Large 4 Bedroom 3 Bath home with a short walk To Sheridan Beach!
Notre maison de vacances à Sheridan Beach a été rénovée en août 2015. Nous avons installé une toute nouvelle cuisine avec des armoires en noyer, des comptoirs en quartz et un îlot en boucherie. La cuisine est ouverte sur le salon et la salle à manger, ce qui offre un bel espace ouvert pour que votre groupe se réunisse! Il y a une cafetière keurig en plus d'une cafetière à pot régulière.
La maison est une courte promenade de 0. 2 mile de la plage en utilisant le chemin de la plage jusqu'à Lake Shore Dr qui est proche de la maison. Les 2 chambres à l'étage sont immenses, avec de nombreuses possibilités de couchage dans chaque chambre. Il y a un petit balcon privé à côté de chaque chambre à l'étage. Il y a une grande terrasse dans la cour arrière avec un grill et une table à manger. La grande allée et le garage pour 2 voitures offrent toute la place dont vous aurez besoin pour le stationnement.
La maison est entièrement meublée et équipée de tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour une retraite ultime de la maison. Tous les draps et serviettes sont inclus. La cuisine est au niveau principal et est ouverte sur le salon et la salle à manger. Une grande salle familiale avec un canapé en coupe, TVHD 50 pouces, baby-foot, ping-pong, air hockey et billard (tables combo) est située au niveau inférieur. Le niveau inférieur a un curseur de sortie vers l'arrière-cour et la grande terrasse. Profitez de repas en plein air avec suffisamment de sièges pour tout le groupe. Il y a une zone de sable avec beaucoup de jouets, un ensemble de sacs et de nombreux autres jeux de plein air!

CHAMBRE 4 (chambre jaune): niveau inférieur - Petite chambre avec 1 lit queen et une commode.

The house is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the beach. The interior of the house would need some care though, with a few things that need to be cleaned (e.g. sofa) and others that need to be repaired (fussball, shower head). But overall we enjoyed the stay, with the exception below.
The A/C was not working during our stay. We communicated the problem to the host and, while we stayed for a couple of days more, he was not able to send anyone to take a look and fix the issue. Communication was very slow -- I also shared my mobile phone number asking to be called but it never happened. We then asked for a partial refund (the house was advertised with the A/C), and contacted Vrbo to assist us. After 3 weeks, still no answer about our request. I look forward for a positive resolution of the issue!

A large gathering place for our big family. The back deck has lots of seating for all. Great short walk to the beach with many beach chairs for us all to borrow.
Various little broken things found throughout the home. Furniture was old and not very clean. No toaster. No dishwasher soap. Many soaps topped off with water or none at all. Many towels for all. Had difficulty with the AC not working with many people in the house and long delays of communication from the host with limited support and no direction of how it would be fixed - thus no AC for half our stay. Opened the windows to allow for airflow yet many screens had holes in them or no screens at all with bugs getting inside. Could use some updates of furniture, towels, etc for the amount of groups coming in and out and for items indicated on the list to be found in the home. In all, we enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and appreciated the space for us all to gather.

Positive: easy and short access to beach; prompt response from manager; good size bedrooms; 1 full bath on each level.
Concerns: some basic standard cooking utensils are missing (no toaster, only 2 burners in grill are working; only 1 shelf in oven; sparce cooking utensils )

The location is perfect.
The house needs finished and cleaned.
The couches were both grossly dirty.
The basement room is not a bedroom.
The second floor was ok- nice shower, but duct tape on the toilet seat. Thread bare towels- dirty back deck.
Just doesn’t seem the house is done yet!

Cons:
Almost none of the doors fully worked. Knobs fell off, latches were lacking, knobs werent fully attatched to the door, etc.
Knives in the kitchen were all very dull
The couch and arm chair seemed dirty even after a 2nd cleaning
Wooden chair on balcony was shattered
All the chairs in the basement had holes on the seat and were not usable
The basement couch was old and worn down
Cracked toilet seat with a wonky knob
Owner only responded to some texts
The place is in desperate need of a deep, deep clean- not just cleaning what is immediately visable
Honestly, the whole place lacked pride. With some extra love it could be a great VRBO and I hope the owner takes these comments into consideration.

Very nice house. We had a fun family get-together. Plenty of space for cousins to play. Enjoyed walking to the beach, even though it was bit cold in November.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here for a women's getaway weekend. There were enough beds for everyone and the back deck is lovely. The house could use some updating and a few things to make it more convenient. For example, we assumed that there would be salt and pepper shakers, but there were none. The toilet seat on the upstairs bathroom has a crack which pinches when you sit down. The coffee maker had not been cleaned since the previous guests and there was coffee and grounds sitting in the filter.
However, these were minor inconveniences and in general, we enjoyed our stay. The walk to the beach is lovely and we got a couple of great sunsets.

Our family enjoyed how close the rental was to the beach. We also were there when the boat races were in town. It was amazing.
It was nice to have all the bedrooms to fit our family. The washer and dryer were wonderful especially with needing to wash bathroom towels. ( Need to have more towels in each bathroom and wash clothes)
Loved the gas stove for cooking. I was disappointed that there was a crockpot but no container for the inside to actually use it. Only 3 trash bags for the stay. Definitely needed more for our stay.
If we stayed here again I would know what I would need to bring. Towels, wash clothes, trash bags, paper towels, crockpot, etc.

The best part was having 3 bathrooms, one on each floor. The open plan living, dining, kitchen was very nice. The beach chairs were very useful. The host was very responsive and came right over to help us get the ac working.
It was a pity that the nice deck at the back has inconvenient access and is not connected with the open plan living, dining and kitchen. The lower level was partially finished and does not have a ping pong table or combo pool/air hockey/pool table per the description.

