Grande maison de montagne, rénovée par un constructeur de maisons sur mesure, boiseries, armoires et bains carrelés. Ce 4 BR 3. 5 maison de bain est idéal pour les grandes réunions de famille.
Le sous-sol comprend un garage pour 2 voitures et une salle chauffée pour le ski, le vélo et le stockage du matériel de pêche. Le niveau principal dispose d'un hall d'accueil de 2 étages avec des poutres apparentes, des boiseries étincelantes, un tapis en peau d'ours authentique sur le mur et une grande fenêtre qui inonde la maison avec la lumière du matin. Le salon a des murs en rondins apparents, des meubles en rondins surdimensionnés et un poêle à bois pour compléter le système central de chauffage et d'air. La cuisine gastronomique a de nouveaux appareils en acier inoxydable, des armoires personnalisées, des dessus en granit et dosseret de tuiles et une vue dégagée sur la salle à manger. Property is dated and furniture is uncomfortable, however doable. Extra room with pool table (broken rails, pool cues tips are destroyed), has 2 beds but no bathroom. The sitting area was covered with bird droppings that were from an old nest, so it seems no one attends to that area.
Inside the main house it is roomy and plenty of seating. Dining room a little crowded with a buffet. Stairs covered in dust on the edges outside the rails. We had to move a couch to get a toy the baby dropped and it was dusty. Food inside the cushions of the chairs.
Worst part was the air conditioning - 3 units, and only the downstairs unit cools. My husband and son worked on the units for upstairs and found them to have 2 ft of ice surrounding the coils and all filters were caked in dust. We kept communications with the owner continuously, her story was the units were just serviced a few weeks previously. She could not get anyone out to check on the units during our 10 days stay. I was not very happy, napping little children in rooms over 80 degrees.
The location is wonderful, the host kept communications, however I did feel she was just saying things to keep us happy.
I am not a picky person, we travel the world and encounter issues, this is the first time ever, that the situation was not corrected before we left.
Game room is in a basement with bare concrete, air hockey game has a log to balance the broken leg. This place needs some attention.

The process seems a bit too complicated as the host sends you a bunch of PDFs to read and there’s way too many rules for check out given that you pay a cleaning fee. Talking about the cleaning fee, the property was very dusty everywhere so we had to clean ourselves the bedrooms and the mirrors because you couldn’t see of how dusty it was so a bit unfair that they charge a cleaning fee but the property is not clean and you have to leave the property spotless. There wasn’t a pool table as advertised in the photos and they do not provide basic toiletries so for us staying just 3 nights it was not the best scenario having to buy bottles of everything. There are signs everywhere to not take the soaps from the home, seems a bit much to have that everywhere and in the PDFs they send as well. And even through message I was reminded to not take the soaps. A little excessive in my opinion. A sponge is not provided so I would recommend to just use the dishwasher. Finally, the home is nicer than in the photos, still wouldn’t consider it a cabin, more like a regular house. Decent stay, not the best customer service and too many rules and things for something that is supposed to be a vacation and a getaway.

Beautiful home. Great location.
Home is on a steep hill. Driveway up is paved but the top landing is gravel. So cautious maneuvering is required with a large bike. We had six, and they all fit in the garage...with caution.

The Sugar Plum Cabin is a great vacation home. There is plenty of room, great amenities and the location is truly beautiful. This was our third stay and the owners have been very accommodating.

Our longtime friend group of about 12 guys had a phenomenal trout fishing weekend staying at Sugar Plum Cabin and fishing in Cherokee. It was very clean and extremely well kept. Our group utilized all the bedrooms, including the two in the pool table room disconnected from the main cabin. We took full advantage of the pool table, foosball table, and air hockey table (good times!). It was a cool weekend and the heat worked great, including the heat in the pool table room. Parking is marginally limited, but our group fit 8 large vehicles in the driveway (including two in the garage spaces below the cabin). Communication with the hosts, Kim and Henry, was straight forward and very easy. They even accommodated an early checkin request (much appreciated!). I can’t speak highly enough of the cabin, the location, the hosts, and general rental experience. This is a great cabin for a large (or small) group! It really is a beautiful cabin; photos don’t do it justice. Not to mention Maggie Valley is gorgeous.

Overall it is a big, nice, relaxing home. Plenty of room for you to sleep and several areas for hanging out with friends. If you plan on cooking, the kitchen is small with little storage. I’m not sure if we were the first renters of the season/year, but some minor cleaning and preparation could have been done by housekeeping.

It was very convenient that the cabin was located at a close distance to the ski resort since the goal of our trip was skiing. 15 people could comfortably sleep and use 3.5 bathrooms. We are planning to come back in the future.

There were 5 of us, my son 24 and three friends and myself all in our 50’s. All men so hopefully we left the place decent.
Nice place for motorcyclist plenty of garage room plenty of sleeping room.
Furniture was a little tired but not an issue at all.
Front porch was fantastic.
Elk every day on schedule after dinner, we counted 11 one day with 3 bulls scrapping for territory.

We had the most fun with all of our family together. The house was awesome and there was plenty to do even in down time. My husband enjoyed reading on the front porch daily and the pool table room off of the house was a big hit. Thank you so much for allowing our family to enjoy your home and spend quality time together. We loved it!!!
