This was our 3rd summer staying here and it just doesn’t get any better! We’ve already booked for next summer! We have two families share the house and there are not many other homes on Oneida lake that can fit that many of us! The beds are comfy, the space is beautiful, the sandy beach is great for the kids…and you cannot beat the views. There’s a reason we keep coming back!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. Wonderful views all day, but especially during sunset. Instant access to Oneida Lake and its long sandbar made for such a great time for the kids (7-9yrs). A short walk into town, and short drives to Fort Rickey Zoo, Sylvan Beach Amusement Park, and Verona Beach State Park made for some great times. We even drove to Enchanted Forest Water Safari for a nice day trip. Carl was a terrific host and always responded to our questions and minor hiccups. Thanks for being a great host, Carl!

We come and stay at a Oneida Lake every summer and you just absolutely cannot beat this place! We have 9 of us and the 5 bedrooms are plenty of space for all of us to sleep. The view feels like ocean front, instead of just lake front with the huge glass windows and doors and the sandy beach out front. Sitting and having a morning cup of coffee with that view or watching the sunset and relaxing is worth the cost alone! The inside is nicely decorated and we brought groceries for the week and used the stocked kitchen constantly. There are two kayaks and multiple tube floats that we used all week with life jackets provided. We have stayed here for two summers and plan to rebook for next summer as well! Carl is easy to get in touch with and is a great host!

This house is stunning with even more stunning views from the back porch. Our girls loved playing in the sand, swimming in the lake and learning to water ski! The host was amazingly friendly, and we feel grateful they opened their home to us.

Just what we were looking for
The home is just as pictured and described. The view can not be beat. Each night’s sunset could be seen from any of the rooms facing the lake. The lake was very accessible- meaning, from our 7 year old son to his 83 year old Grandmother, all could easily wander into the lake as the depth was ideal for both young and elderly to feel comfortable. The provided kayaks, paddle board, and tube got much use. The house is located in the shallows of the lake so there was no competing for water space with motorized boats- unless you want to paddle to the depths. The house came fully equipped with every need (we did purchase some paper products at the end of our stay to replenish): paper products, kitchen supplies, bedding, and towels. All we needed was our luggage. The home is walkable to town. Dollar General is only a few short blocks away for day to day needs. The “downtown” Sylvan Beach area is less than a mile away. One morning we (age 7-83) chose to walk street side to down town and beyond to the canal and return to the home by way of the beach. It was slightly over 2 miles round trip. Sylvan Beach was within a 45 minute ride by car to Green Lakes State Park, Chittenango Falls, Skaneateles, and Brimfield Farm Winery (trips we chose to do), among many other attractions.
Craig was very easy to contact upon our arrival and available for any and all questions we may have had.
We have rented many times from VRBO properties and this is amongst our favorites.
Whether relaxing on the deck just admiring the view of the lake, or hopping in to enjoy one of the many provided water activities the LUX Sylvan Beach is what you are looking for.

Great in so many ways!
This is a great place! Very clean and everything it is advertised to be. The beds are super comfy. Three of the five bedrooms have wonderful lake views. Two and a half baths worked well Appliances are new and work perfectly including the front loading washer and dryer.
The deck is wonderful!!! And furnished with quality, comfortable outdoor furniture. We enjoyed using the kayaks and the paddle board. The lake is shallow and the water just a few feet from the deck making it especially suitable for small child.
There are other houses on either side but people were very respectful and it was as never unpleasant have others on either side. We rarely noticed anyone around.
The house faces the west. Full sunlight all afternoon and spectacular sunsets in the evening.
Check in and check out could not have been easier.
We hope to return again next year.

It is a great house for a family trip.
Few issues in the beginning but Carl was able to respond very quickly and we enjoyed our vacation. Would rent again for sure

Beautiful home
Carl was a great host and helped us out a lot. We really enjoyed staying in his beautiful home. The sunsets are beautiful and there is much to do on this lake. Even the neighbors are so friendly!

Awesome House
I have been going to Sylvan Beach my whloe life and have been renting a camp there for the last 15 years. This camp, by far, was the best home we have ever rented. The central air was very important to me and it had to be on the beach, which it was. The bedrooms were large and the deck was big enough for all of us. The table on the deck seated 8 which was great! We're going back next year. It's pricey but worth it for everything that you get for your money!

Great family getaway close to home
The property and house were absolutely gorgeous. Property manager was easy to reach if you had any questions. This rental will not disappoint. Good places to eat that were close by which made ordering out very easy. I would definitely rent this property again.