The location was good! Short walk on a path through the woods to lake shore drive and the lake. Elementary school very close with a large playground in back. A few issues at the house were the dishwasher was not working properly. Also the refrigerator door had to be very carefully closed or we were afraid it would break. We were not able to start the grill. And there was not a can opener. If those issues are addressed there would be not much to complain about.

Nice quiet neighborhood. Short walk to the beach. Plenty of room for 4 couples. Had a great weekend sitting around spending time with family. Met the host and his family ,nice family, as he had to stop in to take care of a couple of things. Enjoyable weekend.

Good dog-friendly rental
This home was clean and fairly well-appointed. The number of bedrooms [and sleeping accommodations] were great for a large family stay. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, and really appreciated the new air conditioner! The kitchen is very nice and for the most part had everything we needed to live there. It was also so nice to have three full bathrooms, given the number of people staying at the rental. Distance from beach was very doable and easily accessed. The beach was wonderful! The back deck was a wonderful addition, with more than adequate seating. We were so very appreciative of being able to have our dogs with us, and Colin was so helpful to allow this. It is not easy finding a pet-friendly lake rental, so we felt very grateful.
Some things to consider:
1. Adding an umbrella for the deck as it is in full sun, making it difficult to enjoy seating during a hot summer's day.
2. The front stairs and entrance is very aged, splintery, and the stairs did not feel totally stable. The wood is very dried and aged. The step up into the front door is very high. Maybe building a step to reduce the height when the stairs are replaced?
3. The steps in the back yard leading from the deck area to the lower area by the glass sliding doors are also in a condition that required focused attention to traverse up and down.
4. The exterior of the house appeared to be newly painted and it looked nice. Perhaps this is the beginning of the renovations? [Exterior and interior]. Older homes seem to get older and visibly used when they are in high use by so many people.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and experienced good communication with Colin. Thank you Colin!

Family Reunion
Great location. Family from 4 states. Walk out basement was great for our 16 year old dog who no longer likes stairs. Lots of activities in the area.

Good stay
The house is close to the beach and has plenty of parking. All of the beds were comfortable with no complaints from my picky family. Everything was very clean with the exception of a few dishes that were probably put away by the previous guests. We enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the deck. The garage is used as storage so not an option for being outside on a rainy day. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Steps and decks could be improved however my 83-year-old mother seem to manage. We would stay here again.

Great stay for daughter’s 18th birthday
Colin was very flexible allowing me and my daughter’s group of friends for her birthday. Other property owners were not interested even though I explained I would be there monitoring and ensuring they behaved. They loved going to the beach everyday and saw deer and other wildlife right down the block!

Nice place with a lot of sleeping areas
The place is slightly dated but was a great fit for our weekend shopping trip. Lots of parking as all our friends come from different areas. Conveniently located near the outlet mall, Lake Michigan and the casino. Our host provided great recommendations for dining.

Decent place, overpriced
The house served it’s purpose and was close to the beach, but we expected a little more for the price we paid. Some of the amenities weren’t accurate, water pressure and temp was inconsistent throughout house, dirty dishes found in cabinets, and some appliances weren’t available. Coffee maker was broken. Not a big deal since there was also a Keurig but we expected a crockpot and had planned to use it for meal prep. The only thing we could find was the outer heating shell. No insert or lid could be found. Also things were not organized in a way that was easy or functional. Again, it served its purpose but we would have like to see more for nearly $2000 for 3 nights.

Large home with space for everyone
This large home was perfect for our extended family getaway. There was plenty enough space for our group. The sand box in the back yard and large deck were a huge bonus for us. It is a short walk or drive to the beach. Collin answered any questions we had. There are a few items that need to be addressed and he is aware of those. But they had no affect on our stay. The neighbors are really nice and it is located in a beautiful and safe neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Home Layout for extended family.
Great place for multi family gathering. Bedrooms and baths on each floor allow for privacy and quiet for the little ones. A short walk to the beach or plenty of room for family games on the rainy days.

Multi-family getaway
We had a great time at this property! The location was superb! The walk to beach was doable for older kids, but not conducive to kids in wagons or strollers. However, there are beaches everywhere! There’s tons to do in Michigan City and in the surrounding areas- just be mindful of the time change between Michigan and Indiana.
There were a few things I contacted Collin about, but nothing that hindered our stay. He was very hospitable and responsive. The house was laid out perfectly for multiple families and everyone had their own bathroom. If we had the same sized group again, we would definitely stay here again!

It was just ok
Positives: proximity to the beach, backyard was beautiful, communication with the property manager was timely.
Negatives: This house needs some major tlc. Here are some examples of things that we noticed needing repairs or replacement-multiple holes in the walls, knobs to the stove to turn on 2 of the 4 burners were missing, pull string for ceiling fan in the bedroom with bunk beds did not work, vent cover upside down in master, knobs for bathroom drawer cabinets missing, blinds bent, shower head needs tightening, fan in one of the bathrooms makes a really loud noise, deck on the front of the house is pulling away from the house, stairs in the back of the house leading to deck need replacing, thin bath towels with holes in them, crib had broken board hanging down.
We booked this house for two nights despite noticing a couple other reviews that said some of the same things we ended up noticing, simply because it was the only house available to rent the nights we needed that was close to the beach. We hoped that enough time had passed, that the neccesary maintenance would be done. The decks both felt unsafe. We will not rent this house again in the future. I think it's fine for someone who doesn't have high standards but I expected nicer for the cost. The house is cute but it needs to be better maintained.
