Very good location, the host is very helpful and kind! Two different station are very close, walking distance from the house, as well as delicious restaurants. The house itself is very comfotable, amazing, suprising :) cozy, definetly worth to go back again! Everything what you need is right there! Kioto is a beautiful town, must see in Japan! Many thanks for the host for having such great place!

The house is a traditional japanese house with multiple rooms and all needed facilities. There are secret doors and nice decorations. Close to two bus stops and a railway station, it can be used as a central hub in Kyoto.

First days of our first trip to Japan and could not have asked for a better stay. Thought I had turned into a ninja by the time we left after a comfortable and well located accommodation.

Nothing wrong at all would go back gladly if in Kyoto again.

The host is friendly and takes pride to his property. The property location is OK with 10-15 minutes walk to the subway

To be clear, this property charged reasonably with its offerings. I would classify this as a budget type of accommodation for family group that needs more space. To me I would not choose again due to: (1) when I choose an Airbnb while traveling with family, I focus on kitchen and laundry, neither of these two met my expectations. The kitchen is very small with limited offering that I do not think it can accommodate some cooking for a family group . The dryer takes forever to dry clothes. Each time you use washing machine and dryer you will pay. The amount is 100 Yen not much but you will have to keep coins in order to be able to use it. (2) The downstairs are roomy and the upstairs bedroom size is good but the ceiling is low and the stairs are dark and narrow. The host said I should learn about the Japanese culture and the Japanese way, which I agree but I have stayed in other facilities with much nicer experiences. I know this is my personal feeling and may not be something that other travelers care. Because of that we only stayed for one night even we booked five nights. We moved to a hotel which we had much better experience for our Kyoto trip. We did not get any credit back from the host as this is the risk of taking airbnb. My rating above is not because we did not get credit back. My only intension is to provide candid feedback for other travelers that may focus on some of the things that I focus.

Beautiful, traditional home. Great location. Well equipped kitchen. Ninja features for little kids!

Small point but… single-ply loo roll ? 🤣 Our host was friendly and helpful. No negatives really!

A well designed, comfortable, and creative space. Lots of great features and design made it a very comfortable stay. The host is very nice and gave us many recommendations on things to see in the area. There are also several very helpful city guides to reference on site.

No specific points that I would suggest to improve. All was fine for us.

Perfect location to explore Kyoto with plenty of good food options nearby. Wonderful host and careful details in a welcoming traditional Japanese house. Very convenient to have a big map of Kyoto on the wall to plan an discuss travel plans. Peaceful neighborhood with a stick clapping lady (usually around 21:00) to prevent us from the next great fire of Kyoto.

Fantastic house with a real Japanese feel, numerous fun surprises are waiting for you inside the house. The owner was extremely nice and very very informative, he spent literally a good 25 minutes explaining us, with detailed maps, everything we could do around Kyoto.

Its not exactly in the best location possible but really not far from public transports, and the center of the city is easily reached in just a few minutes. Maybe it would be nice to have a real coffee machine with grinned coffee and milk available in the fridge as a nice treat for guests? Just a suggestion!

Very spacey and comfortable to stay. Can feel fine traditional Japanese atmosphere. Easy access to various train stations and various tourist spots.
