A propos de ce cabane standardrental
Wolf Crossing - Cabin

Loved having two folding chairs on the porch to take into the park. That rally enhanced our enjoyment.

It is a great little cabin for two. Close to Yellowstones front door. John was so nice and helpful. We will be back for sure!

Location ideal. Bed ideal and the price was competitive.
Shower water temp was very difficult to regulate. I would have liked a few more outlets. One on both sides of bed and one at the table. Lighting could be improved as well.

The wildlife around the cabin was incredible!

Immaculate old log cabin, not big enough for a family but two fit very comfortably. Cozy, warm and private. Well stocked and appointed with microwave, coffee pot, tv, heater, flush toilet, shower, refrigerator and wifi. We loved our stay here and the attendant explained the cabin was over 100 years old.

This is as advertised a rustic cabin close to the entrance to Yellowstone. Good bed and all you need. Our only deal is how close to the road it is, just a few feet. So our idea of chilling on the porch, which we did, was not what we expected.
A stack of tires hampered the environment too.
So good place, too close to noisy highway for us and a little effort on the surroundings would make it a much better stay.

Perfect little cabin for 1-2 people wanting to get away and relax. It is a little close to the road for my liking but its not too bad. Close to town and lots of beautiful scenery and hiking trails. The property manager John was very helpful and kind, going above and beyond to make your stay great. The locals are friendly. The Log Cabin Cafe food tastes great but its a coin toss as to whether they'll be open or not. Cooke city is only 3mi. away with a lot more modern conveniences, but I wasn't interested in that, lol. Ask around for Henry, he can tell you a lot about the area too. There's so much beauty to take pictures of and fresh air, and cute little squirrels and chipmunks too. So if you dont get a chance to spot any of the big animals there's still that. 😊
Over all, as far as I was concerned, it was perfect.

Awesome location. Towns near by are sparse. But great access to Yellowstone. Love the cabin

We were very happy with the cozy little cabin. It’s tucked away but with amenities nearby. The Yellowstone entrance is just a stone’s throw away. This cabin is for people looking to unplug and enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer!
Thank you for a most pleasant stay and experience.

Overall, we were pleased. It met our needs and is a little bigger and better appointed than the pics of the inside of the cabin shows. There is a table and 2 chairs, a hanging hutch with dishes, and a repurposed desk to use as a food preparation station. There are coat pegs, wide window ledges, and shelves atop the bed posts that provide storage. We brought 2 TV trays and hanging shoe storage bag that were helpful. The TV trays made a luggage stand and a place to use the electric skillet we brought. (I'm glad I did because although a toaster oven was listed in the amenities, there isn't one. Also, TV useless.) The place is clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet. Careful - Hot water in the shower can be a geyser. Check-in was nightmare. The email we received before traveling from VRBO said they did not have any instructions, to contact the property manager. We did not make a screen shot of the property info, so were lost upon arrival. No cell service or internet!! Laurie at SG Motel saved us by sharing WiFi. Found info, but Prop Mngr wouldn't answer. Went to address but did not look like pics enough to risk trying the door. Back to SG Motel, finally resolved with VRBO and the owner. (Owner was very nice.) But it took 2 hours. Cabin is beside a shabby shed, near other cabins, and has a table on the porch and name plaque near the door. We bear some blame for not trying the door (which was unlocked). The outside area of the cabin was unappealing.

This little cabin was in an ideal location for visiting Yellowstone and seeing lots of wildlife. If you plan to have meals, keep them very simple as there is only a microwave for cooking, and the stores nearby have limited stock and are very expensive. If you just need a place to sleep it is a wonderful and less expensive alternative to staying at the park lodges or hotels at the busier locations (west and north gates).

Clean, cozy. Comfortable cabin, perfect for sleeping after a busy day in YNP. Surrounfed by tall pines, joyful birds, close to town for ice cream and beer.

The cabin itself was amazing, just as described and we enjoyed staying there. VERY quiet even though the road is close and the cabin itself was enclosed in a group of trees. We had rented the cabin for two nights and there was some miscommunication and we were not able to stay at the cabin the first night, however, the owner, Glenn did his best and was able to secure a hotel room in Silver Gate for us for the first night. Was a bummer because we truly would have enjoyed staying the two nights. John was great when we arrived Saturday morning and had everything set up for us at that time. I would agree with one of the other reviews that maybe the property could use a little "picking up", but the cabin itself was clean and comfortable. TONS of stuff to do in the mountains and in Silver Gate and Cooke City. We took advantage of a short horseback ride at Skyline Guest Ranch and the views were spectacular and our guide, Shelby was amazing and fun! Everyone was very nice and it was great to get away and just enjoy ourselves for a weekend!

I was in touch with the Kentucky owner, Glen, immediately after I was aware of the Yellowstone flooding. I could have totally avoided the NE entrance to Yellowstone. We had thousands spent for this "dream of a lifetime", retirement vacation. I questioned you, Glen, if everything was open, with a reply of YES. PLEASE, be TOTALLY honest with your guest. You knew I was also asking about the NE entrance to Yellowstone, as you are only 1/2 mile app. from it. I guess I should not assume that you would have been honest in your answer. The ALMIGHTY DOLLAR must reign above GOD in your heart. Stand in your guest shoes, be a man of God, shame on you. John, your caretaker was the BEST, because of him, our time was great. But you Glen, I and the other renters that you possibly have misled deserve an apology. God bless you and have mercy upon you. (We were told by the NE entrance gate ranger, possibly 3 years before reopening that entrance because of the infrastructure that lays damaged throughout the park.) From a 1000 cars a day to 0. My heart hurts and I pray for financial struggles that lie ahead, for the communities of SilverGate and Cooke City. Remember, if you remain honest and truthful with God , he will show the way. Again, shame on you Glen Turner, you are not a struggling local of this wonderful community.

