Lovely Cottage That Is Completely New With All The Luxuries You Would Want!
Ce charmant cottage, Golden Glen, est un joyau de détente et de calme dans un cadre parfait de sérénité. Il se situe à la lisière de 2200 acres de forêt domaniale de NY et de bois luxuriants. Le dos donne sur un ravin avec un ruisseau, avec une petite cascade. L'intérieur est de luxe avec un beau salon et une cuisine entièrement équipée, 2 chambres confortables joliment décorées et toutes les commodités de la maison. Le salon fait partie de la grande salle qui comprend la cuisine et la salle à manger. Il y a une grande cheminée en pierre au gaz pour des soirées agréables. Les pierres ont toutes été collectées dans le ruisseau et les bois environnants.
Les salles de bains sont spacieuses et disposent de douches carrelées. Ensuite, il y a les porches incroyables !! L'endroit préféré de tout le monde est le porche grillagé qui s'étend sur toute la longueur de l'arrière du chalet. Il est confortable et le cadre est complètement entouré par la nature. Il y a même un faucon qui a fait son nid au sommet d'un arbre près de la maison !! Elle est là depuis quelques années. Il y a une terrasse hors de la chambre à l'étage qui est un endroit idéal pour regarder les étoiles par une nuit chaude. La laveuse et la sécheuse complètent les efforts du propriétaire pour en faire une véritable maison loin de chez soi.
Golden Glen est à seulement 15 minutes de la pittoresque ville de ski d'Ellicottville, NY. La ville possède d'excellents restaurants et de petites boutiques et la station de ski Holiday Valley propose des activités toute l'année. Du ski et des activités d'hiver au golf d'été et à la tyrolienne pour les plus aventureux.

Bette was such a great host and allowed us to change our reservation due to a family situation. The cabin was classy and stylish but sooooo quiet and wirh nothing but nature around. The back porch was great for reading and the upstairs deck had the best stargazing. We loved and needed the getaway! Highly recommend!

The house is comfortable and inviting, even prettier than the pictures, and perfectly tucked away in a spot that felt secluded yet near Ellicottville et al. It was a wonderful week of relaxing on the screened in porch and soaking up the sun on the roof deck. Looking forward to returning!

It was so peaceful and relaxing at this cottage. We enjoyed star gazing from the roof top deck , and taking naps on the screened in porch . The cottage was very clean and completely rebuilt based on the before and after photos we saw at the cottage - very impressive. The towns of Cuba, Olean and Ellicottville were a quick drive away and fun to visit . Highly recommend.

I had to be in the Ellicotville area for work and we found this cute cabin to stay through VRBO. We couldn't have imagined how amazing this cabin would be. The communication with the owners was easy. Both Madeline and Bette were very helpful and polite. The view from the screened in porch into the state forest is so relaxing. The interior of the cabin is beautiful and about as relaxing as the porch. We couldn't decide whether to sit inside or outside. The location is close to town yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. My family and I thank you for letting us stay at your facility. Truly a slice of paradise.

This was a great place to stay with two adult couples. Two bedroom two bath means privacy for everyone. The location was great. Wish we had more time to spend outdoors hiking in the state park. I’d like to come back in the summer to sleep on the screened in porch and listen to the waterfalls.
Travel was made all that much easier because we were able to bring our furry friend.

We really enjoyed the beautiful house. While a bit chilly, we still bundled up to enjoy the beautiful back porch. The home was very clean and appropriately stocked. The host was incredibly responsive and we would love to stay again.

We stayed here for 2 nights to spend a weekend snowboarding at Holiday Valley. Perfect location close to Ellicotville and it was so nice to have a clean, warm, and peaceful spot to return to after being at the mountain. The house was adorable and surprisingly spacious! Very clearly a well-loved and taken care of home, it was bright and clean. Bette was a wonderful host! Would definitely love to stay here again in the future!

Oh gosh! We had so much fun. In our group, it was my wife and me, my brother and his wife, and my sister and her husband. Ages ranged from 50 to 70. The cottage was exactly as pictured. It was very clean and well decorated. We could appreciate the interior decor, including many older artifacts. The beds were comfortable, the dining table was perfect for our evening game sessions, the kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils we needed. Not everyone is an outdoor type, but a few of us are. We took a trip to Allegany State Park for a nice hike one day, a trip to the Seneca Casino, and one day we took a walk " around the block" which was actually about a 4 mile hike. Just a heads up, it seemed like that walk was uphill the entire way. I'm not sure if it was because we were there in the dead of winter, but the surroundings were so peaceful. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who enjoys the great outdoors.

