My husband and I spent a week at this lovely, peaceful Auke Bay cabin. The beautiful view from the sitting room window is of the forest with a glimpse of the bay. The kitchen is well equipped, the sitting room is relaxing and the bed was very comfortable. The owners were very welcoming. The location is great for those who want to be close to Juneau, but avoid the crowds. I would love to stay here again.

Magical setting , quiet and private with beautiful kitchen , cozy master bedroom, fabulous spa and calming view of Auke cove. We loved our stay and the host was so nice and easy to work with during our stay .

Excellent stay. Great property. The owners were friendly and welcoming. Visitor instructions were very clear. Fun and restful and a great place to have my sons over for dinner. Only one small pot, but we were able to borrow some so we could cook effectively. There was no laundry soap, so we called the property manager. She was not available, so we left a message and our number. We never got a return call. Other than that, the stay was pleasant and restful.

Awesome location and beautiful interior-could not ask for a more convenient and accommodating place to stay. Wish I could have stayed longer! The bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in at a rental.

This was our third stay in this rental, and we would rent it again in a heartbeat! It’s quiet and private and the property is lovely. There is plenty of hiking close by, it was close to the harbor for the boating activities we did, and it’s not too far to drive downtown for dinner out. If you like Indian food, try Spice! The best thing about staying here is that Theresa and her family are all so friendly and helpful. It’s been fun to get to know them over the years.

Convenient location for us. We had a rental car so we had no problems getting around. We prefer places where the masses are not so Auke Bay was perfect for us. Beautiful property, friendly hosts and all the conveniences we needed.

We enjoyed our visit to Juneau and the property location, away from the cruise ships and downtown, was perfect for us. The property manager gave us some good activity ideas and our week in Juneau was rewarding. The bedroom of the property was large and the bed was very comfortable. We had peek-a-boo views of a little cove below us. The spa mentioned is probably a dream for most people; however it was difficult for us to get in and out of as the side of the tub was high and difficult to negotiate for us. That said, we didn't realize there was a folded step stool to use for this purpose. The shower was great though once we got in there.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Juneau. We were here for the Ironman race and we definitely couldn’t have had a better location for that as we were 8min from transition, but we would come back and stay here for all future trips to Juneau as well due to its centralized location to all the fun adventures we were looking for. The house had everything we needed for an amazing stay: a well stocked kitchen for making our own meals, laundry facilities, comfy King bed, bear spray for hiking, garage to store bulky items (like bike case) drawers for unpacking, and a shower/sauna/jacuzzi my husband couldn’t stop talking about. Theresa was super helpful with adventure suggestions and I loved hearing about (and tasting) her labor of love dried seaweed. Check in and check out and all communication in general was great. If we could give more than 5 stars we would. Can’t wait to come back!

If you're looking for a quiet, spacious, beautiful place to call home while visiting Juneau, this is it! The apartment was ideal for taking in Juneau's natural wonders, minutes from trails and practically waterfront. Communication was simple and everything was as described.

Wow!! I do not think anything about our visit could have been better! Teresa was a lovely host and suggested many great restaurants and things to do. The shower/tub was delightful! The view was unbeatable. Remember to ask about the delicious seaweed snacks!

Everything was wonderful. From the very friendly and helpful owners, the excellent location, and the outstanding accommodation. We highly recommend this property and hope we have the opportunity to return.

It is a beautiful property although you definitely need a car. We will be returning!!!

Teresa and Tom's cabin is an exceptional find, I would definitely recommend it! Very close to multiple hikes, and only minutes from grocery stores/gas stations/breweries/restaurants. If you're weary of stairs beware, and make sure you've got a vehicle that can make it up a steep slope! It would also be much comfier with just 2 people (our party included my fiance and his parents), as there is *no* privacy barrier between the bedroom and living room (a curtain rod on each door would be an easy fix for this issue!). Teresa was an excellent hostess-- very communicative, kind, and flexible. She and her family helped make our vacation a special one.

