Alfred was fabulous and booked several tours and was just a wonderful . Diane’s meals are a MUST. Just a lovely experience. The snorkeling was great and everyone is super friendly!

Baja Mar was the perfect home for our group. The layout of the house is great for groups of couples or singles considering that the beds can be arranged as kings or single beds. There were ample seating areas with amenities that made the stay feel very comfortable! The dock in front of the home was ideal for early morning cups of coffee overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the wonderful reef that you can see the waves breaking on just a few hundred yards away. The host as well as Alfred and Dianie made the stay unforgettable! Alfred was always a text away and was very easy to work with throughout our vacation. He set our group up with golf carts, and the best tour guides on the island. He truly customized our stay and made it a special and memorable experience. Dianie prepared a delicious welcome meal the evening of our arrival and I cannot recommend it enough. The grounds were kept up very well and the crystal clear pool right out the doors of the bottom floor also made the stay so much more enjoyable.

Baja Mar met all of our expectations. Alfred was so helpful at explaining what the most popular excursions were and set them up for us. His wife, cooked for us twice and the food was just delicious. The bedrooms on the bottom floor are large so we were very comfortable. We enjoyed all of the outdoor spaces and the location was close to many local restaurants.

We had a fabulous time at Bajamar. We traveled as 2 families with 5 kids and fit perfect into the property. The communication from the owner and property manager as we planned our trip was the most thorough we’ve ever seen and set us up to truly relax. Alfred and Dianie couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Alfred arranged several excursions for us including: snorkeling, fishing, cave tubing and a visit to the Mayan ruins. All starting from the dock which was so convenient. Dianie’s food was nothing short of fabulous. She even made a tres leches cake for a birthday celebration. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, exploring the caye. It was truly a carefree vacation, we felt spoiled from the moment we got there. We could have stayed another week!

The house was just as described on VRBO. Very spacious for my husband and myself, 4 adult children, and grand-daughter. The lower three bedrooms are separate from the upstairs and each has its own bathroom. The pool area was very nice and clean, with ocean view. Alfred and Dianie keep the place very nice and cleaned twice for us during our week long stay. It was great to have clean linens after a long excursion day. Alfred has great recommendations for excursions and is very accommodating. He took care of us with any questions and help with golf carts, luggage, etc. Dianie cooked us a welcome meal that was excellent! The one and only thing that was not great was the long, very bumpy golf cart drive down a very rutted road to get the house from San Pedro town and most restaurants. Otherwise, I would highly recommend for a beautiful relaxing vacation!

Belize is a beautiful place! The home at BajaMar was perfect, the waters blue, the clean pool, and the people were wonderful hosts in their country. Alfred, Diane and Christian were so kind and the food was always deliciously prepared. We loved that we could set up excursions with Alfred and trust that all would go well. And they did! We had a GREAT time!

Enjoyed our time at the VRBO

Alfred & Dianie were great! They stocked out fridge with a “starter kit” of food and beverages. Dianie cooked a most amazing lobster dinner on our first night to celebrate a birthday in out group. Her Tres Leches cake was absolutely divine. The private pool is well maintained as were the house and property. Enjoyed quiet mornings with coffee and breakfast daily with our group before venturing into town.

I have traveled around the world and stayed in various places: hotel, resort, apartment, house, you name it. Nothing comes close to the experience I had at Baja Mar with my friends. The property is beautiful with plenty of beautiful views, privacy, and beach dog visits. The infinity pool was crystal clear and refreshing - it was hard to leave! What made the stay so special is Alfred and Dianie. We arrived in Belize as Hurricane Lisa came through. Alfred communicated with me and made sure I knew my options so that my group stayed safe. We fortunately arrived on San Pedro and Alfred worked hard to ensure we had our golf carts and transportation at the airport. He and Dianie grocery shopped for us so that we had some basics while we hunkered down during the storm. They even surprised us with a warm, home cooked dinner when we weren’t able to venture out. Dianie’s cooking is delicious; if you’re planning a birthday vacation like we were, I recommend her tres leches cake! They went above and beyond to make sure our birthday dinner was special - balloons and sparklers included! :) We loved working with Alfred to plan our excursions - snorkeling in Hol Chan, Caye Caulker, feeding tarpon, Shark Ray Alley and Lamanai Ruins. He made it so easy! We just had to walk to the dock. We also just loved chatting with them - lovely people who made our vacation so amazing. I will forever remember and be grateful for their hospitality and kindness. We will of course be back!

