Luxury Villa in Vence Centre<br>Villa Les Bambous SLEEPS 10

This villa is beautiful and absolutely spotless. It had everything you need for a stay. It was in a great location and we spent 7 days lazing by the pool, walking into Vence for breakfast and dinner.
Vence is a lovely town. We didn’t have car but easily used Uber to travel to other towns in the area. Would recommend visiting St Paul de Vence which is beautiful.
On our last day the owner very kindly let us use the pool and the outdoor area after check out as our flight home was not until 10pm.
Would love to come back and stay again.

Den perfekte ferieboligen!
Fantastisk opphold i fantastisk hus!

Overall positive with some major drawbacks
We loved the location of the house (walking distance to farmer's / product market and a ton of restaurants), pool was excellent and kids used it everyday, and overall the house was clean / well-maintained.
The major drawbacks were the cats - at one point there were 3-4 cats outside the house, which made is impossible to hang out there with young kids. Also there was only 1 real full bathroom with a shower; the second bathroom with a shower/tub is on the top of floor without a door which made is hard to use with family around. The air conditioning worked off and on.

Fabulous property
This is the second time we’ve stayed at this lovely place. We are 4 adults and 3 teenagers. There is more than enough room for everyone. We love the fantastic pool and outside kitchen area. The house has 3 levels and is beautifully decorated. The air conditioning is very effective and it never
feels hot. We love the fact that it’s an easy stroll into Vence. I must mention the delightful, Rhoda, who is always available to answer any questions.
This house is very special and we hope to return again in the future.

This is an absolutely stunning property. The photos dont do it justice. There were seven of (2 families) and we never felt crowded. The bedrooms are large and have air con, which is really a necessity in August. The kitchen has everything that you need. And the outdoor kitchen has even more. The pool is perfect and the temperature was just right. Plenty of lounge chairs, tables and more pool toys than you can use. I think we added a few more to the collection! It only takes about 10 minutes to walk into town so it is very convenient. The driveway is quite narrow so if you have a large vehicle (we had a minivan) it can be a bit tricky but it worked.I must mention the delightful housekeeper. Rhoda is an absolute gem and was extremely helpful with questions. The owner is also quick to return emails. We loved this property and hope to return again.

This charming house has been renovated to a high standard and is very comfortably furnished. Its within a few minutes level walk of shops and restaurants which made it an ideal location for us but wouldnt be suitable for those looking for a quiet and peaceful stay as there is quite a lot of noise from traffic....I guess you cant have it both ways! The pool is a good size and the gardens are well maintained and have plenty of furniture that can be moved round to catch the sun all day long. Theres also a nice covered outdoor eating area and a BBQ. We were three couples who like to eat out a lot and wander round pretty towns and lanes without always being tied to a car - we had a wonderful week here and really enjoyed staying in the villa and in Vence. However, with only two bathrooms, one of which is ensuite, plus only three proper bedrooms (one room had dividing doors and one room had two beds at opposite ends of the room), Im not sure its really suitable for 10 unless you have children you dont mind sharing with! If I had any criticism at all, it would be over the extra charges imposed for cleaning and fees that werent made clear until the invoice was received. Im not sure how the cleaning charge can be justified as the house wasnt cleaned at all whilst we were there and we were asked to strip beds, empty bins and make sure garden furniture was placed in original position ourselves at the end of the week. It seems that the charge must be for changeover cleaning, but as the villa was already costing quite a lot, I would have thought this would have been included. And I believe fees should have been paid by home owner, not the guests, as we were paying for staying. Minor complaints.

We were surprised how close to the centre of Vence this property is. Just 5 mins walk to shops, and plenty of bars and restaurants. The property has everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay. Our party consisted of myself and my husband (late 50s) who chose the top floor bedroom with en-suite, (bit of a pain getting heavy luggage up 3 floors) Son and his wife and their 2 friends, and our adult daughter. So 5 Adults were sharing the main family bathroom. This was doable and we were told by the housekeeper who visited everyday that there was another shower outside they could use, however another en-suite on that level would have made this property perfect.Great pool area, helpful housekeeper.

