Womens bathrooms out of order due to flooding, my teenage daughter and I were advised to use the gents bathrooms. This was not advised prior to, or at check in. Gents bathrooms only had 1 working shower and the toilets were in a disgraceful condition. A disturbing situation for both of us. There was also non-stop noise most of the night. Mechanical, electrical and inconsiderate guests created constant noise and we got no sleep.

The staff were super friendly. It was a Sunday night stay and things were quiet - I felt like we had the whole place to ourselves!

The room was small with a single bed - but as described. The bed was comfortable and room was quiet.

I thought the staff were very friendly and they did their best to help me. They were very informative.

Some of the facilities were a little substandard - for example, I asked to change my room because the air conditioner was dangerous because it was dripping with water. During one of the nights, there were people playing music loudly late at night. There could have been cutlery and crockery in the common room.

The sheets were clean.

No window at all and smoke from other guests filtered into the room. Very noisy guests, they appeared to be permanent, continuing well into the night and beginning before 6 in the morning.

Location

It hasn’t had a cent spent on it since 1968. Noisy from bar until about 3am but the cool room compressors kept going until about 6am. Hot water in shower was very patchy.

Not much

The owners of the hotel have put their available resources into refurbishing the downstairs bar & restaurant areas but have sadly neglected the accomodation side of the business. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water and a good pressure but the twin room had curls of paint peeling off the wall in one place, a hole in the wall the size of a dinner plate and a missing cupboard door. What was worse, the room had an all pervading smell of stale cigarette smoke, which took the air conditioner most of the night to clear. When I mentioned the hole in the wall to the manager, she replied…”Oh yes! That has been there for al long time!”😳

Great dinner with excellent friendly staff, great food and drink, clean room, ideal location, slept well.

Rooms could use an update and makeover particularly to satisfy any spouses. Especially with simple things like paint, this would be an absolutely first choice for any business traveller or tourist in the town. Even so I would certainly stay again.
