We stayed for a week. The owner Jacqueline was was very responsive and checked in frequently throughout our stay. The housecleaner Myrta, was exceptional and very helpful. The houses are close to Carillo Beach. We walked to Playa Carillo one day, although the road is a bit busy for walking with small children, so we drove most days. The restaurants in the area are excellent, and it was a relaxing stay. The biggest disappointment was that the sloth tour wasn’t running, but days at the the pool and beach more than made up for it, as well as a boat ride to watch dolphins, swim, snorkel, and trawl for fish (sadly did not catch anything, but still fun).

Our family of six (parents and 4 adult children) had a wonderful time staying here. The home is spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for everyone. The pool is beautiful and was enjoyed by all. Monkeys and iguanas were frequent visitors! Working with Jackie was a breeze. From the moment I booked the house she was available and easy to communicate with - answering messages and offering suggestions on local experiences, restaurants, stores, and drive times to/from airport and other towns. Jackie checked on us throughout the visit to make sure we had all we needed. She helped arrange a private dinner in the house with a lovely man named Walter who served fresh mahimahi (caught by his son), shrimp, guacamole, and pico de gallo. Mornings started with hot coffee and a delicious breakfast prepared by Myrtha, who also kept the house spotless. Restaurants and local grocery stores are in walking distance. The local beach was beautiful and not crowded. We took surfing lessons in Samara and enjoyed a zip line adventure one day. Thank you Jackie for sharing your home with us so we could experience your beautiful country! We all had a great first trip to Costa Rica and hope to return!

Beautiful home and guest house with even more beautiful pool and grounds! We had a wonderful time ... thanks to Jackie who helped arrange some activities and reservations for us. Playa Carrillo is a gorgeous beach a short walk away. Myrtha makes excellent breakfasts and took good care of the house and us. All in all we had a terrific vacation!

Beautiful property. Very clean. Wonderful wildlife including birds and iguanas. We walked to the restaurant in about 5 minutes. Rooms were very comfortable.

It was a beautiful place with great space. The pool was fabulous. It could use some maintenance and checking on kitchen equipment.

Great property with wonderful pool and grounds. Great compound for interaction of multiple guests that still are able to maintain their individual private areas due to the large size of the property. Wonderfully prepared full Costa Rican breakfasts each day. Friendly and efficient housekeeper kept the house in order. The property did have multiple maintenance issues that need to be corrected. In short, the property is great and would be an easy five star property with a little tender loving care.

We loved this house. The house itself has lots of character, is very comfortable and a lovely outdoor sitting area. The pool is beautiful and the setting amongst the trees is lovely, we saw some amazing birds, including toucans! Easy walk to the shops and a few local restaurants. It's a bit of a walk to the beach as there is a hill on the way back but it's a 1 min drive and the beach is absolutely divine, it was our favourite beach in Costa Rica. Never crowded, very safe for swimming and a nice family vibe on the beach. If you want more restaurants or shopping, Samara is less than 15 mins down the road. There's also some more secluded beaches within 30/40mins of the house that are not hard to reach even by two wheel drive car. We wished we had more time to explore. Jackie was really great in her communication with us and her tips on driving to the house helped a lot as Google maps is not overly accurate in Costa Rica (loves to take you down a rough dirt road). She also helped us organise an airport transfer for my parents which was great. Mrytha, the housekeeper and breakfast chef was lovely and served up delicious breakfast each day and kept the house spotless. We wished we never had to leave and really hope that we'll be back to this wonderful spot.

The home and property is breathtaking -- we watched monkeys play in the trees while we were eating. Beach is a 10 minute walk - and the beach was quiet and beautiful. The host was so helpful, attentive and so very responsive. Myrtha's breakfast was delicious and she was so wonderful. We WILL be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Oasis (8 adults). Jackie organized our transportation to and from the airport. Breakfast in the mornings was delicious and Martha was flexible with what time we wanted to eat. The restaurants in the area were soooo good that we didn’t even want to go to Samara for dinners like we originally thought we would. There were many minor maintenance issues such as broken screens on upper windows, the safe was broken and knives were very dull but this didn’t really affect our stay. The pool was wonderful and helped us cool off when we got too warm. There was a variety of wildlife that came by to visit including monkeys, raccoons, iguanas and a variety of birds. There were many furnished areas to sit outside and the outdoor furniture was of excellent quality. They guys went fishing with Jackie’s husband Rick and also had a wonderful experience, they even caught a marlin! All the tours we booked were willing to pick us up at the Villa. Overall we had a wonderful stay at Villa Oasis. Jackie was very helpful with information and bookings. She has many local connections and we were very comfortable at her home.

