We rented this because of its location and it being listed as a dog friendly property. There was a whit couch with an ill fitting covert to keep the dogs on (so we layered it in towels because a white couch is not dog friendly). We had an incident (outside of anyone's direct control) where a squatter broke into an un-rented home next door and the police told us to go inside until they were done entering that house with weapons drawn to extract the person, which is exactly what happened. We then had someone stop by from the City of San Diego Building and Land Use Enforcement stating this was an illegal short term rental and handed us paperwork to put inside. We didn't feel comfortable leaving the dogs or our belongings alone after all of this so we had a local relative visit a few afternoons so we could get out an explore the local area and while she was there. On our last day we received 3 phone calls, 2 voicemail message, an email, a text message and a VRBO message all within 20 minutes stating we had to take care of the loudness of the dogs "right away and immediately". We headed home and responded immediately as demanded. Dogs do bark, but when you rent a home with a garden patio with half high walls that back up to a populated walk-through for beach and bay access, barking should probably be expected, and we did try and limit it because it annoys us as well when they bark.. The dogs were a know factor before they accepted our rental. We left the next morning, house clean.

We enjoyed our stay in south Mission Beach. I will start by saying that we have never stayed in Mission before, so I do not have any reference for comparison. There were a few things that were fantastic about the property. These included the house being very clean, ample parking, lots of beach toys/supplies, a great location, and excellent communication with Tammie from Windansea. While the house was comfortable, a downside for us was that everything in the house was old. We were not expecting a totally upgraded house, but felt that some money could be put into things like a new bathroom and furniture. Everything worked at least. We would be fine staying here in the future, but will probably spend more money to stay in an upgraded place. Overall it was a nice stay, and would recommend it.

Perfect house for our family of 4. Walking distance to the beach and bay. We were able to walk to the bay and watch the SeaWorld fireworks at night. Love all the out door seating! 10/10 recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay!
Location - super close to beach and bay, our young kids had no problem making the walk. Minimart and restaurants within walking distance. Playground also walking distance. Drive to Seaworld parking spot was less than 10 min.
Home - cozy house for fam of four, beds were comfy, kitchen had everything to cook with. House is a bit dated but that is what gives it it's charm. Some quirky things about the property that is expected in an older home which we enjoyed. You truly can't beat having two yards (one that is enclosed) and a garage, plus a parking spot. There's also sand toys, wagon, and chairs for the beach.
Management - we communicated with Tammie toward the end of our 10 day stay and she was extremely helpful. We could tell in her voice that she genuinely cares for helping renters and enjoys what she does. I feel this really goes far in the vacation rental business.
Overall, this property is in a great location and has what you need to enjoy your beach time. We look forward to future stays!

This was perfect walking distance to the bay, right across the street to the ocean, near the best coffee window and super close to Belmont Park. Was even able to check in a little early which was great.

We stayed for a long weekend, it’s super convenient to Belmont and the beach. I brought things for the beach but never needed any of it, the rental comes with chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, and even a wagon!!! They literally thought of everything!! Quiet neighborhood, 2 beautiful relaxing sitting areas outside. Love the character of the home also! Everything in the area closes early except one dive bar that’s walking distance opposite of Belmont😁 I’m planning on going back soon and hope to book this house again!

Nice trip to San Diego. House was about what we thought it would be - would probably spend a little more next time and stay in La Jolla or downtown but it was just right this time. Meggen was very accommodating and helpful and I would definitely rent another property from her in the future, but probably not this property. Good location and accommodations for the price.

Terrific location -Very clean sheets and towels. Nicely laid out and everything worked.
Overall the house needs some TLC. Found mold in the bathroom. The back door to the courtyard is in terrible shape and needs replacement.

Great location...just a few houses to the sand on a quite street!! Only complaint is the shower wasnt made for anyone over 4 foot tall. Property manager was great.

This place was everything we were looking for. We were here with our kids for spring break and the location is fantastic. Minutes from the beach as well as Belmont Park which was awesome since we could just walk there. Great food at Sara’s a block away and the grocery stores (Trader Joe’s and Ralph’s) were a quick 5 minute drive. Everything is literally a 15 minute drive from the house which makes seeing all the things San Diego has to offer so easy. We loved our stay and would definitely come back. ❤️❤️

The location was with in walking distant of everything we needed. We had to bring our two small dogs with us and the property was perfect for them. We had a very nice and relaxing time.