We enjoyed our stay on Shady Lane. The Apt. was just perfect for us. Theresa was very easy to work with and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

We were in Juneau for a Family celebration of my mother’s 90th birthday! This Hillside Haven is located in a lovely quiet setting! The owners were very welcoming and assisted us as needed. The owners were working on a home project to their personal home which is also located on the property. You would never have known that there was a remodel going on as the owners were respectful of our schedules, not starting too early or working too late. We plan to stay here again the next time we are in Juneau! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This was the second time my husband and I stayed at this property. We love the privacy and location, not too far out from town but not in the more noisy tourist area. Theresa and Tommy are friendly and helpful, the unit is clean and has a well stocked kitchen. My husband is most in love with the spa shower-it is a real treat after a day outdoors! The bed is super comfortable too.

After a 5 night stay, my wife and I were so happy we chose this lodging. The property is superbly maintained, super quiet, and so relaxing and peaceful. Great hosts! Thank you for maintaining such an amazing guest apartment!!

Beautiful natural peaceful quiet setting. Wonderful to come back to after a day full of activities. Perfect size for two to three people. We had a private bedroom and our daughter slept on the futon in the living room. All the amenities you could ask for. Comfortable bed, babbling Brook, places to sit outside and so quiet at night. Definitely a five star stay. Thanks so much. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Juneau.

Our stay here was great, and we’d absolutely stay here again! We had everything we needed and it felt just like home for us. The host is incredibly welcoming and provided a wealth of information on the area that made our stay that much better. We loved the location (about 20 minutes from downtown Juneau and right by the ferry terminal) since it was super easy to explore anywhere around the area. Also, the shower is the coolest thing ever!

SO GLAD we decided to stay here instead of a hotel downtown. A beautiful, private suite with everything you could ask for. Plus the friendly host gave us several tips on places to see and eat. When we come back to Juneau, this is where we want to stay!!

Very clean, comfortable and a great location.

Great location between the city and the wilderness...just minutes to the glacier! The view is nice/relaxing but limited by trees and there is not a lot of outdoor cooking/living space. But, we were not a the house that much anyway (and there is a beautiful picnic areas just down the road). Very quiet and peaceful property with a really nice host family! They were out of town (out on their boat) a lot during our stay, but it was enjoyable getting to meet them on a brief stop at home. They are starting a home improvement project/addition soon...timber and equipment in the drive in preparation of the project. The drive is very steep, but not an issue with our AWD rental. We did not happen to see any wildlife at the house, but our visit to Juneau did result in seeing 15 bears and countless whales! What a week! We would highly recommend this property, especially for couples looking to cook/eat a few meals at home during their stay! The best sleep I've had in years! And, the landscaping is beautiful! By the way, you can easily walk to the Ferry Terminal and the shower is fantastic (as long as you do not have any limitations that would keep you from using the step stool to get in and out)! The kids enjoyed hiking in the national park behind their property and walking down to the beach just down the road. It was quiet, clean, and relaxing! It was great being able to do laundry!

Hillside Haven and the Abbas family were perfect hosts, and the guest apartment they built was an ideal location for celebrating our 35th anniversary to escape the Texas summer heat for the stunning beauty of Juneau. The view from the living room and breakfast area was an inlet of the bay, where we could watch boats, gulls and the tide. Another window gave us a stunning view of the forest. There are some natural trails and creeks running through their property, which backs up to the Tongass National Forest. Theresa’s hospitality was superb, and when she and Tommy went fishing one morning and caught a huge halibut, they shared the meat with us for that evening’s dinner. Theresa also hand-gathers seaweed from islands in the vicinity, and makes seasonings and snacks from it. I bought some to take home, it was absolutely delicious (and very nutritious). The apartment is beautifully-appointed with nice furnishings and luxurious bedding and towels. The rainforest shower already has us making plans for remodeling our bathroom at home!
