We really liked this property’s location, close to Kapa’a (walkable) and the Pacific shore. The owner was responsive to a minor question about a tv problem and the property was in good condition. We would rent it again, and Kauai is beautiful!

This was perfect for our family. Everything we needed was provided. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall, we were comfortable. Beds not great, but worked for a week. Could not get the TV and DVD to work in master bedroom. The coffee pot needed to be replaced during our stay…it was taken care of…not as quickly as we would have liked. The walls are thin and we could hear everything around us. The location is amazing. We loved being directly on the beach and near lots of restaurants. The walking path is amazing. Lots of resort facilities, but we didn’t partake.

Just as stated in the ad, right on the beach. Beautiful sunrises. Ad reads accurately. Had enough TP which was great. Only negative I felt was that there isn’t an air conditioner in the second bedroom and there wasn’t any coffee for the first morning. After a long flight, it would have been nice not to have to run out first thing in the morning to get coffee. ❤️

The grounds were clean and well maintained. The staff was very nice and the check-in and check-out was easy. The unit had more amenities than I had anticipated. This was within easy walking distance of Kapaa. After having stayed at other places on the island, I was very pleased with the location. It was close to town but the grounds give a sense of being further away.

The condo is located on the east central coastline, PERFECT for launching to any destination in Kauai. Room was clean and has all amenities you'd need for 2 people. You can walk out back porch to a great shoreline/beach or get in your car and go see it all. 15 minutes away from Lihue Airport. Highly recommend this property. If Air Conditioning is a concern for you, you'll be happy with this condo.

The location of this condo is perfectly situated across the bike path from the beach. The sunrises were amazing from the lanai and even better from a beach chair on the beach. The grounds at Pono Kai were well-maintained with plenty of activities, green grass, beautiful flowers, and even banana trees. We enjoyed the basketball and pickleball courts, the exercise room, the pool/hot tub, and even bocce ball. The koi pond with waterfall was beautiful, also. Downtown Kapa'a was a very short walk to the north with several dining and shopping options. Groceries were a short drive to the south to Big Save or Safeway or Costco in Lihue. The Coconut Marketplace was a nice shopping area with the best ABC store on the island that we found. The condo was a little small for 6 adults, but it would've been comfortable with 5 adults. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and more. The bathrooms were outdated with stains in the tub areas which surprised us a bit after it was updated in 2019. The 2nd bedroom does not have AC, so it did get warm even when the 1st bedroom did not shut the door at night and the 2 tower fans and ceiling fan were running. The condo has several items to use on the beach (chairs, towels, boogie boards, and snorkel gear) which made it a great vacation on the beach. The owner, representative, and Pono Kai staff were very attentive to our needs. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!! Mahalo!!!

Fabulouse location and beautiful view. Spacious Condo. In need of updating and plumbing work. If you are ok with a little grungyness this place is awsome.

The good....Overall, this was a great option for my family. The ground floor unit makes it easy for the kids to access the beach and the grounds. The central location made it convenient to drive to everywhere on the island from the north (Princeville) to the south (Eleele). Love being able to walk to restaurants and shops that didn't feel super touristy. The AC works great too. Now for the not so great. The unit is a bit old and dated, especially the bathrooms. There's also a musty smell in the unit. Had to kill a couple of cockroaches in the kitchen, despite being very careful not to leave food out and to wipe up crumbs. The grounds seem well maintained, though the buildings are looking tired. Despite all of that, I'd say the unit is still a good value given the location.

We have enjoyed staying in this unit many times. Being ground floor and steps from the beach make for a picture perfect vacation. We also like being right in the middle between North shore and South shore. The unit is equipped with everything you need for a day out snorkeling, boogie boarding or just lounging on the beach. If it’s raining or you’re too sunburn to go out, you’ll find lots of games to keep you entertained. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to come back again soon!

Property grounds were great. We had beach front unit, ground level D-102. When booking I noticed the listing stated Fully renovated in 2019. The unit did not appear to be renovated especially shower/tub unit. This was not a tub I would have placed a child in for a bath. Unit seemed clean with a musty smell. Size was adequate for four adults.

Cannot say enough good things about this wonderful property. Excellent location. Many dining options. Adjacent to beach and beach path. Well stocked. Property manager very responsive. Will definitely return.

