Lovely property. Amazing views. Comfortable beds. Good kitchen and bathrooms in main house. Lovely clean pool. Great beach chairs and umbrellas. Property managers - Steve and Sommers - were very responsive and helpful.

we loved our stay at the beautiful location and home. The hosts were responsive to all our questions and everything was just perfect! (although be forewarned that once you are done with the toilet paper provided you are on your own!!!) It was like a dream to wake up to that beautiful view every day. All the beds were comfortable and we loved having a washer dryer available to wash up the beach towels. for a lovely relaxing vacation I highly recommend El Cerro for your stay.

Beautiful!
I just got home from a work retreat I hosted there with my work team of 10 people. The property is truly amazing. There are wild horses, pigs and chickens nearby. And, our new fur friends who reside on the property. They hung out with us most of the time and were a pleasure.
The homes provided all we needed to cook and had plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. There were lots of pool and beach items provided and this was a plus. The owners went above beyond to make sure we had what we needed. They were super responsive and friendly. Awesome recommendation to Caracas beach which is nearby.
I would recommend a Jeep if renting a vehicle as the property is rustic, but charming. You will need wheels to get around the property and the surrounding area.
Overall, we had a blast and will miss the breeze and beauty that El Cerro offered. Thanks Sommer and Scott!

AMAZING PROPERTY FOR MY DAUGHTER'S WEDDING
This property was outstanding it housed all 19 of us comfortably. The 3 houses were special and my family was extremely comfortable. The property managers Sommer and Steve were unbelievable they looked out for us in so many ways. Any issue we had was remedied quickly. Pool House was amazing partied for the whole time we were there. We had a few fresh Mangoes on the property. The Big Day was beautiful no issues a Great Wedding Day. I recommend this property to anyone with a large group. We only had one issue with the island, make sure you take the time to grab as much food as you can on the main island if you're on an extended stay, Prices were really high. All in all it was an awesome experience thanks again to Sommer and Steve Amazing Hosts. 💯💯💯

El Cerro is amazing
This is a gem of a property on the island. We went in May so the grounds weren’t quite green however this did not take away from the beautiful views especially from the rock house. The property has three houses all of which have their own character. We were able to house our whole family there for our wedding which was help at Encantada. The pool is great and the property dog is the most friendly dog you will every meet. She joined us everywhere on the island. El cerro gives a very at home feel. I would recommend getting a few golf carts to get around as the grounds are quite large however it is only a 5 min ride into town and into the beach. We definitely plan on coming back for our anniversary in the future.

Perfect Vieques property for large groups
Nothing disappoints at El Cerro - the houses are wonderful, large and offer amazing views. The property is huge and private but close to the market and dining. The caretakers are awesome and you'll fall in love with Blue Bell the dog. For a large group El Cerro has everything!

This property is lovely and the views are exceptional exceptional. You can experience both sunrise and sunset from the Rock House.
The Pool House was our gathering place both for mornings and after a day of exploring.

Beautiful location - perfect for groups
We stayed at El Cerro with 20 of our closest friends and family. We also had a wedding ceremony and reception on the grounds.
The property is gorgeous. The houses are nicer than the pictures convey. The location is great relative to everything on the island.
Lastly Kaytie and Christian were amazing - communicative and attentive.
Everyone loved their time there - we can’t wait to go back!

Perfect for a wedding venue and family reunion
We had an unforgettable time at El Cerro. Our wedding celebration included 60 guests and the space by the main house was perfect. They offered all that we needed for the week stay at EL Cerro including beach towels and toys. Our group had 11 children staying at the finca and all had a blast at the pool or running around outdoors. Katie and Chrstian were very attentive and communicative. There were some minor situations that they had to assist us with, that were taken care of immediately. We definitively appreciate their responsiveness.
No doubt this is the best property in Vieques if you are traveling with a large group. We would love to repeat our visit to EL Cerro in the near future.

Beautiful retreat
Such a beautiful property! With everything you need for a great stay in Vieques. We had a big group with lots of children ages 4 mos- 9 years and everyone in our group had such a great time. Kaytie and Christian are very attentive and wonderful hosts. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip!