Carl is the Man
The beach house was the perfect social distance oasis for our 2 large families (10 kids between us). The beach has an ocean like feeling, but the football field shallowness eased a lot of parental anxiety as the kids had a blast splashing around. The house easily accommodated both families and no one felt cramped. Private beach was worth the price of the booking and we plan to be back in the future. The homeowner Carl was super accommodating and available to answer questions whenever the need arose. Loved our vacation!

Beautiful Lakeside View
Awesome property with a beautiful lakeside view. Spacious and pleasant interior with music speakers throughout the ground floor and deck. Large table and chairs for dining on the deck. Odd trash removal arrangement, but no major issues.

Loved This Place!
We were at the Sylvan Beach House for a first time ever, four-generational vacation, and from my 84-year-old mother down to my three toddler grandchildren, we all loved it. Our only complaint would be the week flew by way too quickly! The house, the deck, the beach - all gorgeous. The house is well-appointed and well kept. We liked how the kitchen and living room are one large room, allowing us to be together but still have plenty of room. The wall that faces the lake is almost entirely glass, providing an incredible view from inside the house. The first couple days we were there were rainy, but even those days were enjoyable, watching the rain (and an intense thunder storm) over the lake. Having very young children with us, I would offer the caveat that the house is not designed with little ones in mind. We expected that, came prepared, and set about baby-proofing as soon as we arrived. The kids loved playing on the beach, and several of us had fun in the kayaks. Carl was always quick to respond to any questions we had, both before we went and while we were there. The area was quiet, the sunsets breathtaking. This was a very long overdue, much needed vacation, and we are grateful to have been able to spend time together at such a nice place. :-)

Great Vacation
I stayed at this beach house along with my family last season and are now re booking for theup coming season. The house is absolutly beautiful and you can tell that the owner spared no expense when building it as it was done first class all the way. Its on the sandy beach and the unobstructed panaramic lake views are like looking out on the ocean as there is nothing but water as far as you can see. The kyaks were a big hit with my kids. My husband and I took long walks on the beach and watched sunset each night. The beach house was very clean upon arrival and was everything and more than we expected from seeing the photos online. The village of Sylvan Beach is a cute quaint area. The time that we were in Sylvan Beach there was a car show, a motorcycle show and a country concert all in the same week! We especially enjoyed the steak and seafood place down the street and taking the kids to the local amusement part. We will be returning to this beach house for many years to come and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a wonderful home away from home.

Relaxing!
We had such an amazing time staying here! It is right on the water at the end of the beach so it was very quiet and peaceful. The sunsets were amazing. The house was spotless. Very clean and welcoming. I highly recommend this place for everyone.

Perfect for multi-generation families!
We've rented many houses for family vacations and this house was by far the best! The first floor master suite was perfect for older family members, the kayaks were a big hit with the kids, several restaurants and ice cream parlors (we loved Cone Heads) within walking distance, easy drive to places we wanted to go - Cooperstown, Madison-Bouckville, Hamilton - and best of all absolutely beautiful lake sunsets from our own private beach on the large patio. We'll be back!

Excellence
I stayed at this house last summer with my family to celebrate my fathers 90th birthday and had one of the best family vacations we've ever had. When you first walk into the door you feel like your on the ocean as the panaramic unobstructed view is just magnificent and appears to be endless. It truly took our breath away. The house itself was built with quality throughout and it is obvious that the owner did not skimp on anything. My kids had a great time playing on the sandy beach throughout the majority of our stay and the short walk to the village was an enjoyable stroll. There was plenty of nice eateries in town and even an all year round amusement park that the kids must have went to at least three times during our stay.
I would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone considering staying here as I have stayed at other Sylvan Beach rentals in the past and have not seen anything even remotely close to this home in comparison.

Great time
Had a wonderful vacation at this beautiful beach house. Phenomenal location and the photos can't fully portray how nice and luxurious the house is.(can't call it a camp) The property is extremely clean and well maintained. Carl was extremely helpful and receptive and I'd definitely recommend it to a friend or relative (as long as it wasn't a future week we wanted to rent it :).
We had perfect weather and used the kayaks provided (what a great feature)and swam every day. The water was perfect with a sandy bottom. It is shallow for over 100 yards out making it perfect for children. The only challenge was making it through the algae mucky water that extended from the beach about 3 feet. However after the initial few feet the water and sandy bottom was excellent.
There are cute venues throughout Sylan Beach and a small amusement park is a plus for those with children. All in all , a great rental that allowed us to make memories that will last a lifetime providing a special vacation with our son's and their families.
