The bungalow was clean and comfortable, with a pleasant landlady. She brought fruit from the trees on the property (mangoes, bananas). The location was about 10 minutes walk to a small water-side neighborhood and 5 minutes from a bus stop (essential due to the 5km distance from the center of the town). The only downside was that the wifi never connected and the gas stove had no fuel for use. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

We enjoyed our stay in this bungalow, which was well-located for exploring the west half of Guadeloupe (Basse Terre), and has a beautiful new deck for watching the sun set over the water. Communication with the owner was great, and she was very welcoming (she managed to understand my high school French, and brought us some yummy treats when we arrived) and the unit was exactly as described. The air conditioner worked well, and wifi was OK (typical for the island). The house is a 10-minute drive from the town of Deshaies, and on a steep hill - you will probably need a car (and book the smallest car you can, as the driveway entrance is difficult to maneuver). There is a hotel with a beautiful pool and good restaurant very close-by. We did find the mattress to be pretty hard - again, our friends in another location had similar mattresses, so it may be typical for the island. We did get a few mosquito bites (hard to avoid with the open nature of the bungalow), and to be fair we did not use the mosquito netting as we probably should have. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this place.

Nous avons passé un mois, en Janvier dernier, dans ce bungalow, indépendant, sur le terrain de la villa de la propriétaire, parfaitement entretenu et arboré, dont la terrasse a vue sur la mer. Parfaitement situé, près de très belles plages, à proximité du magnifique Jardin Botanique, de la Petite ville de DESHAIES où l'on trouve tous les commerçants pour le quotidien, restaurants et surtout, admirer le splendide coucher de soleil sur la mer. L'accueil de la propriétaire est très sympathique, prête à rendre service pour satisfaire ses hôtes, voire même vous conseiller dans la réalisation de recettes Antillaises.... Nous y retournons deux mois l'hiver prochain.... C'est dire si nous avons apprécié notre séjour.

Dans son jardin un peu en hauteur, le bungalow est bien situé tant pour les randonnées à pied que pour la plage. Il est très bien aménagé et comporte tous les équipements nécessaires, en bon état de fonctionnement, y compris une machine à laver, ce qui est un plus. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par la propriétaire qui a su nous aider à découvrir sa région. C'est un plaisir de siroter son ti-punch le soir en regardant le coucher du soleil sur la mer depuis la terrasse. Les 3 semaines que nous avons passées nous ont paru bien courtes. Nous recommandons sans hésiter cette location.