Jacqueline was an incredibly supportive host, setting up tours with really wonderful guides and last minute trips to and from the airport. Hi my friends felt incredibly supported the entire way through the trip. Jermaine great recommendations for bringing in meals, including special meal by Chef Yannii and delicious fresh fish and lobster tacos by Walter. Myrta was a super attentive support with huge, delicious breakfasts and the house was always clean and well kept. The Spanish speakers among us really loved being able to talk and ask questions and she always had the coffee strong and ready when we woke up. The house was perfect for our group setup -- which was a number of single and couple friends with one family where people could have their own private space but easily come together for meals and talking time around the pool, on the porch, and in the living room. And the location was great! Super close to Playa Carrillo, a really short drive to Playa Samara and easy walking access to several restaurants/sodas and a grocery store. We loved our experience and we would go again and stay there again in a heartbeat.

Our stay at Villa Oasis was great! The home is lovely, comfortable, and has beautiful grounds. It is even prettier in person! We enjoyed the pool, and its resident iguana, every day. Communication with Jackie was quick, helpful, and friendly from booking to departure. Myrtha greeted us upon arrival, was very welcoming, and gave us a tour of the house, which is well-equipped with everything you might need. And, Myrtha made us a great breakfast every morning of our stay and kept the house spotless! Her daughter was also very sweet. It was very easy to get to the house and we felt very secure. We enjoyed being close to Samara, but also found Carrillo had everything we needed - a few restaurants and markets. Playa Carrillo is easy to get to, has tons of parking, and has beautiful sunsets. Jackie connected us with Brian at Wakaya Tours for a fun side-by-side ATV tour. We really enjoyed that tour - the ATVs are a blast to drive and Brian made us feel very safe through the entire adventure. Jackie also arranged surf lessons for our oldest son at Playa Samara. The beach at Samara was a great place to try surfing and to just to be in the water – gentle surf and shallow water. We also booked a tour at the Jungle Butterfly Farm and thoroughly enjoyed that as well. It was an easy drive from the house, and we were able to go to Camaronal Wildlife Refuge on the same trip. Our family would not hesitate to stay here again!

Super nice location with no neighbors from inside the property to be concerned about. We felt secure and secluded. There are restaurants and markets within walking distance and the beach is not too much further. We enjoyed the patio dinning table and pool with a mansion feel. There are separate rooms and a sufficient number of restrooms, including one in the pool area. Some details could be worked on for type "A" people, like a Christmas themed table cloth in July and minor maintenance. Everything else was great and went as expected. Communication with hosts and Myrtha, the on-site person, was great. Myrtha cooked two very good breakfast meals for our large group and was very friendly. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time! The property is beautiful, roomy, and well appointed. A yummy breakfast provided every morning made us feel spoiled and well taken care of. Also, having housekeeping every day in a VRBO is such a nice treat! We wouldn’t have changed a thing! The host is very responsive, and once we arrived gave us lots of recommendations on things to do and places to eat and nothing disappointed. Playa Carillo has become one of our top beaches of all time! If we ever find ourselves back in Costa Rico, we’d stay here again without hesitation!

I'd love to keep this property all to myself but that would be such an injustice. Jackie has a lovely home, it is well-appointed, has relaxing vibes and is in a wonderful location. The AC in the bedrooms kept us all comfortable as we slept. We spent much of our time at the home out on the deck or in the refreshing pool. Mrytha, the housekeeper, kept the home tidy, did some laundry for us which was super helpful, and even cooked us breakfast! Jackie was an extraordinary host. She offered top-notch recommendations, made reservations for fun activities (surfing & dolphin tour) and her husband hooked mine up with a last-minute wardrobe need. We highly recommend this home and will definitely stay here again.

We had an excellent time here. The pool was the highlight for the grandchildren every day. Jackie was great and easy to communicate with. She set up a dolphin tour for us which was totally worth it. We absolutely loved Myrtha, who made an amazing breakfast for us every morning. We will miss her and her warm personality the most. It was nice to be able to walk to restaurants and the corner store. Playa Carrillo is definitely our favourite beach ever. We will cherish the memories from our stay here. Loved every minute!

This is a beautiful property that is well appointed and landscaped, and kept impeccably clean by Myrtha, the housekeeper and breakfast chef. The host, Jackie, checked in every few days to make sure were having fun. She made some suggestions of activities she thought we would enjoy, and let us know when she heard there would be an arribada at Playa Ostional, which we would otherwise not have known and was a highlight of our trip. We also enjoyed her recommended visit to the macaw recovery project and hiking the trails and the beach at nearby Playa Camaronal. Jackie also provided all the foods we liked for breakfast, which included lots of fruit. We made delicious smoothies with the blender that is provided. The pool is very private, and we used it many times per day to cool off, as the house was hot in the afternoons. It is also wonderful at night to float in the pool and look at the stars. Also enjoyed the boogie boards in the gentle surf of Playa Carillo.

