We stayed here while other family members stayed in a hotel in Temple Bar (central Dublin). They had noise, parties till bars closed. We had a quiet neighborhood, easy on street parking, two comfortable bedrooms in a private, charming townhouse. We would definitely stay here again. We especially loved talking daily walks on Dublin Bay, about a five minute walk away (from roundabout, take South Bank Road to path on right to the beach.)

We had a wonderful time. It's sometimes a little loud at night because of the port. Everything else was as fine as expected.

We had a wonderful stay in Dublin and loved the history of this cottage. The location was great and we enjoyed walking the neighborhoods with easy access to hiking trails, pubs, shops and beaches. I definitely recommend this stay if you're looking for a quiet place outside the bustle of downtown!

First of all, the bedrooms are upstairs and the stairs are narrow and dangerous and there is no handrail. Then the beds they called Queen were clearly only doubles. We literally turned around and hailed a taxi and stayed at a hotel, and there property owner will not offer me a partial refund. So sad that VRBO allows this property as it is my first problem with VRBO. I’m thinking hotels when outside the USA.

We were very comfortable.

Very unique. Nicely restored. Having dedicated parking a real plus! Close enough to walk to Aviva Stadium (our main reason for being in Dublin) so for that reason the property made sense for our trip. We had some challenges getting check in information however once I called the host we received the details.

Myself and my three daughters loved it...the Ringsend and Irishtown neighborhoods are terrific...many pubs and restaurants within walking...I walked each day into the city center, which I logged as 2.29 miles through the gorgeous Ringsend Park. If you want public transportation the S2 is an easy option - if you can walk a bit but dont want to walk the entire way to City Center - the C1 and C2 at the Irishtown stop is the fastest way to go. My daughters loved the rental - it was close enough to the city without it being in the city. Thank you Billy!

My friend and I loved our stay in Billy’s cottage. The area it’s in, Ringsend, was a bit out of the way and confusing to the cab drivers — but I’d not change a thing about the place. What I loved most, other than the interior of the cottage, was getting to walk through the park that leads to the more commercial area.
Keep in mind that you’ll most likely be calling cabs from that spot, but I’d say it’s well worth it. I incorrectly felt like a local because of the location and how I learned about a more off the beaten path part of Dublin :)

Check in was good. Check in times between VRBO and owner’s info differed but we were able to get in during the earlier.
House is clean and charming.
Several amenities were lacking. The restful garden was grass and weeds knee high. No seating. Washing machine/dryer left clothing soaked.
Owner seemed to be game playing with his messages.
Owner declined request for compensation for missing amenities and claimed to have people helping us who we saw no sign of. Very displeased.

We loved our stay and everything was perfect. The only downside was that it was a couple of miles from downtown and getting downtown during rush hour took more like one and a half hours. This has nothing to do with the VRBO but we called for an Uber at 4:30 and it took 1 hour for the Uber to arrive and another hour to get to the restaurant. 2 hours and we probably could have walked it in less than half the time. The next day I had 2 Ubers/Free Now cancel and I finally just drove most of the way there. So now for the excellent part - check in was easy and parking is FREE!!! Great host and the VRBO is cozy and comfortable. I'd suggest not trying to tackle the Dublin traffic - and I though Los Angeles was bad...

Billy’s cottage was a haven. Our luggage took 3 days to arrive but the cottage and the docks were wonderful. It’s quite a walk to the centre of Dublin, we sometimes ubered which made it very easy (NB - eirecode is very important as the cottage isn’t easy to find otherwise). But would love to stay again and heartily recommended.

The place was authentic, cozy, and warm. Beds were comfortable was a short walk to coffee thru Ringsend park which was beautiful filled with kids playing soccer and hurling! Easy to get around and far enough to get away from the hustle and bustle!! Billy was easy to get intouch with and everything was grand!

Billy's cottage was a great place to stay during a five day trip to Dublin. It was as described and worked well for my friend and I. It is a little off the beaten path (cab drivers had trouble finding it), but a 20 minute walk takes you to the Luas, which is handy for getting around. If you like walking, you can walk right to the city center.

Loved the quaint property and the historical aspects of the home. The two bedrooms, the fireplace, and the full kitchen were a plus for our family!

We had a great time at the dockland cottage. It is well equipped with towels, bedding and kitchen stuff. We spend almost a week there and enjoyed Dublin. Billy, the host, was excellent.
Thank you

This house is a bit small but charming and just what we needed. We were concerned about the house being off the beaten path but it is convenient to the bus and a short ride to city center. It was a great place for home base as we explored the city and countryside and a comfortable place to come back to at the end of a long day. Plus, a short walk to the Merry Cobbler, our new favorite pub. We would recommend!

Wonderful place full of period details. Delightful host made us very welcome.

