The apartment was great ! The apartment was a cool oasis as the temperature was extremely hot! It was fabulous to have a kitchen to make meals and the bed was very comfortable. It was helpful to have laundry as one of our suitcase took a detour to Houston instead of DC! All in all we had a fantastic time at the apartment and we highly recommend Ann as a host .

This lovely little place was comfortable and met our needs. The fact that we could use the backyard patio for our dog to get some fresh air was nice. Liked walking the neighborhood and to Eastern Market for dinners. Ann was friendly and helpful.

The property had all the necessary items for a comfortable stay. And most importantly it was super clean.

Very convenient to the monuments and museums, either walking or quick Uber/Lyft ride.

Spring Break trip to see all the tourist sites in DC. Perfect location for access to Metro and walking to Capitol sites. Safe and secure neighborhood. Even walked back from the Capitol late one evening! Only suggestion would be to update kitchen ware. Couldn’t use oven as no bakeware and dinner plates too large too fit in dishwasher. Very minor inconveniences.

Loved the location! Safe! CLEAN! Comfortable! Hosts were awesome! Parking is a nightmare in DC, that’s the only complaint. However we had a parking pass. Recommend this stay! It was awesome! Everything we needed! Thank youn

Such a great location! Cozy and just as pictured, described. Super safe and beautiful neighborhood- can’t be beat! When we first arrived and I needed assistance parking, Anne moved her car around so I could slide into an easy spot! Thanks again!!Anne was responsive with my questions and even let us borrow a drill to assemble furniture at my daughter’s apartment. I would easily stay here again. Our week long stay was perfect.

Anne was so very gracious and helpful. Comfortable apartment, great area to walk our dog. Tastefully decorated and comfy bed. All in all a great visit!

Ann has a excellent location with this property. Nicely appointed with all the niceties for a lengthy stay. Subway is but a short walk thru a very nice neighborhood as well as an efficient bus system. Strongly recommended.

This apartment on Capitol Hill was just as advertised. It was cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed. Ann, the owner, met us on arrival and showed us around. She also provided maps and neighborhood dining recommendations. The neighborhood was beautiful, walkable, and near a metro station. We would definitely stay here again.

everything was per the description....located in a quiet and much- better-than-average neighborhood, everything is very clean....comfy bed, nicely appointed kitchen, ann is a super-nice and very attentive host ! looking forward to returning next year!

• Immediate response when messaging before getting there • Code for entry • Immaculate, could eat off every floor even bathroom • Was 97 degrees with like 100% humidity and she had it sooooo cool. I was dreading getting there and have to them turn on the AC. Lifesaver as I get very sick in bad heat. • Old school ice cubes trays, but had two of them filled and frozen!! The little things since I forgot to stop and get a bag of ice. • Welcome sheet with WiFi info, where things were in the apartment, directions to certain areas, food places with phone numbers, info how to work the mini split AC and remote, and a huge separate tv remote pic and instructions, WOW!! • Has Ion air cleaner going in bedroom, love it!! • Kitchen full of anything you need to cook/clean. • TONS of extra linens and pillows!! • Loved the whole place being white, even bedding, towels, just so Chrystal clean and bright! • Adorable back yard set up • Beautiful neighborhood • Hard to find street parking • Woke up first day to green sustainable box waters • Tons of clean towels • Left us be, was worried about that as they live upstairs. Dog only barks occasionally • Night lights in the bathroom and kitchen and extremely helpful for new surroundings in the middle of the night • Was accommodating when we asked to stay another day. -Bed SUPER comfortable!! I just cannot say enough good things about this host and rental!!! A+++++++. 100 stars!! Would highly recommend this rental!!

The location was great. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Trader Joe's is only 1/2 mile away, and the kitchen was big enough for us to cook all our breakfasts and dinners. We also were able to walk to almost all of the sites we wanted to see, with a bike rental rack right around the corner. My only small complaint would be the upstairs noise. It's an apartment in the basement of an old building, so the walking and conversations are easily heard and the ceilings are very low if youre tall at all. Everything else was great, and they thought of everything to make our stay comfortable.