Our group of 9 was comprised of two families with 5 boys aged 8-15. The upstairs and downs stairs levels are connected via outdoor stairs, so it made sense for one family to stay up and the other down. (If you had older kids, the downstairs would be perfect for them). Each bedroom is spacious and has its own full toilet/shower. The verandas are perfect for relaxing. The property is beautiful and shared with the caretakers, Alfred and Dianie, who reside in the back carriage house. When we arrived, Mr. Alfred discussed our vacation wish list with us and set our group up with tour guides for the activities we wanted to do. We are used to having to book way in advance, so we were apprehensive about waiting to schedule our activities, but Mr. Alfred has connections, and can get it done! We felt well taken care of, and we able to do private tours exactly to our interests because of his help. He assumes a responsibility for his guests, and as a result, you feel safe and confident in a new and unfamiliar country. Ms. Dianie cooked for us a few nights, and it was outstanding! What a pleasure it was to have local cuisine in a family style setting right after walking in from a long day of adventure! No one left the table hungry, ever! There are also some restaurants within walking and golf cart distance, but we surely enjoyed our visits with this lovely and kind couple. Mr. Alfred was responsive to the entire groups’ needs, whether it be fetching more water, making certain we had fresh linens, organizing tours, or managing transportation to and from the airport . We flew tropic air from Belize City and rented golf carts. Be sure to have some bills handy for tipping baggage handlers and escorts. Also, unlike in the States, you fill the gas for your golf cart on arrival. The drive to Baja Mar takes you through San Pedro and down the road (about 30 minutes). Mr. Alfred had organized an escort for us through the golf cart company. The house is on the beach where coconuts, birds, lizards, and hermit crabs abound. We all enjoyed spotting iguanas and even found a few toucans. Sargassum was washing up all along the coast during our visit, but despite that, it was easy enough to paddle the kayaks straight out to the reef to snorkel in the clear water. The house itself, pool, and porches were clean and well maintained. Baja Mar was ideal for us as it provided the privacy impossible to find at a resort along with a small glimpse into island life.

The area smells due to the seaweed in the water and on the sides of the roads. This smell permeates the home as well. There were areas of the house that could have been cleaner. The tile floors need serious cleaning. The grout is dark in areas around the toilets which is really gross. There was sand in most rooms especially in the corners. Bed linens are very close to worn out. The care takers are very nice and will help in any way that you need. Bring your own soap, shampoo etc…none is provided at the home. The roads are rough…like the surface of the moon in some place. They were graded while we were there but because the roads are dirt the pot holes will reform…you travel in golf carts and it can be rough.

The House manager Alfred and his wife Diana were so sweet and SO helpful! All our needs ( massages at the house, grocery shopping, meals and covid tests) were met above and beyond. The meals made for us were SO good! We were eating the left overs for breakfast. They will also cook up the fish you catch. They helped us carry in groceries, taught us a lot about the Island and culture. We loved them so much we begged them to hang out with us ! The local dogs were spoiled while we were there- so sweet! Outside was cleaned up daily and it was fogged when needed for bugs- which were not bad at all. Tony- the owner was very easy to communicate with. We had a blast snorkeling and the guys went on several fishing trips. Big to do for first timers- go on Belize food tour at the start of your trip. It was fun! Will definitely be choosing Bajamar house in 2023!

The property setting is fantastic. The roads to the property or any other property after the concrete paved road ends are horrific and would keep me from booking anything in that area again - the roads are like driving through a war zone and as I said would keep me from going back to that area. The pool was ALWAYS cold to the point we didn't spend a lot of time in it and access in and out of the pool was less than ideal - old style pool ladder versus steps. Outdoor back patio kitchen and dining area are in need of drastic updating - refrigerator was full of mold and non-usable. Tried plugging in the under canopy lighting only to get a nasty shock. Rooms were large and comfortable and bathrooms were very clean.

Wonderful, spacious house on a beautiful property north of town. Tons of room for 4 couples, easy communication with house manager, and they took care of everything we needed the entire time. Easy golf cart ride (20-25 min) to town and Secret Beach but also secluded enough for privacy! Would return in a heartbeat.