Best New Year's Family Trip Ever!!
Best place ever to host a family vacation! We had 16 relatives from ages 92 to 6 months and we were able to accommodate everyone and our amazing staff comfortably for 7 days. I will never be able to describe our stay adequately. It was such a joy to stay here.
Everything you need is there to cook and serve everyone in each home. We used the Main House as the hub for everything. We lounged at either the bar patio, the front patio, or in the TV room (yes they have TV service there so you won't miss any games :-) ).
We did Yoga, had lunch, and swam at the pool where there is a BBQ grill, pool toys and floats. The pool was nice (a little cold but it was January). There is also a sauna there, we didn't use it though but looks nice.
If you have a little business to take care of, a printer and desk are available at the Main House along with wifi that works all over the property. Our T-Mobile service was great everywhere except the pool house but, the wifi kept us in communication with them.
If you little ones, Katie has made sure you are able to accommodate them in all the houses with Pack & Plays so you don't have to lug them on the plane.
We had no power issues at all, none! The last day we were there the power went down for about 30 min but the generators kicked on right away so we didn't skip a beat. (One and only time the whole trip). And don't worry about not having A/C at the Main house and the Rock house, you don't need it. There is a constant breeze that is just wonderful. Having the ceiling fans and floor fans (if you need them) in every room, staying cool was never an issue for anyone. The Pool house is at the lowest part of the property so the breeze is not as strong therefore the A/C helps .
The property is such that you never want to leave. You could not ask for a more amazing view anytime of day. There is something to do for everyone in Vieques and this is the perfect place to be close enough to town but easily retreat for some peace from the tourist areas.
Christian & Katie are amazing property managers. The homes are clean and well supplied. The grounds are immaculate and just beautiful. They and their family are just precious. I cannot thank the family that owns this beautiful estate enough for opening it up for others to enjoy. Their father's vision of paradise is just that. And what he built was just awesome. It truly is that wonderful. I can't wait to go back!

Perfect Property for our wedding weekend
We were looking for a property in Vieques that would house a large group for our wedding party and found El Cerro on VRBO. While vacationing on the island I contacted the property manager to see if we could tour the property before making our decision. Christian was very accommodating and we were able to do a tour right away. It was perfect for our needs. After having to postpone our January wedding due to Hurricane Maria, we were able to reschedule everything for June. It was great to be back on the island and see it welcome back tourists.
Christian and Kaytie are wonderful hosts. Not only are they the nicest but they were there when we needed them but also left us alone for us to enjoy our time. They live on the backside of the property so are easily accessible for any needs. With 3 houses, El Cerro was able to accommodate all 20 of us. We were all able to have our privacy but also were able to congregate at any of the 3 places. We especially used the Main house with its large kitchen and gathering areas. We were also able to do our day after wedding pig roast at the Pool House with all of our 50 guests. I would recommend to rent at least 1 golf cart to travel between houses and then you can also use it to go around the island. The walk isn't bad between the houses but can be a lot when doing it multiple times a day. El Cerro provides all towels and linens along with beach chairs, beach towels, coolers and there was even some sunscreen in the cabinets. It pretty much has everything you need. The location is great. It is right above the Malecon and the Green Store is at the bottom of the street. So if you had to, you can walk to get necessities, to the beach, and to the restaurants and bars.
El Cerro is an absolutely amazing property. The lodging is terrific, the amenities are great, and the view is phenomenal. I'm just sad that you have to rent the whole property and not just one of the houses so we can stay there every time we get to the island. I would sit on one of the verandas of the Main House or Rock House to enjoy the breeze and look at the view all day...every day...wishful thinking.

A Real Paradise

The Best Wedding Venue
We did a Wednesday to Wednesday rental and had my son's wedding on Saturday. Our guests stayed in all three houses, we had food catered, a wedding coordinator hired and this venue was absolutely beautiful. The houses were very comfortable, the pool and pool deck were spacious with awesome views, the walk and run to town is convenient, more beaches than we could visit and there were many adventure excursions to enjoy. Don't miss bio bay and a snorkeling tour to Culebra. The local restaurants had great food and service..................we would recommend this as a vacation retreat, a wedding venue or for a relaxing getaway. Christian and Kaytie were very helpful but scarce enough for us to feel that we had all the privacy we needed. This vacation destination thrilled travelers of all ages and most importantly the bride was very pleased.