Rhonda could not have been more helpful prior to our trip and we would certainly return to Vence and especially to this gorgeous villa.

The perfect base from which to explore beautiful Vence and the Côte d'Azur!
I read the previous review dated August 2012 and can only agree completely with their glowing report.
A party of eight of us, consisting of three children under 10, one 20 something and four over 40's arrived from New Zealand for a week long stay in late August 2012.
The location of the villa is absolutely stunning. We awoke in the morning, looked out over the wonderful outdoor pool and were greeted with postcard like views of the viaduct over La Lubiane to Vence. The home is really set for outdoor living with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen (which was used for all our meals), gas barbecue, sun-drenched yard and family sized pool under the palms. Absolutely first class!
Coffee and pastries are a short stroll away over the viaduct, as is the village market (offering all of the produce you would associate with provincial France), and most importantly several wine merchants.
Inside, the villa has been impeccably maintained and was spotlessly clean. My wife is very discerning when it comes to cleanliness and she could not fault the home at all. Strong endorsement indeed! All of the bedrooms were luxuriously appointed and the beds (well mine anyway) was very comfortable. The second floor loft was the perfect space for our young-ones. The inside kitchen had all you would expect, though I'm not really qualified to comment further as I do not believe we used it at all - the outdoor kitchen saw all the action.
Whilst we have fond memories of the many sights seen and places visited on the Côte d'Azur, some of the best days were spent at the villa lazing around the pool, cooking outside and sipping wine while the kids splashed in the pool.
We were in France a total of four weeks and our week at this villa in Vence was a real highlight. I cannot speak highly enough of both the location and home itself. A real slice of paradise!
Thanks Rhonda and Robert!
Cheers Andrew & family

A beautiful villa with pool in bucolic surroundings
Three generations of my family stayed here in August 2012 - six adults and three children (two 8 year olds and a three year old).
I had many questions for the owner prior to committing to the rental and Rhonda answered them all completely.
The house, which was spotlessly clean and just as shown in the photos, was definitely large enough for all of us. The pool had been newly installed and was especially inviting to the children.
Both kitchens (one indoor & one outside adjacent to the pool) were well stocked with crockery. We ate breakfast every day at home (the boulangerie is about 5 minutes walk away), a couple of lunches and one dinner. There are a variety of restaurants in the centre of Vence which is a short walk away. We especially enjoyed "Restaurant La Farigoule" which we visited twice.
The aircon in the bedrooms was more than sufficient to keep the rooms cool - sometimes European aircon can be anemic at best.
We rented two cars between 3 families. I would recommend a car for travelling around the area, although my parents took the bus from the center of Vence to Cagnes & Nice which only cost 1 euro (perhaps because they are retired?). Still, a car is recommended.
There was space for the two cars to be parked at the side of the house - although the Peugeot 807 (7 seat MPV) which I had rented was a very tight squeeze. My sister's rental car was smaller and it fitted fine. There is also on-street parking outside the villa, and we never had a problem finding a spot, so after scraping the Peugeot, it was parked on the street the rest of the time.
During our week, we visited Monaco (via the Grande Corniche), spent a couple of days at Bijou Plage in Juan-les-Pins, pottered around Antibes, as well as St Paul de Vence, Cannes, Nice. Plenty to do for all tastes.
The villa is highly recommended and we hope to return in the future!

