap for any queries or questions. They provided great tips & made our stay all the more enjoyable. Amazing!

Spacious and comfortable in a magnificent setting
A 3 generational family holiday with ages ranging from 18 months to 72 years.
We had been a little concerned prior to arrival about the safety of the terraces with the toddler, but everything was fine, he loved discovering all the hidden places and having the freedom of the spacious interior with the numerous sofas acting as climbing frames.
The setting was magnificent; the beautiful views lending incredible backdrops to romantic and family photos.
This being the first family holiday with all partners of our 4 children we were very pleased with the size of the property and the assorted places couples could escape, as well as enough room for us all to gather together comfortably of an evening or around the pool. The kitchen was well equipped and cooking was a pleasant social event, with the majority of meals being prepared on the barbecue, much of the food having been acquired from the excellent market in town, although various large supermarkets were within a few minutes drive for other essential supplies.
Most of us walked down into the town at some point in the week and a few even made the return trip on foot, apparently it takes 15 minutes uphill if you run in a temperature of 30 degrees. However for the less athletic there is an excellent, reasonable priced taxi service.
The property was very clean, with a mid week change of towels and a thorough clean midweek. The pool was cleaned and checked every other day. Both members of staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful.
We did have one meal in the week provided by a local chef and his sister in the villa. A truly unforgettable meal. It did cost much the same as a meal in town would have cost but it was wonderful having the meal on the terrace overlooking the bay. Fantastic fish dishes and no washing up.
We would recommend the walk up to the castle although we should have started out earlier on such a warm day.
Many of the party also caught buses into Lisbon and thoroughly enjoyed their day of sightseeing in Alfama and Belem. Sesimbra is also a good base for exploring the National park with its fabulous beaches and view points.
A few minor niggles, such as, creaking beds, dripping taps, a desire for air conditioning on the very warm nights, but these did not detract from our overall enjoyment of the property and we would very much recommend the property to any large group of friends and families.

Outstanding property, highly recommend
We booked the property for a 3 generational Christmas and New Years holiday for 2015/2016. To sum up this property in two words would be WOW, and STUNNING. On the the details: The property can't be done justice with the pictures, the views are plain gorgeous from patios on 3 levels. The inside is VERY spaceous, frankly with 6 of us we did not occupy entire sections of the house. The kitchen is large, thus accomodates cooking for a larger group very easily. The owners live downstairs, which you would never know except for pleasant and great tips and hints on local sights, food, etc, and a very much appreciated stop over on New Years, great folks. The cleaning service provided is impeccable. Initially we were concerned about heat as we used the property in the winter, never even used 2 of 3 provided heaters, no issues what-so-ever. The location, in addition to the multi million $ views could not be better. Great view of Sesimbra, a quick drive or solid walk and you are there, but you are staying where it is prestine and quite, if you want the 'bustle' (well, hard to call it that in December, it was very nice and quite during our stay, but hey....) you are there in minutes. The beach in Sesmibra is quite nice, regardless if you hang out or use it otherwise. Nice restaurants in town, and for self cooking foodies, do not miss the municpal market to gather your supplies in the morning, we had some excellent meals of local fish grilled on the provided, coverd, barbeque station (was nice in the rain on the few days when we had rain). Regarding Lisbon, you can drive 35 or so minutes to the ferry that crosses the river, hop it, and viola, be in Lisbon for sight seeing without any parking hassles or the like. I high recommend this property to anyone seeking some serious downtime with access to all the excitement your heart desires. We found this property ideal for or multi generational get away. Don't be surprised if you find us back!!!

Cousin Convention
Family of cousins met to share laughter, explore a new locale and relax. The villa was just the right backdrop. The pool was not heated but added to the beauty of the surroundings. The seaside village of Sesimbra was filled with accommodating, friendly faces and lovely vistas with exceptionally fine dining. We ranged in ages from 41-59 years. We agreed that despite all enjoying good health, the route to the village via a two-way, busy highway was best navigated by the oh-so friendly taxi drivers rather than on foot. Something about yelling "car" and sucking in our guts and curling our toes made the trek a little more exciting than we wanted.
We took the local bus into Lisbon and made our way around the city to see museums and the harbor there. We took a 2 hour charter boat trip from Sesimbra to see the beautiful countryside from a different perspective. We drank Sesimbra Spritzers- our newly concocted signature drink- on the terrace and snapped photos of glorious sunsets. We sat on the beach. We prepared meals and cleaned up together sometimes while singing tunes we learned as kids. We ate in the village. We found kitschy souvenirs. We had a delightful stay. Thanks to the owners for making this villa available for our cousin convention. Happy Bird

Villa grandiose avec une vue magique sur plusieurs niveaux. Un sentiment d'espace dans un confort simple et raffiné. La réalité a dépassé nos esperances entrevues sur les photos du site. Nice place
The house is much bigger and nicer than on the photos. We were wondering about sharing the building with the owners but beside that they are very very nice the building has several level so you don t meet if you don t want.
There is a very nice and discreetly working guy for the pool and the garden and also a cleaning lady that is efficient but invisible (midweek cleaning).
As on the pictures the house is overlooking the bay from the garden, the first level and the additional roof terrace.
Also a good starting point for visiting nice placed in the surrounding. We have been travelling with a dog, perfect place as you can have the walks right in front of the door (see Google) Natural dead end street for only two houses.

Fantastic house, fantastic place!
We = 9 adults from Finland spent 10 days in the fabulous Casa Branca in April. The house and the location turned out to be even more beautiful in reality than in the pictures! All rooms were very clean and furnished with good taste. We especially liked the Portuegese style tiled bathrooms! Cleaning and change of towels twice during our visit was also a very pleasant surprise. The kitchen included many sets of plates and glasses and - of course - all needed equipment.
Although still quite cool in the nights, we could swim every day as the pool was heated. We also enjoyed the large balcony with the stunning views to the Sesimbra Bay.
The location of the house suited us very well as we had a car. We did also walk to Sesimbra center but, must admit, that the climbing back took longer! ;) By the way, a tip: You will find the house by using the name of the street below the house in the navigator, the actual name of the street on which the house lies is so new that at least our navigator did not recognize it. And no worries, you will also get detailed directions from the Lisbon airport to the house.
The owners of the house who lived near were very helpful all time. As a matter of fact, we found all people we met during our trip very helpful! It is not in many countries people stop to ask if you need help when you look at your map or stand in front of a metro ticket machine.
Sesimbra is a very nice little town with a lot of originality left. The food - especially fish - is excellent! And don´t forget to visit the Moorish castle and the little beautiful church with azulejos in front of it. Day trips from there can easily be made to Lisbon (remember the Gulbenkian Museum!) but also to the neighboring nature/historic resorts including Monumento Natural da Pedreira do Avelino in Zambujal (dinosaur footsteps), Reserva Natural do Estuário do Sado and the western-most tip of continental Europe the Cabo da Roca. Sintra, Estoril and Cascais are also worth visiting.
For wine tasting we can recommend two places: Vale da Capucha (family-owned) www.valedacapucha.com and Bacalhôa (a big wineyard with a fantastic museum including African and Art Nouveua/Art Deco collections) www.bacalhoa.pt
We also found not too far from Sesimbra a nice little factory where you see how azulejos are made in the old way - www.azulejosdeazeitao.com.
We are looking to visit Portugal again and will definitely also then stay at the Casa Branca, if possible! Thank you Ingrid!!!
