We had a wonderful experience staying at the Ranch! The home was meticulously clean, everything was neat and organized, and the home is plentifully stocked with everything you'll need for an amazing Outer Banks vacation! Boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach cruiser bikes for the family, a cornhole set, and an antique pinball machine in the bunk/game room - what more could you ask for! And, Mike, the owner, is an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Thanks for helping to make our Outer Banks 2022 family vacation a truly fantastic and memorable experience. We will definitely be back again, Mike! Thanks again!

Ranchi Relaxo was perfect for our family-6 plus a 1 year old. It was clean, SUPER ORGANIZED, and the bonus room downstairs was perfect for the young adult children. Mike was prompt and very easy to work with when I had questions, even checked on us (unfortunately I didn’t see the email until I got home as I took a break from it), The house was very convenient to all of our destinations-beach-aquarium, restaurants and more. Thank you ,Mike, for all of your help in making this a relaxing vacation!!

Rancho Relaxo is an excellent place to stay in Kill Devil Hills. The space easily fit our 2 families (4 adults 3 kids). The owner Mike was very responsive to any questions we had before and during the stay. The supplied beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, and other supplies were really nice to have. Overall a great experience.

Rancho Relaxo has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the OBX. Beautifully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and couches. A Hammock too! Spotlessly clean, great WiFi and Smart TV. But the real gem…the vintage pinball machine.

This house is located in a quiet neighborhood not far from the beach. The house itself had everything we needed and was a comfortable place to stay for the family. We will be back!

This was a great vacation home. Mike was extremely accommodating (answering questions before our arrival, last minute request to bring an additional dog...a puppy, and then when we had a car issue at check out time) - throughout the whole process from start to finish, he was respectful, timely responsive, helpful, and reasonable! The house, of course, was wonderful... we LOVED the bed sheets in the master bedroom! House was clean, well stocked, comfy - perfect. Outdoor shower was great too!

The house was great - very clean and all the basics were provided. There is a great little game room on the ground level; I found myself drawn to that room to play the retro games that are available. The public access to the beach is a 2 minute drive away and this is located in a great spot of the town. There are a ton of local places to visit, some of which are walking distance! The neighborhood is quiet and the people are friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet getaway, without all the hassle of a house on the beach.

We stayed at the Rancho Relaxo the week of July 13. My husband, 2 children (a 2 year old and a 6 year old) and my mother and father in law all had a wonderful time! Although the walk to the beach was a bit too far (with small kids and all of their stuff! :) ), there was plenty of public parking lots. The house was clean and the kitchen was more than adequately stocked! We love vacationing in OBX and would definitely consider staying at Rancho Relaxo again. Mike's communication with all of my questions was wonderful!

We stayed at Rancho Relaxo from 3/27/14 to 3/30/14 and the name matches how the house makes you feel, very relaxed. It is on the sound side and short ride to the beach.

My parents took my fiancee and I to the Ranch to celebrate our recent engagement. Couldn't have picked a better spot for her first trip to OBX. Other reviews were accurate. House was in great shape and had tons of space and everything we needed (even a Nintendo 64!). Everything was comfortable and clean. Being in such close proximity to the beach, sightseeing spots and plenty of food/drink options was nice as well. Mike was very easy to work with and very accommodating to get everything set up for the last minute trip. The damage deposit was also refunded immediately. Would definitely recommend.

I looked at a lot of places and found this was the best value. Here is a quick run down of what I liked:
>Booking process was quick and easy
>Owner was great to deal with and answered all of my questions
>No surprises, the house was as advertised and everything was clean and tidy.
>2-3 minute drive from the beach and there is plenty of free public parking available
>Central to just about anything and everything you could need/want including sites and activities for the family.
>There wasn't a single thing we needed in the kitchen that wasn't already provided.
>There were 4 of us and we found there was more than enough space to live comfortably for the week.
>Little things like bikes, boogie boards, beach chairs, corn hole, outdoor shower, etc. were an added convenience.
We had a great time in the Outer Banks, we enjoyed our stay at Rancho Relaxo and would recommend it to others.

Our first time visiting the outer banks, was a memorable family vacation.we found the Rancho to be centrally located and very home like.. We found everything we needed as the house was fully stocked. The beds and sofas were very comfortable. Plenty of beach chairs and boogie boards to use. We had the pleasure of meeting Mike and his son on our last day as he checked in to make sure all was well. The rental process was easy and we received our deposit as promised the following week. We would surely stay here again, preferably longer next time. Even better it was pet friendly. It is our first time visit to the Outer Banks and we are very happy with our stay at Rancho Relaxo
The house is fantastic! It is extremely well stocked, including everything we needed for cooking, baking, grilling, and all towels and linens. This made it very easy to settle right in and relax. Beds were so comfy.
The location of the house is great. You are a short drive to the restaurants, beaches, Wright Brothers Memorial, Jockey's Ridge state park-great beach for families with kids.
Jockey's Ridge – is a great spot for Kite Boarding.
Only one problem – one-week vacation is to Short. Next time I’ll stay 2 weeks.

Absolutely perfect set up in a ranch with all sorts of wonderful offerings and a good central location. For a first visit to the outer banks we could not have asked for a more accommodating and functional abode.

This past winter, decided we would spend our summer vacation somewhere where we could drive there and be on the beach the same day, and be able to take our dogs, and this vacation more than exceeded our expectations and I can't wait until next summer to go again! It definitely felt like a "home away from home" in that it all had of the modern conveniences we wanted to relax, but was so close and convenient to many attractions. We would take daily walks on the trails at the Nature Center down the street, walk the dogs the 4-5 blocks to the beach in the morning, or spend the evening walking to one of the restaurants located near-by. Although we would drive to the beach to spend the day with all of the stuff, we never had any issues finding a public parking area w/port-a-potty within blocks of the house.
The house was in great condition, and I was especially impressed with the note upon arrival apologizing for the grass being high due to a maintenance issue with the lawnmower ~ they even stopped by a day later to apologize in person and to make sure we didn't mind it being cut during our stay later that week.
The only recommendation I would make is that the beach equipment be checked later in the season. While there were plenty of chairs and boogie boards in usable condition, the umbrellas were not by any means. Had I know, would have brought one from home, but ended up having to buy 2 at the local beach store. Again, all things considered with how great our vacation was, just a recommendation.

"Rancho Relaxo" is certainly a clean, comfy, and relaxing place to stay while in the OBX! It was our first visit to the area, and this house is in such close proximity to everything you could need/want. A beautiful preserve a mile away, nearby aquarium, access to grocery stores, retailers, eateries, and reasonable souvenirs shops, etc. For a block comprised of rentals/residential homes, it was unbelievably quitet/peaceful! The home itself has a beautifully updated kitchen area. Great living room couches which are comfy and spacious! The owner is a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end also! Would highly recommend!

This is a nice rental where you can hang out with your pup and have enough room to play with your family. We loved the location (you can walk to a couple of campy souvenir shops and restaurants). We went as two families so we didn't walk to the beach (but you certainly could if you didn't have to bring QUITE so much that bringing kids entails). The drive was maybe 1/2 mile and never really a problem finding parking (despite going during "high" season). The outdoor shower (which has hot water too!) was convenient to get the "stick factor" off before coming inside. The house is equipped with plenty of chairs, umbrellas, floaties, games/puzzles and a very nice BBQ. The basement/laundry room looked nicely equipped for the teen set (since no one in our party was in that age group we didn't make use of the basement except for laundry). For the more media savvy it has a super nice TV (which we used to plug in our karaoke machine), and convenient WiFi. Just a cool place to hang with family and friends.
