The people were extremely kind! It was clean and the bed was comfy.
From the reviews and photos, we expected something totally different. They all were so enthousiastic!
This is more of a motel-vibe. On arrival we learned there was no food available at all, so another taxi drive to the restaurant the host recommended.
The taxi from and to airport, from and to restaurant (which is a must since there’s nothing else) we payed €75 for the taxi alone. We just trusted it and went with it, not sure what a normal price would be.
The people are kind, but the price is way of charts for what you get. We booked a room here for the bath and like mentioned in other reviews: the water is pretty brown and smelly. So we didn’t take a bath. No big deal, but everything summed up just was.. disappointing for the money we payed.
Anyway.. it did what we needed it to do: offer a clean, comfortable bed, but that’s it. If that’s what you’re looking for: perfect place, but bring some snacks.. ;)

from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was perfect.
we received a very warm welcome, the room was spacious & comfortable, the breakfast was excellent.
the property is very quiet with a beautiful pool in a garden full of birds, but still close to town.
everything was perfect

Hotel should have been upfront
Running water is brown . And they said it’s from the river .
We ended up buying tens of gallons of water to bathe in for our entire stay
Water issue
And water is life

Lovely garden area where the swimming pool is. Fire lit in the evening with free marshmallows to toast. Close to the airport
Stayed 1 night. Really friendly welcome upon arrival. Not so friendly on checking out. Felt like we became an inconvenience

Everything was absolutely fantastic. Management and staff were wonderful, helpful, friendly, professional, talented- and hotel was what I was looking for: very quiet, peaceful, no traffic noise, set in nature. This was my first trip to Africa, Botswana, Maun… decided to give myself a few days to adjust to time change before safari ‘proper’ started- but this hotel has ‘safari’ benefits: birds, animals in the river in front of my room. I took a helicopter to Tsodilo hills on one of the days. The rest of the time, I relaxed by the beautiful pool, watched birds, had lovely conversations with other guests and staff.
The hotel has a fantastic driver who finds you at the airport, takes you the restaurant of your choice for dinner (a short trip, and well worth it to be able to stay in this location). If your onward journey includes a safari itinerary, let them know you are staying here. They call Mack Air. Mack Air figures out who to get everyone to their camps the day before departures, then calls the hotel to tell you what time to be at the airport. The hotel arranges with the absolutely safe professional driver, who is there like magic to help you on the way to your next destination. No guesswork. You do pay a fee (very reasonable) for rides, and it is proper to tip the driver.
Full breakfast is beyond fantastic- everything is freshly baked with amazing ingredients and spices, so many options to choose from. You can have eggs, several types of fresh baked bread, cereals, muffins, fresh fruit…anything you want. This is a very special place. When planning your trip, you could give yourself several days, take day trips from hotel.
You can absolutely trust the management to look out for your best interests. I hope to see them again.
Everything was great!!! No problems or concerns No complaints.

Schöne große,sehr saubere Zimmer in guter Lage in Maun

Lovely and genuine african lodge with superb staff and lovely rooms looking over the river.
Options for the evening could have been better explained - especially the option to have a meal delivered. We were handed menus for the evening and chose one and went by cab.

Ruime kamers met leuk terras. Fantastisch ontbijt. Bijzonder vriendelijk personeel.
De kamer deed eerder koel aan (tegelvloer) en de Afrikaanse sfeer ontbrak een beetje.

Size of the room
Water to wash and shower is taken from the river. Brownish and smells. We didn’t shower or wash therefore. Just washing teeth with bottled water. You need a cab for everything. Avoid room 5 since there is the accumulation of the outside aircon.

Spacious bedroom with terrace overlooking the river. Excellent breakfast. Many birds in the garden. Very friendly and helpful owner.
I read about the water in the shower in below reviews, which is from the river. Probably that is the most eco-friendly solution, and it is fine. The smell is maybe more due to the pipes, but not a big issue.

A great place for a stopover. Lush surroundings with a beautiful view of the river from the room. Patrick was very knowledgeable and great at organising anything you wanted to do.
The breakfast was lovely with homemade breads and marmalade. We really the bona at night where you could take a drink from the honesty bar and enjoy the fire and the company.
It was the best WiFi we had in Botswana

Excellent guesthouse with the most helpful and friendly host and staff. Beautiful view from the patio of our huge room, of the garden and part of the delta waters. Delicious German type breakfast and coffee.
A shower in the bathroom would have been nice.

I would say this would be the number one choice for Maun, Patrick the owner was there to meet and greet us as we checked in, we were a bit dusty after the long drive from Divundu so he told us that the self serve honesty bar was open and to sit outside in the pretty shaded deck with a beer! He is a man who obviously has some amazing adventure stories to tell!
Our room was upstairs with a view to the slightly depleted river, big bifold doors opened up onto the large balcony so you could sit out and listen to the birds.
The room had a massive four poster mosquito netted bed and Patrick kindly put a camp bed in for our daughter instead of taking 2 rooms. The bed was very comfy and we all slept well.
Breakfast was a welcome departure from a cooked breakfast with the most amazing breads all baked by the lodge. A selection of cold meats, cheese fruits and yoghurt as well as cereals and juices (the litchi juice was great!) was enjoyed outside on the deck.
Patrick stored our suitcases as we intended to return for another night after the delta but when we got back to airport and plans changed he immediately arranged for our cases to be sent to the airport by taxi, at a stressful juncture of our holiday this was greatly appreciated.
Definitely would recommend staying here to family and friends!
Everything was great!

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at The Waterfront Guesthouse in Maun.
On arrival we were met by the owner Patrick who was the perfect host - nothing was too much trouble for him - he was helpful with local knowledge - even made extra effort with vegan options at breakfast - and personally made us a great cup of coffee!
The beautifully appointed rooms all had lovely views - we were surrounded by greenery and birds - and we enjoyed sitting around a warm boma fire in the evenings.
We really enjoyed both recommendations for dinner at Marc's Eatery and lunch at Okavango Craft Brewery - all round excellent service and will always remember our stay and chats with Patrick.

Location was great, breakfast was superb and Patrick was extremely helpful- anticipating dinner reservations for us, helping us map out our route in Moremi and answering all our questions!
The room was pretty basic for the price and could do with some updating - particularly the lighting as it was quite dark in the room

The evening around the fire and the magnificent breakfast. The owner/managers looked after us very well.
Looking for a place in the dark. A bigger, more prominent sign on the main road will do. The stairs. We are not young anymore.

The owner was so kind in assisting me with some vehicle trouble when I arrived at The Waterfront. He also recommended great restaurants in the area, booked a taxi for dinner and it was an ease and pleasure to stay here. Would highly recommend this spot in Maun.

The Waterfront is beautiful, well kept and very comfortable . The bedroom was spacious , very clean and the bathroom very well conceived. Patrick is considerate and helpful. The breakfast with home made bread and cakes was great and the fire lit every evening very welcoming.
There is nothing not to like at the Waterfront!

Comfortable, very neat, good coffee, spacious, well maintained and attention to detail.
A bit on the expensive side for what is provided and far from places to shop and eat. no in-house meals except breakfast (cold meats, variety of breads, cheese, jams and boiled eggs, fruit salad, yogurts, cereal)