Great communication, answered all our questions, CLEAN and extras provided. 2 friends (women) felt very safe. Reasonably priced and Would defiantly stay again.

Great location and property. The hosts were very thoughtful about little extras provided in the apartment. Great variety of pillows for everyone to pick the right one for a good night’s sleep. Plenty of towels and linens available. We used the washer and dryer in the middle of our stay and used the detergent made available. We enjoyed the outdoor space since we had such great weather in Spring. They frequently enquired if we needed anything and gave advice about the neighborhood and places to eat and shop. Absolutely enjoyed our visit and would recommend anyone to stay at this property. The only criticism would be the noise from upstairs could be a concern for some, it was never a concern that impacted our sleep or woke us up.

Basement apt had everything we needed for our weekend stay with plenty of extra towels/linens. We appreciated the extra bar soap, shampoo, toothpaste in the BR and the flat was exactly as described and pictured. We hope this won’t be our only visit to this cute apartment. You can hear the hosts and their dog above you in the apt occasionally but as city dwellers ourselves this didn’t bother us.

Second time staying at this wonderful spot. Everything you could need or want in a beautiful, vibrant neighborhood. Lovely hosts! Can’t wait to go back again soon.

We loved the apartment, neighborhood, proximity to Capitol, and felt totally safe walking at night. The owners are awesome and have thought of everything. We ate all our meals in (Traders Joes approx. 7 blocks away) and kitchen is stocked with things you need. We were so comfortable with our little dog. LOVE everything about this place.

Advertised as “The Best Block on the Hill”, and it is. Everything you could want.

While visiting our son in Capitol Hill, we've gravitated to the English basement. This was the 4th one we've stayed in and the best. It was spacious with a large front room with good light, small kitchen and cool, comfortable bedroom in the center, large washer/dryer and access to the back patio with new grill in the rear. Also a pretty garden in the front with a bench, where you can chat with friendly neighbors. Ann and Ted were most gracious hosts, offering plenty of insightful, local knowledge when requested and otherwise quiet and unobtrusive. Also Abbey their St Bernard was sweet with our dog even though she outweighed her by probably 80 lbs. Beautiful neighborhood was a short walk to Eastern Market, Lincoln Park and Union Station. Street parking was easy if needed and Ann had a guest parking permit waiting for us. Stay here, you'll be glad you did.

Spacious, clean apartment with access to backyard. Safe location close to all sightseeing. Host was great.

Charming, cozy, versatile apartment. Small kitchen but it has a stove and dishwasher. Who needs more on vacation? Also has a large washer and dryer and plenty of extra towels and linens. Location can't be beat as it is within. walking distance of the Capitol, Eastern Market, etc. The neighborhood is safe for daytime and late night walks. The owner is friendly but gives you your space.

My visit felt like being back home in your Mom's basement but better we had much of what we needed for our entire stay. Property Owner was quite pleasant

My husband and I were extremely pleased with the location & condition of this property. The quaint juxtaposition of bright and airy or cavelike dwelling, depending on your preference suited us well. The ease of access to all things Capital Hill was a huge plus. We were in town to take a self-guided evening tour of the capital buildings. The location did not disappoint! Less than 10 minutes on bike. Another huge benefit for us, was the “hands off approach” by our gracious host, Ann. We touched base upon check-in and check-out: permitting us to enjoy ourselves without feeling as if an overbearing host was injecting themselves into our time. We would absolutely stay at this property again!

Approx 1 mile from Congress and Supreme Court. Grocery and restaurants approx 5-6 blocks walk. Very comfortable fully equipped apt. I would definitely stay there again. Safe, lovely residential neighborhood

Your property was perfect for what we needed! Close to tourist area but quiet,safe neighborhood. Close to restaurants and Eastern market. Loved it. Will definitely recommend to others!