My husband and I planned this trip as our belated honeymoon and it was wonderful. The property manager, John, and the property owner, Glenn, were great! Very responsive, very accommodating, and great hosts overall. We were a little uncertain about keeping our reservations due to the Yellowstone road wash outs blasted all over media but Glenn reassured us the trip would still be worthwhile and he was absolutely correct! The General Store in Silvergate was awesome in answering questions and suggesting beautiful hikes nearby and had great supply selections and tons of goats for sale. They are also renting electric assisted bicycles and we were able to ride bikes into the NE entrance to Yellowstone!! What a once in a lifetime experience! We highly recommend everyone to attempt to visit before they open the roads back up to motor vehicles. Silvergate and Cooke City were good to us. Beautiful scenery and quiet small towns and not far at all from Beartooth Scenic Highway and Chief Joseph Scenic Highway.

Great low key stay
The cabin is just as described - cozy and rustic. The area is just beautiful. The cabin is a good home-base to access Silver Gate and Cooke City (great places/awesome people), in addition to all the other natural wonders around. Onsite Prop Manager John is also helpful and super pleasant.

Quaint and cozy
This is a 100 year old cabin that has been renovated (electricity and plumbing) to make it very comfortable. Mind you, it is small...don't bring your big suitcases. Close to town, moose across the road. Chief Joseph Hiway on the way in was breathtaking as was Beartooth Hiway.

Excellent location.

Ok cabin. Horrible host
Well with Yellowstone getting flooded out we had to leave 2 days after being there on a 7 day trip. And now we had to get new rooms as we were 1000+ miles from home and we have asked for a refund from the owner and Vrbo and no one will respond so we are out the money for the days we didn’t stay and for the extra rooms we had to get. Won’t make this mistake again.

Unable to stay due to weather
We were not able to stay at the cabin due to weather. We found out the morning we were suppose to check in, from John, the property manager that the cabin did not have power. John was pleasant to speak to and very honest about the situation with the snow, etc. Glenn the owner was nice enough to allow a partial refund due to the power.

Rustic
John was very helpful once we arrived but pre-arrival correspondence needs improvement.
When traveling from afar knowledge of power issues should have been shared…
All and all rustic charm and John’s kindness and knowledge made up for arriving with no power.

Authentic cozy cabin!!
Loved this cabin! So cozy & authentic. The location at the Northeast entrance was perfect. Breakfast at the Silver Gate Cafe is a great way to start your day (try the pumpkin bread). Definitely would stay here again! May see wildlife, Moose or Bison out the window. Buck, the property managers dog may visit (he is so sweet)!

Nice Cabin, Good Location
We really enjoyed our cabin and the proximity to the park. It was exactly as advertised and was very comfortable.
I would not expect much from the nearby towns (Cooke City and Silver Gate). All restaurants were closed except for one and the local stores have very limited hours. This was likely due in part to the time of year we were there.

Good
Rustic, primitive 100 year old cabin. If you prefer modern conveniences this is not the place for
You. If you like rustic, quiet you will love the cabin.

Cozy unique cabin
This is a small, old, private cabin. Cutely decorated, but of course it's old, so the floors creak, and it's rustic. Comfy queen bed with nice linens. It's quiet, other than a little traffic noise from the Beartooth Hiway. It has a little deck with chairs and table looking out at woods and another cabin...never saw anyone at that cabin. Location is great ...about 1 mile from Silver Gate (has a few dining and shopping options) and a little farther to Cooke City (a few more dining/shopping options). Had a 10 cup coffee maker/filters ...BYO coffee, cups, silverware, dishes, microwave, fridge, TV, small table and 2 chairs. Bathroom is small, and space a bit tight if you are tall. Water pressure was good, and water seemed soft. Shower would intermittently switch from warm to hot, so just had to step aside a few times till back to warm.
Glen was great to work with. Very responsive to questions. John offered to take us to the waterfalls for a tour, but we ran out of time. His sweet dog, Buck, greeted us, but never barked or jumped on us.

Spent the time at a local hospital with a minor heart attack. Try again next year.
Wish I had one.

Convenient Location
Property is just outside the NE Yellowstone entrance so quite convenient to access Lamar Valley to watch wildlife. Also if you head east you are on the Beartooth Scenic Highway which is a wonderful experience. The cabin itself is fairly basic with no stove for cooking but a microwave and coffee maker so we were able to improvise our breakfast. Small and really only works for two.

Cozy Cabin In The Woods
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay!! John, the property manager, was so kind and helpful. Even lent us his binoculars to use while out hiking!! The cabin was so cute and cozy. Perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring. Only downside was the directions to find the cabin weren’t the greatest and you have no cell service out there so trying to find it was kind of difficult and frustrating. Once we found it once, it’s was easy to find again. It would be even harder if you arrived after dark. Other than that it was just what we were looking for!!!

Wolf creek crossing is a treasure
I loved staying at this cabin. It surpassed my expectations. It was clean and comfortable with all the modern comforts needed. This traditional cabin had such great mountain woods atmosphere. I loved sitting on the porch under the trees looking for wildlife and warming in the afternoon sun. The hosts were also very helpful whenever needed. I will be back.

Yellowstone visit
The cabin was a little more rustic than I expected, but it worked for us. It seemed fitting, in a way, to stay in a rustic cabin at Yellowstone. The instructions for checking out were non-existent so I hope we did everything okay.
