Very nice place to stay in Kathmandu. Location is near to the center, but in a quit area.The staff is super friendly and comfort you all the time. The food is awesome. We will definately come back.

Gurung's home is a family run guest house. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Santosh also helped out a lot in figuring out taxis, money exchange and recommending activities to do in Kathmandu and around. The breakfast was also very nice :) They were also able to accommodate me leaving my luggage while I did a two day trip to Bhaktapur. Keep in mind that the location is in a more residential and quiet area which is a 10-15 min walk from Thamel which can also be quickly done in a scooter. Thanks again for everything!

they are combining the typical livestyle of the villages with the lifestyle of the city. you feel like in an oasis. they brought a lot of unique things from their village to this guesthouse in the middle of the city. makes it look very welcoming.

The staff are incredible, helpful and kind and make you feel like part of a family. It’s also a much nicer, quieter area than Thamel (only 10 minutes walk away) and feels like an authentic local neighbourhood.

Our ground floor room was a little noisy in the mornings as the staff wake up very early. More soundproofing would help. Also the trek organiser who is often at the property was a little bit pushy when trying to make us book one of his treks, and asking other guests to sign up for treks very soon after they arrived.

A delight staying here. Room was extremely clean with comfortable bedding, bathroom clean with hot water on demand and breakfast was home cooked every day with omelet and sautéed vegetables. The manager, Santos, was very accommodating and organise my airport transfer promptly. I felt extremely welcomed

The staff are incredibly helpful. Santos especially went above and beyond to help me come up with day itineraries, and change a domestic flight time. They were incredibly inviting at all times, and very helpful!

The location is a ~25min from Thamel centre and this can feel a bit far to walk alone at night. I must note that I did always feel safe when walking back each night.

the first time we came to Nepal we stayed in Gurungs home the we went to other villages after all we came back this month to stay here again we liked the food the prices and so on the host was very kind and helpful the staff as well Santosh and he's young brother. thank you for having us and until we meet again.

Very friendly staff. Always ready to help you with a smile on their face. Comfortable bunks and a lovely setting makes this place perfect for budget travelers. A big thanks to Mr Mousam, Santosh and Rijan (the sweetest guy ever) for making my stay comfortable .

Very lovely staff, upgraded me to a bigger room because they had free rooms. Had a vent in my room and the bathroom was clean as well.

The property is well decorated, located just a few minutes from Thamel but quiet and peaceful, and has a very good value for money.

The staffs are very friendly and helpful.

I recently stayed at the Gurung's home in Nepal and it was absolutely amazing! The location is perfect, within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, they gave us great recommendations on things to do in the area and were always available to answer any questions we had. Overall, I would highly recommend the Gurung's home to anyone traveling to Nepal. The combination of the great location, friendly staff, and comfortable accommodations make it the perfect home-base for any adventure in this amazing country."

so quiet and worderful place, lovely host family, very close from Kathmandu center

The staff ensures you are having a good time exploring Kathmandu and are very helpful regarding all your questions. They offer a menu of which you can order the whole day, the prices are great and the quality is excellent. The hostel is located a few minutes walk from the centre, which is really nice as the area is a bit calmer.

Perhaps the airing of the dormitory could be a bit better