Our group of four had plans all over the island. The location of this unit was convenient for us to drive to either end of the island and to the grocery store quickly of needed. The condos location to downtown kapaa also allowed for us to walk to restaurants and shops on main street. The actual property that the condo is on was immaculate and just a few steps from the beach. The beacb was quiet and had very few people on it so it felt luxurious. The hot tub was the only facility we used and it was very clean, as were the main office and grounds. The actual unit was clean and habing a second bathroom was something we were looking fkr but proved to be an added bonus. We spent the majority of our time, when at the unit on the beach or sotting in the lanai enjoying the smell of paradise and the un obstructed views of the ocean. This location also provided a place to observe amazing sunrises.

We enjoyed our stay here. The property met our expectations. The WiFi didn't always work and an outlet in the guest bathroom was not working. Other than that it was just fine. The view from the Lanai is amazing and really enjoyed the walking path to town. Great location centrally located.

Great spot, very convenient, condo had all necessities.

We had a ground floor oceanfront unit. We were about twenty yards distance from the beach. I didn't realize that the spray from the ocean necessitated wiping the windows of the lanai door clean a few times each week. The unit was comfortable. Previous occupants left behind little things in the kitchen. They must have half a dozen salt and pepper shakers. No complaints. Close to groceries, gas stations, restaurants and shopping. There even ss an ABC store about two blocks away. I would rent the unit again.

We loved our week in this lovely home! So tastefully decorated and well supplied with all we needed to enjoy a week in this beautiful location. We loved being on the ground floor and the ease of walking out to enjoy the 8 mile paved walk along the coast. We had a few days of rainy weather and succeeded in putting together the surfboard puzzle provided.

The unit was everything we needed it to be. The beach is just feet away and perfect for watching sunrise every single morning. There is a paved bike path that runs through resort so rented bikes for kids all week. Ground unit was perfect so could bring bikes in every night. Desk staff helpful and check in easy. Haldy way between Poipu and Princeville soakea a great base camp. Food trucks, ABC store, and restaurants within walking distance. Great time by everyone

We spent 9 days here and 14 days total on Kauai. The resort had great amenities: pool, ping pong, giant connect 4, and bag toss to name a few for kids. They also have grills scattered throughout. There is laundry facilities at each building. Cost $1.50 per wash and per dry. Condo unit had everything we needed: beach chairs, umbrella, binoculars, beach towels, regular towels, everything we could think of for kitchen utensils. The beds were comfy and the view amazing! The location was perfect for walking up to dinner and shopping. The staff there were very helpful and nice when we had any questions. We will definitely be staying here again shall we come back to this island. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

We stayed with a group of 5 adults and the 2 bedrooms and pull out couch worked great. Perfect location along the bike path in Kapa'a with beach front views. Property had pool, hot tub, games and bbqs and hammocks all over. I loved the little garden where guests were welcome to pick fresh herbs from. Highly recommend!

The condo was very clean and roomy. It had everything we needed during our stay plus some great bonus items. The cards and games were a hit as well as the beach chairs and snorkel masks. The best part was sitting on the front patio and taking in the sunrise every morning, what a beautiful view!! We had such a great vacation, thank you so much for allowing us to share your paradise!

Great location, walking distance to restaurants, the beach, shopping. Kapa’a is perfect for being in the middle between the north and shouts shores. The condo was great and had everything we needed. The property owners were great to work with!

We just returned from our trip to Kauai and staying at this property and had a great time. The condo was clean, the rooms were large, and the location was great. Not only is the condo centrally located on the island AND so close to the beach, but there are plenty of food and shopping options nearby. If I was returning to the island my first choice would be to book this condo again.

The place was perfect for my family of 4 (2 kids - aged 11 and 13). It was clean, well-stocked with all the cooking utensils, plates, pots, pans,etc. Plenty of room for the 4 of us, with each kid having their own bed. Literally right off the water in Kappa. Walking distance to downtown Kapaa which made it fun to get shaved ice. There is a Safeway nearby to stock up with food. Location was perfect so you could get to the North beaches and South beaches easily. Only 2 things to make this even a stronger rating (keep in mind it is already a perfect 5 for us) - perhaps updating the guide left in the condo with new instructions - for example, the instructions for tunnels beach was not accurate but we figured it out. One other small thing would be to encourage the Pona Kai mgmt to not require parental signatures for teenagers who want to play ping pong. But these are small things - overall we would come again to this place next time we are in Kauai.

We stayed in this same condo five years ago, and we came back to it again for many reasons. One of my favorite things in life is to sit on this lanai and watch the sunrise. The condo is equipped with the basics you need, furnished appropriately, and has an AMAZING location. We love staying in Kapa’a because it is somewhat central on the island between north and south. This is the perfect home base for anyone visiting Kauai. It’s walking distance to shopping and restaurants in Kapa’a, and the north or south shore are only about 30-40 min away depending on traffic. We’ll be back!!