Best of Vieques for a Large Family Vacation
We flew into San Juan and used Luquillo Taxi & Tours to shuttle our large group from the airport to the Fajardo Ferry terminal to catch the ferry to Vieques. The caretakers (Christian and Kaytie) had made arrangements to get us from the ferry terminal on Vieques to the property. Christian was there with his truck to load all the luggage and take some of our crew and he arranged a taxi minivan to shuttle the rest of us. When we entered the property, the taxi driver said that we were going to be staying in paradise as this is one of the nicest properties on the island.
His words proved true . . . We had one of the best vacations ever for our family during the week on this property.
Here's what we feel really made this a wonderful experience:
* Christian, Kaytie (and little Noah) were so helpful and accommodating!!!
* This property is ideal for seeing Vieques Island:
It is located on a hill overlooking Esperanza and Esperanza bay. The views and sunsets are breathtaking (especially from the top floor of the Rock House). What can be better than to be in the pool or working in the kitchen or sitting on the veranda and look out to views of the bay and boats and beauty.
Great breezes for comfort and enjoyment
3 separate houses to provide ample group and individual space
This location is literally minutes from the best beaches on the island. This is a big deal as around the island, access to restrooms is very limited (Sun Bay is really the only beach with restrooms). However, because of the location of this property, you can hit the beach in the morning and go back to the property to use the restrooms and rest before heading out for more fun.
* We rented two jeeps from the property. They were a great deal and super convenient!!
* The Property has beach chairs and an umbrella and beach towels. We used the beach chairs everywhere.
* The property has ice chests and insulated bags for packing a lunch for the beach. Again, these were invaluable!!
* Enjoyed exploring the property and all its fruit trees and even picked and ate fresh mangoes off two trees.
* The property is private and gated for added security.
* There is a washer and dryer at each house.
* TV and wifi at each house.
* In the late afternoon the pool begins to become shaded and is fantastic. It is fun to sit quietly under the pool pavilion and watch the egrets and birds come up and drink out of the pool.
A dream property on a dream island for a dream family vacation!!

Gal’s Pal’s Live it well Retreat/vacation to the Island of Vieques, PR; on October 24 – 31, 2015 was absolutely gorgeous, the El Cerro Ranch is magnificent, we rented all three houses, and each house was flawless and very tasteful and well-thought-out.
The view from each house was picturesque plus the scenery added a wonderful charm as we marveled in awe at the awesome sights and you could live there forever; just like Christian and Kaytie.

My husband and I recently got married in Vieques, and stayed at El Cerro for a week with our family and friends. The property is absolutely gorgeous- we stayed in the second floor of the Rock House, where we could wake up each morning and step outside onto our own private veranda overlooking the Caribbean. Each of the three houses had plenty of space and well stocked kitchens, so all 18 of us fit comfortably. The houses are a bit spread out (it takes a few minutes to walk from one to other), which also provided a degree of privacy. The caretakers, Christian and Katie, were very accommodating without being intrusive- they let us ship items to the property beforehand, helped drive us and our families to and from the airport, and even brought us freshly baked cookies while we were in the pool one afternoon. The property is within walking distance of several great restaurants in downtown Esperanza, as well. Our entire wedding party loved their rooms, and Vieques in general. We will definitely be back!

We rented all three houses in the El Cerro complex for our family of 14. It could not have been more perfect for our group. Plenty of space when we were together and plenty of space when we needed it to be apart! Christian was very helpful getting us from the airport and responded very quickly to all our questions.
The houses are all very comfortable and well-built with top-of-the-line appliances and finishes. Views are amazing from all three houses and the gorgeous breezes never stopped.
Beautiful beaches within minutes. Well-stocked convenience store just down the road. Great restaurants in Esperanza and inland toward Isabel.
We all had a very hard time packing up and leaving at the end of the week. Highly recommend this property, and can't wait to go again.

Our family vacation with 17 people was amazing to say the least. From helping with picking us up at the airport to being there right away when we had questions. Christian, Katie, and Noah helped make our vacation relaxing and care free. The houses were all beautiful, clean, and very well kept. The view overlooking Esperanza was breathe taking. The pictures on the internet do not do this amazing place justice. We are already planning to bring our kids and some other family members back. If you are looking for a place to stay, look no more. You won't regret it! Thanks to Christian and his family for taking such good care of us.

