The cottage was everything and more than advertised! It is a well built and thoughtfully laid out cottage, with knotty pine interior walls and hard wood floors. The cottage is nicely appointed and had everything we needed. The nine cottages, all similar in design, all face the lake. The area is absolutely quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The sandy/small pebble beach is only steps away and the water is very shallow, even out beyond 50 yards - so, it is safe for the little ones (the ducks and geese tend to move away when we approached the beach.) Recommend beach shoes to get to the beach and while at the beach.

Leeds Lakeside Property
We were not impressed. We were greeted at the entrance with a broken screen door and cleaning rags from cleaning off the property inside the screen door. The cabin was clean and has new alliances. However there was no heat and it was 48 degrees at night. There is a gas heater but we could not get it to work. The shower has broken handles and is very difficult to use. The furniture is worn and used but functional. There are kayaks available but they were dirty and it is impossible to move them up and down the steep embankment to get to the lake. After two days we had bad colds and had to leave the property. We called the owner to let them know we were leaving early. We did not hear from them during check-in.

Another wonderful stay
We had another wonderful stay at this cabin. We had a little bit of rain during the week so the kids were glad to have the updated WiFi system so they could watch movies. We rented a motor boat for a few days so we could explore more parts of the lake that we hadn't previously seen. Barbara was easy to contact with questions we had. I'm sure we'll be back.

Memorial day weekend
The property was great, the only down side it was freezing! I would love to come back in the heat of the summer! We unfortunately didn't get to take advantage of the lake, but we did keep ourselves busy driving out to Freeport and hiking some trails nearby. We also had a great meal at the Willow's Awake Winery.

Tranquil Getaway
My husband and I loved our stay here. We are in our 70’s , so we mostly just enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty...particularly the sunsets and the fire pits at dusk.
The cottage is super clean. The bed is very comfortable.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dish detergent provided.
I recommend bringing some groceries with you so you do not have to leave right away to go grocery shopping.
The WiFi is iffy, but we were not there for TV.
The terrain is a little hilly, so if you have trouble walking, bring a cane for balance.
There Is plenty of room for families, but the downstairs was perfect for just the two of us.
I loved the screened in porch.
We have lovely memories to carry us through the winter.
Thank you, Barbara!

Kids Wanted To Stay Forever
We had a lovely week-long stay at this cabin. Barbara was very responsive prior to the trip, and the whole reservation process was very easy. The cabin was clean, and our kids (aged 4 and 7) loved sleeping up in the loft. We had great weather (hot during the day but cooled off nicely at night). There were plenty of fans throughout the cabin; we had brought one from home but didn't need it. We brought our own canoe and paddleboard, but there were 2 kayaks available at the cabin if we needed them. Everyday we paddled out to the closest island (Lothrop Island) where we picked wild blueberries and enjoyed the black sand beach. We also checked out Norris Island, just a tad farther. The lake temperature was perfect, refreshing but warm enough to stay in all day, and the shallow water was perfect for kids. We also brought some inflatable tubes which were perfect for lounging in. The sunsets were gorgeous, and we heard the loons every night. We got farm fresh veggies and pie from nearby Levesque's Farm Stand, and got lunch and ice cream from Fast Eddie's Drive-In located in Winthrop. Winthrop House of Pizza also had good pizza. We had a couple nice hikes nearby - Monument Hill (short hike to some nice views) and Mt. Pisgah (with a cool fire tower on top with 360 views) which were both the perfect distance for the kids. Our kids cried the day we left, saying they wanted to live there forever. We've been home for 2 days and they have been talking nonstop about the lake. We will all cherish the memories forever!
There were a few issues, but definitely wouldn't prevent a future stay. A dog must have been staying at the cabin prior to us, because each member of our family stepped in dog poop around the cabin on the first day. There were also a few full poop bags left down by the dock that were there all week. Our kids found lots of glass down at the beach, they accumulated quite a collection by the end of our stay. The WiFi didn't work for the whole week, which was fine since we weren't planning on trying to get any work done while on vacation, and had downloaded movies for the kids prior to arriving. The pots and pans were old and Teflon-coated with deep scratches which we didn't use - we were glad we had brought a cast iron skillet from home to use. Again, these aren't things that wouldn't deter us from renting again but thought they should be mentioned.

