the whole property was beautiful, inside and out. The house where they made breakfast was amazing and the little bar area was fantastic

Breakfast was very good and more than enough. Coffee was always available. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The conveniences that they had in the house made it possible so that we did not have to go out at night.

Although a room was more than expected we were on the third floor a bit of a hike.

Each day a made to order breakfast was offered. BTW, the corned beef hash was exceptional! Clean and recent renovations made this a beautiful property that is family run. We will be back.

Owner's dogs allowed to roam breakfast area. Although very adorable and well behaved, I would have preferred them to not be around food areas. Just my personal preference. May be a put off for folks with pet allergies.

Everything was wonderful!

The rooms were so tastefully decorated, as well as the lounge and bar area. You will never meet a friendlier host, so genuine and accommodating. The property is adorable and very close to town. Breakfast in the morning is so tasty and fresh, not your run of the mill hotel breakfast. You can tell great care and thought was put into the details here, and it definitely makes the an enjoyable, memorable stay.

The hot water never got really hot, but I love my shower excessively hot. The rooms are not super sound proof, you can hear muffled conversations and footsteps over head. It is an old renovated building, so some of that is to be expected.

The Barnstead Inn is a marvelous place to stay! The property is well kept, clean and has nice areas for people to gather and enjoy a drink, breakfast or just relax. it was probably the nicest place we stayed during our week in Vermont. the staff is friendly and works hard to create an wonderful experience. property is close to downtown and walkable distance. We discovered many of the restaurants closed Monday-Wednesday so plan accordingly. we were disappointed the Hildene House was closed on the days we were there.

one night they had a chef come to the property to serve dinner. the only complaint I had was I thought meal was a bit overpriced for what we got. but hey… we’re on vacation.

Don't even know where to begin, everything about this stay was perfect! Even with the inn being fully booked, the owners were always around and available to help with any needs/questions. They really care about their guests, and you feel like family when you stay with them. The rooms at Barnstead are gorgeous, newly remodeled and very clean. Good AC which is important for hot summer days. The property is beautiful and has a few different sitting areas to relax at. Especially loved sitting at the fire pit with coffee in the mornings and a drink from the bar at night. Pool is clean and refreshing, the property is well taken care of. Barnstead is close enough to town to walk to some of the nearby shops, but is also a short drive away from hiking trails and more "off the beaten track" areas. Will definitely have to go back to my new favorite place!

Cozy and spacious rooms walking distance to the village and close to several ski resorts. The owner and staff were very welcoming and kind. Amazing home made breakfast included. Nice fire pit to enjoy your drinks.

WiFi connection was not strong. One of the rooms we stayed in needed renovation. Bar closed at 9pm. No room service. Mattress was on the stiff side. But overall charming place and would return again.

Stylish interior design. Staffs are friendly and my favorite staff Lucky works very hard from morning to nigh😉 Near to Stratton ski resort, nice location
