We stayed at this great spot last year and we liked it so much we booked again for this year. It was another great experience. It’s clean and inviting, the location is great. Private, very clean, pretty garden, modern nicely decorated, full kitchen and very close to historical Nevada City and Grass Valley. We look forward to going back in the future.

We love this property: clean, quiet, private. We stayed here about 10 years ago and were happy to return. It is stocked with everything you might need from a coffee maker to umbrellas to a noice machine by the bed.
Grass Valley is a cute town with good food and friendly people. We toured the Empire Mine and drove to Bridgeport to see the covered bridge built in 1862.

We have rented VRBOs from coast to coast and I would rate this house in the top 10 (maybe top 5). Clean and well stocked. Looks like new construction but more than that, much thought have been put into this unit. I appreciate that they charge a lower cleaning fee, as we leave everything really clean and feel like we are getting ripped off with the huge fees that they typically charge. Great KING bed, Hugh end linens, seating is comfortable (in some units this is not the case!). Quiet neighborhood and close to town. Good Keurig coffee maker and plenty of snacks. Lighting was pretty good also (usually NOT the case). We will definitely be back!

A positive experience with a few minor issues. No satellite TV as was advertised. TV streaming process difficult to navigate. Suggest a railing on the entry steps as a safety issue exists. Very quiet and peaceful spot and no major complaints. We will definitely consider using it again.

The cottage was immaculate in every way. Furniture seemed brand new, bedding was top notch, kitchen appliances and everything one would need was right there, bathroom neat as a pin, fresh and clean. The decor was bright and charming, a TV screen in the living and bedroom, even the garden was neat and tidy. Great natural food co-op nearby, great little downtown with plenty of restaurants, even a nice park a few blocks away for hiking. And so rare and refreshing, a minimal cleaning fee. We always leave wherever we stay neat and tidy, and it's frustrating to see properties listed with fees equal to a days lodging.

Recently stayed at the cabin for 4 nights. It was as advertised (or better). Completely self contained and CLEAN. Cleanliness is a big deal for me. Honestly calling it a “cabin” doesn’t do it justice. It’s more of an apartment with all the modern amenities.
Super easy parking and if you’re looking for quiet and peaceful, this is the place. Already looking forward to my next visit.

This was a perfect small cottage exactly as described. It was literally spotless inside. It’s a short drive or a 15 minute walk to downtown Grass Valley. There are two parks less than a block away with a huge frisbee golf course

Butler Cottage is extremely well managed and maintained. A well-appointed property: comfortable and immaculately clean. The outdoor area was lovely and relaxing. Hosts were extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. The basket of snacks was much appreciated. (One very minor suggestion: a robe hook in the bathroom next to the shower would be nice.) If in the area, we will definitely stay here again!

The cottage was very comfortable and well-appointed. It had everything we needed and more. Great location in a quiet neighborhood. Set back behind the main house, surrounded by the garden, it felt very private and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Quaint Grass Valley Air B&B
My husband and I were in town for one of my best friends wedding....we arrived Friday evening around 5:30 and Justin the owner was there to greet us...he just happened to be following behind us and he recognized my personalized license plate because we had a conversation about that earlier on the phone...he was very friendly and offered to help us carry our luggage in which I thought was very nice...anyways the little cottage was verryyy comfy cozy and had everything we needed...Sunday on our way out to go home Justin and his partner Aldo were doing some yard work so we stopped to talk for a bit...they are both super friendly and nice too...we would definitely stay there again and recommend anyone who visits Grass Valley to do the same...😊

Perfect weekend
We were in town for 2 nights for a wedding. The Butler cottage was super cute, cozy, and very clean. The decor was very cool the patio/garden area was charming. The host, Justin, was very flexible. He made an early check in possible despite having back-to-back bookings.
If we’re ever back in Grass Valley, we’ll definitely be staying at the Butler Cottage. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay in Grass Valley. The cottage was exactly as expected, incredibly clean and well taken care of. We walked everywhere in town! Justin was very communicative and easy going. Would recommend this cottage to anyone staying in the area and would stay again!

Great little cottage
Butler Cottage is clean, well appointed and comfortable. One of the reasons we like renting houses is that we enjoy preparing our own food rather than eating meals out and the kitchen had most everything we needed, could use more eating utensils but other than that, lots of cookware, functioning stove, fridge and room to store groceries. The cottage is recently renovated so the furnishings are in great shape and it feels so comfortable! I sometimes travel alone and would feel safe and secure in this rental, I wasn’t alone this trip but I want to mention that I would feel comfortable here on a solo journey. My husband and I were with our adult daughter and we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend Empire Mine for sightseeing and the Arts Center is a great venue!

Butler Cottage
Even though this property was located in a residential neighborhood, it was a very quiet and peaceful setting. It was also located less than 2 blocks from a very nice and large park, Condon Park, with lots of hiking trails. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the stay.

Wonderful getaway
Very pleasant accommodations with garden entrance. Would have loved to spend time sitting in the garden, but the weather didn't cooperate. Next time! Nice snack basket, comfy bed, quiet, very close to town. Very happy with the stay.

We loved our stay at Butler Cottage. It has all the features that we wanted and special touches that make it great. The hosts are wonderful and gave us good restaurant and hiking recommendations. From the clean cottage to the snack supply and well supplied kitchen for making foot meals, this place is one we will likely return to.

I loved the sitting area in front of the cottage. It was fabulous having a little kitchen so we could have quiet breakfasts. It was nice and quiet to come back to in the afternoons to read and take naps. Only a 2 min.drive to the downtown. Lots of beautiful parks and trails neaby.

It was quiet and I loved how it had all the comforts of home. The rooms were well kept and nice to return to in the afternoons when we wore down and just wanted a peaceful place to read or nap on our vacation. It was only a 3 min.drive from the downtown where there are plenty of restaurants to pick form or the grocery. I loved having a kitchen so we could have peaceful breakfasts. I think it will be even lovelier when the spring and summer come. The garden will be beautiful.

Nice cottage for a couple
The cottage is really cute and perfect for a getaway weekend. It's behind a main home but you have your own space and can enjoy outside. Justin was also great at communicating quick with us. Highly recommended

The cottage was exceptionally clean everything you neede is there beautiful covered porch to enjoy your morning coffee just minutes away from all the local stores and shops if you're looking for a very reliable and clean place to stay I would definitely recommend this beautiful one bedroom cottage

We utilized this Property to have a place to sleep at night. We visited Grass Valley to spend time with relatives, that live here. Although we did not need a lot of the amenities that came with the Property, like the stove and/or kitchen, it was still very clean and well kept up.I would recommend this Property for anyone who is visiting the area. The location is close to the highway. The bed was comfortable. The thermostat was perfect for any heating or cooling condition you are normally used to. Overall, we are very happy that we chose this Property. And will stay again, the next time we visit the area.

WONDERFUL place to stay
I stayed here for 2 nights by myself for some work stuff & it was amazing. I slept so well, I felt so safe & everything was so clean! Not to mention Justin & Aldo were fabulous hosts & so helpful the entire time. Will definitely stay here again if I am in Grass Valley again. Definitely recommend.