Too bad you can only rate 5 stars! This was our best getaway travel experience by far and wish that we had stayed a few more days. Alfred and Dianie were wonderful and we enjoyed our time with our new friends! Alfred made arrangements for anything we needed, that included making arrangements for an on-site massage for the ladies. Dianie’s meals were delicious, no need to head out for your meals. Win and Christian were also great and there to help if we needed anything at all on the grounds. Baja Mar is a beautiful home and you really have everything you need there on site if you want to avoid the crowds during Covid or for any other time for that matter! Highly recommend and will definitely return in the future!

Alfred and Dianie are fabulous! They were so great with our family… Lots to do around and close to the property. Alfred made all of our day excursions so easy and accommodating for our family. We thoroughly enjoyed Dianie’s cooking and hospitality.

We had eight family members from across the country come to Belize to celebrate the holiday. It was great. Dianie cooked us a lobster dinner that will be remembered for a long time. Alfred took care of us in the most professional way. This was the perfect place for our gathering

Baha Mar is truly a Belizean paradise with fantastic amenities and an even better team! The owner (Tony) and caretaker (Alfred) were both extremely helpful, responsive, friendly, and professional. From pre-booking questions to setting up the property for us, to check-in, and acting as a concierge for our needs, no request was too large or small. The property is as described and pictured. It is extremely quiet, well kept, and accessible. Take the team's advice - book a golf cart for getting into town or to explore the island, take advantage of Dianie's meal service, and allow Alfred to act as your concierge to book activities. You will not be disappointed! I must admit, I am a planner and the thought of leaving so many details to someone else was uncomfortable. It was so worth it! I was able to relax and enjoy rather than worrying about details. Dianie's meals are delicious and fresh! We originally only requested 2 meals and ended up adding several more. There is good snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing off the dock. The pool is fantastic for relaxing and enjoying the sun. We spent a ton of time under the palapa relaxing. Do check out some of the local restaurants and businesses. Alfred has great recommendations. This was our first trip to Belize and Baja Mar and not our last. We've lost a piece of our hearts to Ambergris Caye and to Baja Mar!

I can only begin in saying that our stay at Baja Mar far exceeded any of our expectations. The property is absolutely gorgeous and can do no justice from just pictures. The house was exactly as described, but not enough good things can be said about the caretakers and onsite staff. Traveling in 2021 during COVID presented some obvious hurtles, but the owner was very responsive to our concerns and maintained great communication right up until our trip. Having our minds set at ease upon entering Belize, we were warmly greeted by Alfred and his wife Diane during our first night. Her welcome meal was an absolute delight and Alfred explained any all leisure options that would be available to us during our stay. He was very gracious in organizing our snorkel trips, fishing excursions, as well as our departing COVID tests that were required to reenter the US. His gracious hospitality just added to the whole experience. There is so much to explore in San Pedro and Baja Mar was the perfect jumping off point. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would no doubt return to Baja Mar again. From all of us, THANK YOU!!

Our vacation at Casa Bajamar was simply incredible. We were there in December 2020 with my family of 7 celebrating my retirement. The house/property is incredible - just as described on the website and plenty of room for everyone. The house and grounds were spacious and very clean. Alfred, the onsite caretaker, was incredible. He made everything so easy for us. And although we were traveling during the pandemic, Alfred made us feel 100% safe. The house was clean and sanitized, and strict safety protocols were followed, both at the property and everywhere we went in Belize.

We had 10 people staying at Baja Mar for 7 nights and felt extremely comfortable with the extra precautions for Covid. Traveling to Belize with the app and all the extra precautions made it safe for us to travel with teens and children. Tony and Alfred did a great job communicating with us prior to us arriving. Tony made sure we had all the necessary information for traveling and Alfred made sure we had a home cooked meal when we arrived and a fully stocked refrigerator. Alfred arranged for us to have golf carts waiting for us at the airport and this helped us to social distance. The house was perfect for 3 couples and 4 kids. Plenty of space for everyone. We spent every evening outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Diane made 4 wonderful meals for us and prepared the best food we ate on the whole trip. Alfred booked us 4 private excursions all were gold standard trips and took extra precautions during Covid. We snorkeled 3 days and took a private plane over the Blue Hole. There were plenty of mosquitos but if you applied bug spray they left you alone. This was just the getaway we needed to end 2020. We felt safe the whole time and would come back anytime. Belize as a whole was a great place to visit during Covid.