Perfect lakefront getaway
Perfect spot and accommodations. The cottage was stocked with all the meal prep needs we could ask for . We were even provided with bug spray. We had use of kayaks and a nice gas grill. The lake is beautiful. Things to do and see in the local area. Property owner responded quickly to questions.

We have stayed at Angell Cove Cottages previously but it was 4 years ago. We loved that we had access to 2 kayaks, lots of beach toys and a fully supplied kitchen. The only thing I missed from our last stay was having a welcome letter available giving us information about the rules of the property, facilities and where to take trash. We figured things out on our own, but it would have been helpful to know I walked into the right cottage. Last time we were also greeted with a few breakfast items. It wasn’t much but the thoughtfulness stayed with me 4 years later. Thank you for the lovely memories and fantastic accommodations!

Lovely Clean Cottage
We loved the cottage, it was clean and fresh will all of the linens, towels, and amenities we needed. Making smores by the campfire, spending quality time with family and kayaking across the lake were our favorite activities. There is an island across the lake from the cottages which has a nice little black sand beach! The reason we gave it a 4 star is due to the internet/wifi was terrible and the beach was loaded with Canadian Geese pooh. So if you want to watch TV bring DVD's and don't forget your water shoes!

Peace and quiet
We’ve stayed here before about 2 years ago so I was confident in our choice. The cabins are clean, comfortable, and well equipped with cooking equipment including a grill. Had an issue with the WiFi which was rectified quickly to acceptable performance, however slow, my daughter could watch Netflix on her laptop but it took a while to load. The fishing was great catching large and smallmouth bass, pumpkinseeds, perch, and chain pickerel. You don’t need a boat to fish either, you can wade out about 100+ yards along the reeds next to the beach. Just be sure to bring good water shoes or an old pair of sneakers to wear, lots of mussels and muck. The weather was VERY hot and humid this year but the cabins are shaded under the trees and the nights cooled down enough to sleep comfortably, no air conditioning. Plenty of antique and curiosity shops along drives to keep you busy if that’s your thing. Tubies ice cream on the other side of the lake in Wayne is a quick drive for a good lobster roll and dessert. If you like eating and shopping with a touristy feel Portland is about an hour drive ($5 an hour parking at the Temple st garage {11 Temple st}). Mckloons Lobstah Shack, one of Maine’s best lobster rolls according to a book we saw in a Portland gift shop, is at 315 Island road, South Thomaston, ME. Also had nice Crabcakes and a great view of the harbor and the islands off shore to look at as you eat.
All and all I’d rate Angell Cove a solid 93 out of 100. Not perfect but pretty darn close.

So Peaceful!
So peaceful with a view to die for. Everything we needed for our stay. Only issue was the oven seems to need a new thermostat and degree knob. Food was not cooking properly. Other issue was that we all wished we were staying longer. Beautiful place!

Great location and property!
My family and I were very pleased with out stay at the property. It was conveniently located and the grounds were very well kept - beautiful beach area and view from the cabin. Barbara was incredibly easy to work with and very responsive. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay including cookware, a grill, fire pit, a drying rack for wet towels/bathing suits and kayaks that we used daily! Our two dogs had the time of their life being able to go for nice walks with us and swim in the lake. My only downfall, which would not deter me from renting here again, was the amount of time it took me to clean the tree pitch off of my car afterwards. Great vacation!

A nice, well run little retreat
The cabin is simple but efficient and clean. The beds were comfortable and everything worked. I would recommend. There is almost nothing nearby for about 20 min, bring provisions.