My family of 5 and my sis...
My family of 5 and my sister inlaws family stayed in
this beautiful home for a week in August. The
home had everything and more than what we
needed. The villa was clean and very well
organized. The proximity to the town for picking
up croissants for breakfast and fresh fruit in the
afternoon to enjoy on the terrace was perfect. The
highlight of our stay in the south of France for our
children was relaxing in the backyard of the Villa. I
definitely recommend this home and hope to
reserve a week there again in 2011. Thank you
Rhonda

We stayed in this beautif...
We stayed in this beautiful spot for 2 weeks in July, 2007. We were a party of 6 (3 mature couples)and found the villa very well equipped (great outdoor kitchen with modern gas stove, dishwasher, barbecue)as well as excellent indoor kitchen. Our luggage was lost by British Airways for 12 days so we were back and forth to the airport in Nice numerous times, but it is only a 20 min. drive. It was wonderful to walk across the bridge each morning to buy fresh baquettes, enjoy the market and the old town. People were friendly and it was convenient to so many interesting tourist spots. Jel was very helpful. If one had children it is a wonderful place to rent, as one of the bedrooms is especially designed for kids. One couple used the studio instead of the kids bedroom and it also had a little kitchen. We would return there in a heartbeat! Thanks Rhonda and Robert--we had a wonderful time.

Dear Rhonda and Robert;
...
Dear Rhonda and Robert;
My husband and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for what turned out to be one of the best family holidays we have had. Following many days of sightseeing and local travel we looked forward to retreating to your comfortable villa. The majority of our dinners were spent poolside in the Cuisine d'ete enjoying panoramic mountain views and wonderful weather. The pictures you have posted on this site do not really capture the ambience and beauty of the villa and its setting. Our family quite enjoyed strolling into Vence on many evenings to enjoy the local hospitality. Leisure time at Les Bambous significantly contributed to a wonderful Cote D'Azur experience. We definitely recommend this property to anyone who truly wants to immerse into the French joi de vive!

Being our family's second...
Being our family's second trip to France, rather then stay in hotels, we thought we would rent a villa. We had some concerns in doing so, however our experience with this property has forever changed our perspective. Dealing with the owners, Rhonda and Robert, was a pleasure. They were both very accomodating to any questions or issues that we had. Their attendent, Jill, was both charming and helpful. We enjoy sightseeing and were pleasantly surprised at how central we were to various cities including; Nice, St. Paul de Vence, Cannes, Monaco, Grasse and Aix en Provence. My wife was also pleased how proximal we were to Vence, where she walked daily to shop at the fresh markets. To anyone who is considering staying in hotels, we would encourage you to reconsider and enjoy France upfront and personal by staying at this lovely villa.

Hello to all who contempl...
Hello to all who contemplate renting a home in the South of France.Wew are a family of 6 who spend a 4 to 8 week holiday in France almost yearly. We always include our children and often friends of our children!
This year we happened upon this wonderful home and found it to be one of the best experiences in 9 years. The home was exceptional and the owners delightful and more than accomodating if we needed anything...and indeed we did need many things during our trip! The caretaker of the property was just delightful and always with a smile and a kind word. The house and furnishings were beautiful as well as extremely comfortable...especially the beds and linens! We did a great deal of cooking and found that we had all that we needed to prepare a wonderful meal ...which we enjoyed on the outside terrace by the pool almost nightly! The center of town is easily walkable and found people to be just delightful ...as we always do in this part of France!
I would encourage anyone making a trip to this part of France to consider this holiday rental ....I would suggest that you would not find a more pleasant place to bring your family and or friends to enjoy the wonders of this beautiful land.
Thank you so much Rhonda and Rob for your kindness and the opportunity to stay and ejoy your beautiful home ....we shall not forget your kindness !
Best wishes,
Catherine,John (myhusband who did not get to come but heard again and again how much fun we had!),Jeff,Chelsea,Rebekah, andlast but not least Louis :-)

We rented Villa les Bambo...
We rented Villa les Bambous for a week in July 06. The Villa was better than expected, as the photos of the property did not in our mind show this property to its full potential. The property is well situated within the town and is easily within walking distance of the local shops and restaurants.
The property was well suited to accommodate two couples and two or three children, however there is likely to be a heated discussion as to which couple get the splendid upper floor room! (I lost). The downstairs double room is however absolutely fine.
Having the detached, open dining area beside the pool is a big plus and we used this for all our dining requirements. Having the gas barbeque was also handy.
I would have no trouble in recommending this property to others.