This was our first big family trip together, and this house was perfect for it. Plenty of space, amenities, and privacy. Each lower suite has it's own bathroom and it's own kitchenette which was a really nice feature. We spent a lot of time around the property and hanging at the pool. The sunrises were well worth waking up for, and the view from the home and off the dock are to die for! Alfred was absolutely amazing. This was my parents first stay in a non-hotel setting out of country, and as such they required some extra help and attention with a few things. Alfred was always patient, kind, and helpful with them, even when I thought they were being a bit unreasonable. Alfred also organized some excursions for us, and that was absolutely wonderful to have this service. We were picked up right from the dock, had the boat all to ourselves, and dropped back off at home, and the pricing was on par with other tours. We did a half day of a snorkel and reef fishing combo, and a full day to Hol Chan, Shark Ray Ally, Caye Caulker, and a couple other little stops. I definitely recommend the latter excursion for sure! Wonderful stay, and everything was as it appears online. We had no surprises, and were very happy with our stay here!

Alfred and his family did a great job of making our stay comfortable for this beautiful location. They were helpful to make our stay wonderful, helped us with adventure tours and where to go for restaurants. One can not go wrong with this property.

Our first trip to Belize and it was FABULOUS! BajaMar was a gem! Accommodations beautiful and location is perfect! Walking distance to bars and restaurants. Sandy, white beach and very clean. Thanks to Alfred and Diane our stay was perfect! Our welcome meal delicious and Alfred catered to our every need..even when we didn’t know we needed it :) diving and snorkeling were fabulous, best we have ever experienced. Spearing lobster in front of dock was perfect! Fishing trip with Genie top notch! We caught grouper, yellow fin tuna and several species of snappers. Our feast that night prepared by Genie was all timer! We took water taxi to BajaMar which was perfect because they will take you do do grocery shopping and load and unload all at your private dock. We took the plane on return from San Pedro to Belize airport and the views were fabulous! Golf cart rental worked out great for the 8 of us (ages 8-60) REMEMBER TO BRING SUNSCREEN AND BUG SPRAY!! Thank you Alfred and Diane!! We look forward to our return trip to BajaMar:-)

My husband, me and 4 of my friends rented this property for a week - it was really hard to come back home. Between Dianie's cooking and Alfred's attentiveness, we were all set. I definitely recommend this place. The on-site pool was awesome, and there were plenty of places to eat just a short walking distance away. We did several tours, from snorkeling and scuba, to floating through a cave and climbing ruins. All of them started right from the end of our dock. So many fun things to choose from!

A comfortable and quiet location. Caretakers were helpful and responsive in every way. Beautiful views.

We just returned from a week at BajaMar and it was such an amazing trip! Tony was very helpful in answering questions in advance of our trip, as well as providing detailed information about the best way to get to, and around, Belize. We were 9 people in total; 6 adults and 3 children. The house accommodated us beautifully and Tony was very helpful in making sure we had the right configuration of beds for everyone. The house itself is well equipped with everything you need but, most importantly, the house is managed by Alfred who is AMAZING. Anything we needed, Alfred got. He organized our snorkeling and cave tubing excursions, secured our golf carts, and even drove my parents back to the airport on the day of their departure. We ran into a few snags (AC leaked in one suite and did not work in another) and Alfred promptly attended to the issues. When our golf cart wouldn't start, he ran outside with WD40 and let us know it was just the humidity causing problems. I can't say enough about how amazing he was! Alfred's wife, Dianie, cooked for us 2 times and both meals were amazing. Our welcome meal was perfect after a long day of travel! I wish we had asked her to prepare more meals for us... next time! My kids loved the pool and spent hours upon hours swimming it. The outdoor space allowed for the adults to relax in the sun (or shade) while making sure the kids were safe. I could quite literally have sat on the porch and looked at the view from sunrise to sunset. It is just that beautiful. Can't say enough about BajaMar! Loved every second of being there!

Alfred and Dianie were awesome, they took care of us when we need something. I highly recommend this property if you have a large group of friends everyone has there own entrance. We enjoyed our vacation very much. Looking forward to booking our next trip