Perfect location for 2 teenage girls and us. Walking distance to Belmont Park and the beach. Beachcomber bar was fun too (21 and older only). Met great locals during Bingo.
The house was the perfect size and the bedrooms were definitely roomy and the beds incredibly comfortable. Would definitely stay again

This was a great property, easy access to Bonita Cove to paddleboard, easy access to the boardwalk. It was quiet at night. Management was easy to contact and helpful with questions. We look forward to returning.

My best friend and I needed a relaxing getaway. This house was perfect for the two of us. Beds were comfy, house was adorable and the location was perfect! Only thing that needs checking is many of the outlets didn't work... particularly in the front bedroom. Otherwise we loved it!

Stay on the Bay
This property is a great location, very close to the bay, just south of Belmont Park.
A comfortable size with both bedrooms being roomy with queen beds. The back patio was our outside space of choice..the flagstone front was bit too rough to navigate .
Would definitely consider returning when we come to Mission Beach again.

We loved this place! Our second stay in Mission Beach and it was perfect. On the bay side which is great for our younger kids. Walked everywhere: restaurants, coffee, Belmont Park etc

The house is adorable. We love how close it is to walk the bay and the beach. We rented bikes and kept them in the garage. Love love love that it’s very close to our favorite Sara’s Taco shop!

Perfect cozy place.
This was our family's first time staying in a vacation rental home. The home was clean, comfortable, well stocked, and larger than you would think for a two bedroom. The enclosed rear patio that is accessible from the kitchen through the attached garage was perfect for our dogs to roam freely without having to worry about them getting out. The neighborhood is quiet, seems safe and is walking distance to the beach, bay and nearby markets. The best part is the parking. In this area, parking is very limited. Here, you get an open space plus a garage behind the property. Megan and Tammy were always very quick to respond and were very helpful with everything. My kids and I hope to make this a yearly summer tradition.

Good and… loud.
Cute little bungalow in great proximity to MB and the Bay. However, after a power outage our first night and being right in the airport flight path during the daytime hours, we will pass on a return trip. We were told the power outage is a regular occurrence and the planes taking off were so loud that we couldn’t hold a conversation. These, of course, are no fault of the owners or property managers but it really took away from our enjoyment.
The manager Megan was very helpful with the door locks and was available to help with TV issues. She was great!!!

Perfect spot in Mission Beach
We had a great experience from the moment we arrived. The location was steps away from Mission Beach Park, the rollercoaster, and of course, the beaches themselves. Great breakfast spots, bars, coffee shops, and convenient stores are just down the block, as well.
The garage definitely came in handy when we had a friend from LA come down and visit us.
Megan was always available to answer any questions we had, and she was kind enough to allow us a late checkout before our afternoon flight out. I would definitely recommend staying here again.

Quaint bungalow close to the water
Tammie and Megan were helpful and responsive throughout our stay. The home has great outdoor spaces, was very clean, and so close to the water. We were able to bring our dog with us which made the trip even more special. Thank you for helping us have a wonderful relaxing vacation!

Quaint MB Cottage with Doggo
My wife and I had a wonderful month-long stay at this cottage. The house has all the basics you need to enjoy your time by the beach. Though it is close to Belmont park, this is a sleepy pedestrian street with awesome neighbors. The fully enclosed yard was great for our pup. The back portion of the yard was extra warm and sunny on cooler days. The inside of the cottage is basic and cozy. Four adults might feel a little cramped, but it was perfect for us two. The galley kitchen and grill outside worked perfect for homecooked meals with all the necessities. The beach equipment was very handy for when we wanted to walk out onto the sand. The garage is on the smaller size, but it did fit our old 4Runner easily. Wifi worked great for my wife and I to both be on Zoom.

Has beach chairs, boogie boards a little doggie door from garage to a separate backyard perfect for my 7 lb Yorkie. Great parking spots. Definitely a good location. Thanks! The gas grill tanks were empty but the property manager manager brought us a new one right away! Great time.

Hidden Gem
Property was ideal for our brief stay. Out the front door, turn right for a pleasant short walk to the beach. Turn left, an equally pleasant short stroll to Mission Bay. Place itself is older but reminded me of my grandmas house nearby so it was fine. Happy to stay here again.