Great Place to Relax
We were really pleased with all aspects of our stay at the Angell cottage in Leeds.starting with the set up and planning. All our inquiries were answered quickly and the planning was stressless. The cottage had everything we required and was understated by pictures on site. The lake and overall ambiance was perfect. Quiet and restful, just what we were looking for. Barb and Russ, the owners, were available at all times as they are local and also own a local popular restaurant which has great clam bellies (among other things). They helped out as needed to answer questions. I highly recommend this property and hope we can come back to enjoy the lake, kayak and listen to the loons.

A Perfect Waterfront Retreat!!!!
We didn't stay in this exact cottage, but a very similar one in the same grouping (Angell Cove). First of all, Barbara (the owner) is amazing. My fiancé, his son, our two dogs and myself had come to Maine from Boston and were set to stay in a different rental home (not affiliated with her) a few towns over. When we got there, we realized the place was horrible and we just couldn't stay there. We scrambled very last-minute to secure a place to stay. We contacted Barbara and she was incredibly accommodating. Although the cottages weren't really "open" yet, she got one ready for us and let us stay. And we are so happy she did!! The cottage itself was wonderful ~ cozy, clean & well-equipped. Our cottage was "Canada Goose" and the interior was themed that way; I imagine the other cottages are similar in that regard. Very cute!! The cottage was right on the lake. Beautiful views & scenery all around. Each cottage had its own kayaks and canoes and there was a big community shed with bikes, balls, etc for guests to use. These cottages were located in a very quiet area; the only sounds we heard were the loons and the frogs. Had to venture out 25+ minutes to get to most restaurants, etc but that was fine. Lots of options in neighboring Auburn, Greene, Augusta & Winthrop.
Big, big thanks to Barbara for her hospitality, friendliness and helpfulness!!! Although this wasn't our original destination, we were very happy to have ended up there.

Awesome lakefront spot. Very relaxing.
This was an awesome place, perfect for our small family. The lake is barely 100 yards downhill and the livingroom windows look out to the lake. It's a perfect relaxing getaway. The place was clean, had all the amenities you would need; the description was exactly what was delivered. The lake is beautiful and there's a beach area to throw some chairs down to get some sun and swim to cool off. Kayaking was great, fishing was a blast. The grill was awesome, used every night. Golf at Springbrook nearby; quality course for cheap. Barbara was very accommodating for us to bring our small Boston Terrier and she even stopped by during the day one day to ask if we needed anything else (she was in the area). Highly recommend for small family looking to relax on a lake.
6.0
Quaint and quiet cottage.
The cottage was ready when we arrived and was a nice place to take a break. It had the basic supplies and the overall cottage was quaint. We didn't want for any supplies or basic kitchen utensils. It was all there.
However, the cleanliness was lacking in a few areas with some of the dishes and plates were dirty, The carpets looked barely vacuumed where it was obvious and not vacuumed at all where you couldn't readily see. Cushions and bed covers seemed somewhat dirty also, everything had a faint musty smell of age. Internet is slow to crawling and the hot water was not enough for more than quick showers by a few people.
The lake was very nice and warm since it is shallow. There are plenty of kayaks and a canoe to explore the little islands. Fishing was fun and there are several types of small fish to catch. Bring plenty of bug spray, the deer flies and mosquitoes are abundant. Grill worked good and had plenty of gas.
On the final day the cleaning staff and maintenance workers showed up early and we got the message loud and clear: "get out." This was annoying and these people should just show up after the check out time as any normal hotels/b&b's would do.
Overall a good stay but with definite caveats.

Fabulous family vacation destination
We were so impressed with this cottage and facilities. The cottage was extremely clean and well supplied,it was a home away from home. The kids enjoyed the hiking trails and playing on the beach. We also enjoyed the supplies kayaks as well as other water activities.

Great family getaway!
The environment was rustic and peaceful. I couldn't get over how beautiful the scenery was. The owners were really helpful and accommodating towards our stay. They kayaks were a huge hit in my family, we went out almost every day to see the baby balding eagles on a near by island. The property was well maintained and very clean. I would strongly recommend this to anyone wanted an amazing Maine vacation.
