We had a great time! The property is located perfectly and has everything we needed.

It was wonderful. But the best part was the view, the walks on the beach, watching whales jump while sitting on the deck, seeing turtles while going for walks on the beach and going to sleep listening to the waves at night. I love the North Shore so the location was perfect. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

This home was a real treat for our first trip to Hawaii. We are so glad we chose to stay on the more laid back North Shore. If you are worried about renting this home vs. staying in a big hotel, don't be, you won't regret it. The home had everything we needed to enjoy the area. Nearly private beach, with the occasional turtle sun bathing with you. Very large home with a million dollar view, AC in the bedrooms, great selection of books to read, all of the beach gear you could ever need. It was remarkably easy to get to all parts of the Island with our rental car. We will be sure to try and stay here again in the future.

This house was in the perfect location for us. We wanted a slower pace than Waikiki and we found it here. The house in Waialua was in a quiet neighborhood and just a short bike ride to the fun town of Haleiwa. Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay (for rock jumping and swimming), diving with sharks, and ziplining at Climbworks are just a few things within a 15 minute drive on beautiful back roads. The house is open and comfortable and the kitchen well appointed for our group of six. The beds were comfortable and the in bedroom AC units worked well. There were plenty of amenities including kayaks, beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, snorkel gear, and even various pairs of water shoes. We had a great week on the island and would consider renting this home again.

We had a wonderful stay for 10 days at this beachfront property. We were not knowledgeable about Oahu at the time we booked this property, so we were a bit nervous about whether we knew what we were doing. That ultimately didn't matter because the property manager (Jamie) did an awesome job having everything ready, and she is extremely easy to get in touch with as needed during the stay (we didn't really have much of a need to though). House was beautiful. House was very clean. We were able to travel the entire island during our stay, and we feel comfortable that we chose one of the very best houses to stay in. Very comfortable for a family of 5 (or more). The AC worked awesome in the bedrooms at night. Anyone considering staying at a home (as opposed to a resort) should feel confident this is a top notch choice. Beach was awesome. The hot tub is extremely well maintained and clean (we used it every day). Short distance to lots of restaurants and a great bakery in the morning. Awesome location to access all the north shore beaches. Easy to get to every place on the island. If you have any concerns about renting a home vs staying at a hotel, don't worry... Jamie will take care of everything. She is extremely professional and responsive. We have amazing memories and wonderful pictures that will last the rest of our lives. My kids (12, 14 and 16) had an awesome trip. The house offered them some privacy when they wanted it (as compared to a resort/hotel). We hope to get back in the future!!

We recently spent a week staying at Jamie's property and it was so much better than we expected. The area was nice and quiet, steps from the beach. The weather wasn't the best during our stay, a little windy, but we watched some amazing sunsets from the balcony. The house was clean and well furnished. It was much bigger than we expected. The photos didn't do the place justice. We had 6 adults staying. The bedrooms were massive and two of them had ensuites. It was really nice to have a few drinks in the spa. The neighbourhood also felt very safe and was perfect distance to the local town. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Writing this review 2 years later (sorry), but was back on North Shore recently at an "okay" place, but not as great as this house was. The diff motivated me to finally write, even if briefly. If I could retire at this house, I would be lucky.

There were six of us, three couples and the house is very spacious. We all had our own bathroom, and the rooms are far apart. The first thing is the view, you walk in and it's all glass with ocean in front of you. The lanai was our favorite spot for enjoying coffee in the morning and barbequeing at night. May favorite was the outdoor shower under the Plumeria tree. I never used the indoor shower! Lots of beach chairs, coolers, boogie boards, etc. Three kayaks with life jackets. We kayaked every morning right in front of the house, there is a river nearby to go up. The North Shore has some of the best beaches in the world, with surf and paddle board lessons in town. Great dining all over the island and in the town nearby. At night we sat out on the beach at looked at the stars. We can't wait to return. This house had everything we wanted and it's gated so it feels very private. If we had any questions Jamie the manager always got right back to us.

I have rented many vacation houses over the years and I know that you take a big risk that the actuals won't measure up to the online digitals. At Waialua Retreat, we were delighted to find that the house was better than the descriptions on the internet. We spent Christmas and New Year's at the house - my two sons, their wives and my first grandchild of 2 months. This meant that Nana stayed home babysitting while the others went off on adventures - too many to name across the North Shore and down to Honolulu. Staying back at the house was a joy - looking out at the ocean and all down the North Shore almost to Pipeline or a walk on the long sand beach 12 steps from the back lanai and hot tub. The house is laid out very practically and is bright and inviting. In an era when you can barely get a set of false teeth through airport security, the house is fully equipped with lots of extra little things like flour, sugar, spices, soaps, paper products, flowers, etc. that make it more like a home than a house. The local market is a few minutes away and the town of Haleiwa has everything you need as long as you do it early in the morning before the crowds of tourists arrive. If you want shopping and razmataz, go to Waikiki. If you want R&R and the true wild beauty of Hawaii, go to Waialua.

We stayed at the house over Thanksgiving holiday. The house was beautiful, well provisioned, nicely furnished, everything there you would want. Lots of great beach stuff -- towels, chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear -- all nice. Great kayaks with good paddles. House is right on the beach so you can hear the water at night and walk right out your door to the sand. Nice deck with good as grill and outdoor dinner table. Jamie, the manager, was nice and helpful. All in all, very good experience.

We spent 11 days / 12 nights at the Wailua Retreat August 11 through 22. Overall, the property was very well maintained, very clean and had almost everything one would want for a beach-based vacation. The location has its pros and cons. For pros, you are right on the beach, which was never busy, in fact deserted on occasion, and the views are just beautiful; you get both sunrise and sunset, each of which is idyllic. You are very close to Haleiwa, Wailua and, essentially deserted beaches, such as Mokuleia some 4 miles to the West. Waimea and Sunset are just up the road toward Turtle Bay, so, overall 5/5 for proximity. For cons, the beach is OK, the sand is a little harder to walk on than, say, Kailua / Lanikai, and you can't really swim directly out front without water shoes as the coral is right underfoot about 5-10 feet from the edge. If you wander 100 yards in either direction, there is a bit more swim-able beach. The view from the Lanai is great, although the hedges in front of the house takes some of the view of the beach away, which would have been nice to keep an eye on our son. The house itself is beautiful and very peaceful; the A/C worked very well at night in the bedrooms and the breeze from the prevailing winds blew through the main areas as well as the lanai. The hot tub downstairs was great, we used it 1-2 times per day, depending on where we were. We mostly ate at the house, using the trucks for dinner (best shrimp = Mackey's; best Thai = Opal) or BBQ-ing on the lanai. It was nice to have a kayak, although it did take on water (the stoppers seemed to be missing), so we didn't use it much after the first few days. Everything else was in working order; we did have the gas go empty on the driers, but that was fixed promptly by Jamie who manages the property (thanks Jamie!!), no other issues. Plenty of kitchen utensils, spices, etc, although maybe a little too much stuff left by others. Although this will seem very trivial, we would recommend that the windows be cleaned since they are so dominant in the house and the view is so striking. Lastly, the house did smell musty when we first got there, but that dissipated quickly after all the windows were opened. We saw many turtles (if you want to see more go North to Papailoa Beach [aka LOST beach], not Turtle Beach which is crowded). Overall, we had a beautiful, peaceful stay at the house and would most certainly recommend to others