Our family loved staying at Bette's place. She was super responsive and the cabin was incredibly comfortable. The gas fire place and screened in porch were highlights. It is close to Ellicottville and just yards from a park.

My Husband and I will definitely be back to this beautiful piece of Heaven! Bette is an amazing and caring person. She went above and beyond to make our stay one of the most memorable vacation. We absolutely loved the screened in porch and the top deck! We had family both weekends come and visit from Canada , and they were in awe about the cottage and the surroundings. We will always have beautiful memories of our trip and especially Bette who non stop works to please everyone! We’re looking forward to seeing her again! The cabin was very clean. Very nice with all the amenities we expected. It is on a quiet road and provides plenty of privacy. The back porch is great for quiet afternoons in the shade. Even though it was July, the temperatures during the day stayed in the 70s and there was usually a cool breeze.
Very close to the Allegheny National forest so we did lots of hiking and other outdoor activities.
Bette did a great job of preparing the cabin and helping us get checked in. No complaints.

The drive takes you to a secluded but populated area, the house is warm, inviting, and positively comforting. We had a great weekend stay, and enjoyed the neighboring towns. We could t wait to return to the house, if you are looking to relax this is one.

Just as beautiful as the first time. So peaceful and quiet. The kids loved making s’mores around the fire. Mom and Dad enjoyed having coffee on the screened in porch every morning. Bette is a gracious host and very easy to work with. Even on rainy days, there was high speed internet for the kids to stream their shows on. Will absolutely come back.

We chose Great Valley since it was an in between for our destinations. The check in was easy, our stay was uninterrupted and the creek was a favorite for my kids. Bette was even kind enough to let us check out late and enjoy the property just a bit longer. Even though we didn’t have cell service, the wifi was strong and we enjoyed being in the forest! If you love nature, this is the perfect home!

Although the weather was rough (no snow) the house was amazing! We enjoyed bundling up, sitting on the screened in porch listening to the creek. It was easy to get to the slopes or into town. We will definitely return.

We loved this property. Very clean, cozy and just as pictured. The property around the house was so nice. Being cold and snowy we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the screened in porch, but when we stuck our heads out, we could hear the lovely lull of the babbling creek right outside. It would be a wonderful place to spend some time out there during warmer months. Downtown was only about 10-15 minutes from the house. Plenty of shopping and restaurants to choose from. Our host, Bette, was wonderful to work with and easy to contact. I’m hoping to grab a couple sisters and rent there this summer. It was a great choice for us.

The renovations in this property are impressive - a beautiful mix of original, antiques, and modern amenities. It was more than we expected. The screen porch is amazing. The drive into Ellicottville is easy and being in the woods made it the best of both worlds.

The home is cozy - a wonderful location surrounded by woods. The boys loved exploring in the wooded area around home.
The fireplace is such a nice touch, there is a full washer/dryer, comfy beds and nice large bathrooms on each level. The top level has a wonderful roof top deck.
Would definitely visit/stay again if we come back to the area.

Beautifully appointed cottage with comfortable furnishings. Loved the fireplace and the screened porch! Peaceful quiet location - away from it all but less than a 15 min. drive to the great town of Ellicottville. We would definitely return!

If you want a place to just relax, this place is for you! We spent a lot of time on the screened in back porch with a view of the forest and sounds of the creek. We also hiked every day and went in town in the afternoon for food!

We enjoyed staying here! Very clean and easy check in. The back porch was the best! Calm serenity. We were surprised to find no A/C in the house- but apparently that is normal around these parts. The manager supplied fans. Also, the Dish satellite didn’t work - so we were only able to watch the DVD’s provided. But, that didn’t bother much with our plans- since we enjoyed playing board games and eating on the back porch.

Monarch butterfly welcomed us at the door
We loved our time at Golden Glen. We came to celebrate one of our birthdays as close to nature, good weather and peace and quiet as we could find. I don't know how the caretaker managed this but a monarch butterfly greeted us by the front door as we arrived, welcoming us into this oasis, and hung throughout our stay. Auspicious! It seemed like every time we turned around, we were surprised and delighted by the serenity of the cottage and surrounding forest. We cooked meals together, went on 2 hikes, explored the lovely Ellicottville town and relaxed in all of the outside spaces (especially the wide, screen back porch). We are grateful for the thoughtful touches of beauty and convenience of the cottage. A joyful birthday celebration indeed. With any luck, we will return soon!