Cabbies had hard time finding our accomodations. We sent several emails to Billy about our access and fact that there were three of us and we only had two sets of towels. We had a partial roll of toilet paper for 5 days. When Billy finally called a neighbor of ours to come over with her phone we finally had info on where towels were. Never toilet paper. A neighbor loaned us towels and gave us toilet paper. Billy chewed me out for not answering his calls. We were in airplane mode and not accepting calls. I have only communicated with Billy via email for months prior to our date of arrival. Billy wanted us to have someone at the accomodations for an afternoon during our stay. I told Billy, via email, we had plans for our entire stay and we could not wait around for a repair man. We were having issues with washerdryer and had requested step by step instructions. Never received them.
I would not recommend these accomodations. We took pictures on arrival and too photos before we left too.

It is a bit of a walk to downtown Dublin but a nice quiet location with a kitchen, living room and two great bedrooms. This stay was a very good choice for us.

Really enjoyed Billy’s cottage. Accurate description, close to Sandymount. Loved his place.

The cottage is exactly as described, comfortable and relaxing. It's not near the center. You have to walk 15 minutes to get the bus to the centre.

The Cottage had such an authentic Irish charm about it. We loved the location walked to pubs and food store. Short Uber into the town of Dublin which was such a cool place - so much happening, got to tour some pubs, ate some fish n chips got to see beautiful architecture and hear some authentic Irish bands playing on the streets. I can't wait to go back. Billy was a very responsive host.

The cottage was everything I had hoped it would be. It was exactly as advertised. Very clean and well stocked. It was an easy walk to all the essentials. I also got a LEAP bus card at the airport and used it a number of times. The bus stop was right through the park. On most days, however, I just walked all the way into the downtown area. I took a number of tours that the pickup spot was downtown and never had a problem. I am generally a light sleeper, but the sounds of the cargo loading did not bother me at all. I also found it very interesting to watch. I LOVED the fireplace. It was very comforting after a long day out and about (much of them wet!).
William called on me midway through my stay to make sure everything was going well.
I would highly recommend this cottage for a long or a short stay.

The property is very unique in that it was built in the 1800s and is beautifully outfitted inside. It does have steep stairs up to the bedroom, so I don't recommend it for older people or people with mobility issues. Owner is honest and responsible.

Beautiful coastguard station with a wonderful location.

This place is exactly as advertised. Well kept property, easy access. The garden was nice with fruit trees. We bought a LEAP pass for trains and buses and property was well located to access them. As noted, a 10 minute walk through the Ringsend park took us to a main busline on Irishtown rd with many options. A 20 min walk to Aviva Stadium got us to the train and an easy trek to Howth. I recommend the TFI Live app which was very helpful. I would not drive in the downtown. The Merry Cobbler was also just through the park and we had an excellent meal. The local tesco express was smallish, but well stocked. When we left for the airport we pre-booked a cab through Lynk. They asked if they could use the tunnel (8euros?) and it took under 15 minutes on an early Monday morning.... wow! It is across the street from a working container ship yard - it was interesting to watch - we left windows open and did not find it disruptive. There is a local rowing club down the street as well and they store boats next door. Thx for the stay.

Our 18yo daughter and her friend went on their first trip abroad and I booked this house on their behalf. Billy was so helpful and I felt very safe knowing that they were in a good place. Beautifully decorated, lovely view, reasonably priced and convenient location

Quaint cottage in a unique setting. A little hard to find initially. Loved our stay here.

It was a delight. Nice location, but within walking distance of many nice places.

Had a fantastic stay with no surprises, the cottage was as advertised. Several places within walking distance (15 min or so) to eat or drink, or the temple bar district is a 15 euro taxi ride away. Best part? Beers by a fire to finish a long day!

A property like no other, tastefully decorated having all one needs for a cozy time. It is clear, the owner Billy appreciates the finer things in life especially literature, antiques and art. Next to the working port of Dublin but quiet and comfortable. A short stroll to Dublin's tech area along the river with ample services and restaurants and a nice longer stroll to stretch one's legs into city center for everything Dublin is famous for. GPS brought us directly to the property without issue and Billy's instructions made it easy to enter and enjoy the property. If you want a stay you won't soon forget, then consider this cottage for a truly unique experience.

The space was quaint. The fireplace was my favorite part. The sreps were a wee bit narrow but it is an old building. The tub was very deep, so if you have trouble lifting your legs, be careful.

This is a well equipped lovely property. The furnishing and decor make for a very cozy ambience. We enjoyed the fireplace on a couple of nights. The only negative is that the property is across the street from a massive container port facility. The large cranes work 24/7. The noise they create may be an issue for light sleepers.

The apartment is as pictured. Very clean and comfortable. It's about two miles from Trinity College which was perfect for us as we do not like to stay in the middle of the touristy parts of town and like to walk. Lots of shopping and restaurants in that direction. Sandymount is a little village about 1 km away in the other direction and very easy to get to. Several great restaurants there--much more quiet than downtown. The bed in the back bedroom is very comfortable, but does squeak a lot when you move around. The operational fireplace was nice and unique in vacation rentals of this sort. We really enjoyed out stay and would definitely stay there again if visiting Dublin.

Long but nice walk into the city, easy to find a taxi when needed. Almost silent next to a ship yard! Very pleased with kitchen items included, a wonderful stay over all.
Good location if you don't want the crowds of down town Dublin , the area in which the house is located felt secure with ice neighbors near by

Thanks Billy for a beautiful long week end
