The breakfast was phenomenal and Manu options to choose from. The staff was friendly and attentive. The location was close to the beach, visitor center, and cute little stores. Had a fitness and limited business center
The doors were very hard and loud to open and close to the rooms, there is an eyesore motel in front blocking ocean view. Paint is chipping on all the doors. Outdoor pool was super small and easily accessible to anyone.I had to relocate due to an abundance of insects crawling in the room.

I have two disputed charges - $686.55 and $75
On Jun 13 I reserved a hotel room at Holiday Inn Express Rockport TX through booking.com and was charged $546.71 for 3 nights, June 16, 17,18. I choose this hotel partly because the website said “free cancellations” - the website still posts that.
On Jun 14 I cancelled the reservation, but only got a refund of $336.88 - short of the full refund by $209.83 - I have spoken to both booking.com and the hotel manager and they acknowledge the shortfall, but both point the finger at the other as the one that has to take action. The hotel manager seems to be more correct, he points out that al funds/charges go through booking.com, so they should issue the refund. It’s been a week and nothing has happened. They owe me $209.83
I rebooked the same hotel and same dates and got a charge for $686.55 - but in mid trip I decided to cut the trip short by a day. I asked the hotel manager if I could get a refund for the final day. He looked at the file and said, ‘since your final day is more than 24 hours out, you won’t be charged when you check out, your detailed folio will only show charges for the two days you were there. When I checked out the front desk associate could not provide or bring a detailed folio. He said “you’ll get one in the email’ - that didn’t happen. They owe me one-third of the $686.55 = $228.85
Send dispute $75
They charged my Citi card $75 for ‘incidentals’ - saying it will be reversed if I don’t purchase anything. That never happened. I did not purchase anything.
So in the end, they owe me
$209.83 for ful refund of original reservation
$228.85 for 3rd night not used
$75.00 for incidentals not purchased
$513.68 Total
Via their customer survey requests I have send the above to both booking.com and Holiday Inn and gotten no feedback. I would suggest you pass the along to them and have them call me.

not prepared for a family suite…2 towels in room, no bedding for pull out sofa, no tv for sofa area, refrigerator unplugged. I had to retrieve missing items and bring them to the room. only late afternoon staff was helpful. they moved us to another room with my permission as we were in a boat trip, but left a piece of luggage and 2 drawers full of clothes in the old room. night shift had to retrieve from the new guests that they moved into our old room.

The beds are super comfortable. The location was great. Everything was very clean. The rooms were a great size for 4. The air worked great! The room was very nice and comfy. 2 tvs and a small living space. Would definitely stay again! Highly recommend.
The breakfast was just eh. The cheese omelets are good and bacon. We never saw cinnamon rolls, French toast like the website said. The pancake machine takes a long time to make a pancake. Maybe waffle makers would be better.
The worst part was the juices. It was like they watered them down big time. There is still a good selection of foods. We went during spring break so it was busy at breakfast. Go early bc by 9 everything was running out.

They were unable to provide a a ground level floor as requested. There was no shower curtain and no hairdryer and was told they did not have any spare hairdryers. The hotel was not filled to capacity by a long shot and the could have provided me a hairdryer from one of the many vacant rooms.

Breakfast was really good and had many choices for all of us. Will recommend this one to my family and friends.

Breakfast was poor, nicely done just lacked flavor and or not cooked properly. All the juice tasted horrible, bacon was extra greasy and contained a lot of salt as well the sausage was very dry. The French toast sticks were great.
Shower, there was no wand to better wash self and or kids.

The breakfast was fair. Due to the constant reminder they were understaffed, there was a lack of breakfast options and supplies. I wanted to get up and help!
Oh my gosh. We did not have enough towels, the shampoo, conditioner, and bath soap containers were empty, we did not have toilet paper, coffee cups,, etc.... and the room smelt like there may have been a dog boarding in the room before we arrived. When w,e asked for supplies we were told they may not have any left and they were short 10 people.

Arrived at 7:00 PM after a 4 hour drive only to be told that my room was not ready and would be another 30 to 45 minutes because they were short staffed.