I really can't say enough great things about this wonderful property!!! We recently enjoyed a 7 day stay at this beautiful property with 14 of our closest family and friends--including our children. The 3 separate houses worked great for the extended family--each enjoying their own bedroom and bathroom. My immediate family stayed in the main house and we really enjoyed the spectacular view of Esperanza harbor every morning as we sat on the covered entryway to our house drinking coffee and enjoying the property dog "Ladybug"!! Evenings we all got together to play games and enjoy stories of the days activities spent throughout the island--either at the beautiful beaches, or exploring the 2 towns.
All 3 houses have great appliances and furnishings throughout. The beds were exceptionally comfortable--not a bad nights sleep was had by any of us. Extra bedding and towels were provided too. The houses were airy and spacious while feeling very homey. The pool was large and had plenty of room for all 14, including towels for all. Also a plus was the washer/dryer provided in each home. It was very nice to be able to have clean clothes and towels throughout the week. You really had everything provided that you would need for meals including plenty of dishes, silverware, pots/pans and bowls. We enjoyed wonderful meals there that we prepared on the outdoor grills that were supplied for our use.
Caretakers Christian and Katie were also wonderful and always available for a question, ride or to fix a minor problem. We really did not need their services because the property is so well maintained!! They were invaluable for providing information about the island and where to eat, shop and explore.
If you should choose to rent this property, you definitely will NOT be disappointed!! The owners too were very accommodating with us and our requests. They were very easy to work with also.
We love this property and the island so much that we are returning next year for an extended stay. We can't wait!!!

We just returned from a wonderful week at El Cerro and loved everything about it! This was our second year to visit vieques and we brought our children this time. There were 14 of us altogether and the three houses on the property worked perfectly for us! The views are breathtaking and the houses are all furnished nicely and have well equipped kitchens. After days at the beautiful beaches on the island we spent evenings at the pool or cooking out or playing cards. Christian and Katie were always available for transportation to the airport or to answer questions ,and even brought us the best little bananas and papayas from trees on the property! Christian also was quick to mail some clothes we forgot in one of the dryers to our home! We loved it so much we are talking about going back for 2 weeks next year!!

Our daughter & now son-in-law found this spacious property through their wedding planner. With 3 separate houses on this property we worked out living arrangements for both family/friend groups & for the bride & groom. None of us had ever been to Puerto Rico, much less Vieques Island previously. We made good use of the pool, the grills & the kitchen. It was a delight to wake up to such a beautiful view. The furnishings were comfortable as well as providing a nice decor. The verandas on the Main House were perfect. So many different tables, chairs & couches. Kitchen was huge & well furnished. Also appreciated up to date washer & dryer. Pool was gorgeous with shallow to deep allowing for actual swimming not just water play. Property has a security gated entrance with fencing surrounding the property. Can't say enough good things about how helpful Christian was for us. He made himself available for transportation to & from the Ferry & airports & frequently checked to see if we needed anything. He was available by cell phone for recomendations & directions of where to go for lunch, groceries, beaches, snorkeling. Katelyn even treated us with homebaked cookies. We needed rental vehicles for getting around the Island. The Rock House has 3 bedrooms with the King bedroom also having a sleeper for 2 people so it can accommodate 8 people. Pool House has one bedroom & a pullout couch so worked perfectly for the bridal couple. Main House has 4 bedrms each with its own bathroom. One room has twin beds. those in the Rock House said the water pressure was low. we were there for 5 days & would love to return some day to see more of the island or just relax on the property. This was our first VRBO stay & with a caretaker like Christian it couldn't have been better.

El Cerro is absolutely luxurious with the most beautiful views and unmatched privacy. Our group was quite large with children of all ages and the property seemed to fit everyones needs and have so much space it was amazing. Each of the houses has been designed as a comfortable livable space, none of them feel like "rentals", but rather like peoples homes with high quality linens, all the appliances needed for actual cooking, and even beach toys for the children. Christian, the caretaker, was immediately attentive to all our needs and questions regarding the property, including getting us fresh guavas, lemons, ad bananas from trees on the property. Prior to our arrival he even helped with all sorts of advice about arriving in Vieques and he assisted getting our large group from the airport and ferry out to El Cerro and made many suggestions of where to go on the island and what to absolutely not miss. El Cerro sits just above Esperanza, so it is an easy walk to local bars, restaurants, snorkel rentals, and a small well supplied store. Our large diverse group of friends from all over the US could not have been more happy to find El Cerro for a tropical winter getaway. For me, finding El Cerro was the best 40th birthday gift I could have imagined. Cannot wait to return.

Our 3rd year in Vieques with a group of 12 and this was the best stay yet. Christian and Katie took care of our odd ball request and even brought us cookies on Valentines day. Great views with a constant breeze.