Everything was great

We were eight people looking for a stay in Carillo, and we were very fortunate that we selected this spot. Great location, walking distance to a beautiful beach. Convenient stores and restaurants nearby too. Great communication with the landlord. Daily cleaning service and cooked breakfast (delicious!) included… way beyond our expectations. Internet worked great. Pool was refreshing. Very happy overall!

We highly recommend this property and the place in general. Carrillo is a really good beach to stay and is very closed to Playa Samara were we can find good restaurants.

We could not have asked for a better experience. Jackie and Rick were amazing. They went above and beyond to provide everything we needed during our stay. From setting up a fishing excursion, finding a private cook, to answering every question we asked they were there. Myrta made great breakfasts for us every morning, and we really enjoyed meeting her. My kids loved playing with her daughter. Overall an amazing experience!

Everything about our stay was magical. The house was beautiful, spacious, and clean; the grounds were breathtaking, the pool was delightful, and Jackie could not have been a better host. She was so accommodating and went above and beyond every step of the way. We felt like we had our own personal concierge service! She booked an incredible boat excursion for us where we saw tons of dolphins frolicking right next to our boat; she made much appreciated recommendations for activities, sights, and restaurants, and she was so kind and pleasant and truly made us feel like it was her pleasure to make sure we had the best possible experience. And then there is the housekeeper, Myrtha, who also added so much to our stay here by fixing us substantial and delicious breakfasts each morning and then doing some cleaning — again, making us feel like it was her pleasure to serve us. Our family of 6 adults enjoyed our stay so much. We would love to come back to Costa Rica, and if and when we do — we would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our week long stay at this property! We loved the location and the neighborhood. The house and the guesthouse were huge and although there were two families we all had enough privacy and space to enjoy each other. The grounds and view are beautiful. Jackie was so helpful arranging activities for us. She responded immediately and was willing to do anything to make our week great. This was our first trip after covid and it was a wonderful getaway!

We had an excellent experience at Villa Oasis - my family, including two children under age 3, stayed for a week and had a lovely time! The home was great, clean, spacious, quiet, and had a great pool and outdoor with lots of wildlife visitors we saw during our time, such as howler monkeys, iguanas, and lovely birds. There was also a box of sand and water toys for our kids to play with in the pool and at the beach. Mirtha’s presence made our trip stand out from other visits we’ve had to Costa Rica, as she made great breakfasts for us every day and cleaned the kitchen and bed/bathrooms, helped to connect us with a local fisherman to buy some red snapper one day, and just answered many little questions like where the safest place on the beach would be for my littles to get in the ocean, etc. Her daughter is also lovely and loved playing with my two small children in the mornings. This was our first time staying in Playa Carrillo and we really enjoyed the town - it is a great quiet and accessible town for families - the beach is great with lots of shade and a calm cove near the big rock that is safe for children to play in the water. Jackie was a lovely host - she checked in with us frequently, and was beyond helpful in helping me to coordinate our covid testing requirements for reentry into the states - a local laboratory actually came to the house and tested our whole group for us one morning - so wonderful! I would highly recommend a stay here! We hope to return again soon. :-)

Our group of 6 people (3 couples) had an amazing time at Villa Oasis! The house and adjoining apartment made for a very comfortable stay with more than enough room for everyone to relax and unwind! The pool was beautiful and perfect to escape the sun and heat. The owner Jackie was the perfect host, always quick to respond to our questions and with lots of great recommendations to make sure we had a great stay. Her housekeeper, Merta was an added bonus making breakfast and keeping everything clean! We would definitely recommend staying at Villa Oasis when visiting Costa Rica!

We spent 8 days at this property ! We loved it! Very spacious . Loved location and pool was amazing. ( we did wish the waterfall would of ran more than just a few hours a day) Jacque was awesome to work with to say the least!!! She helped us schedule a tour and gave us some local this gs to do!! We were also caught in an accident coming in from San Jose and was extremely late getting in, but was greeted my Maritz with a smile ! One of the air conditioning units went out which was beyond anyone’s control and she had the men there fixing it bright and early one morning. Breakfast was amazing also! We love this property and would highly recommend!!!!!

We were traveling as two families of four(teenagers and adults). It was the Nelson family's third visit to Playa Carrillo and the Justs' first visit to Costa Rica. The location is perfect for us. Quiet street were you get to meet the neighbors and walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The house was set up perfect. Plenty of room for our two families to relax. The pool was plenty big; maybe a bit cool, but very refreshing when returning from the hot beach. Kitchen had everything we needed and a wonderful gas grill. Daily visits from the iguanas and monkeys. Mirta, the housekeeper / cook was wonderful! She was very accommodating to our needs . If we wanted breakfast earlier, we just let her know and it was no problem. Not that we made a big mess, but it was nice to have someone pick up and organize after we hustled to get out the door for whatever activity we had planned. Our families really enjoyed having Mirta around. Whether it was her breakfasts or practicing their Spanish with her or her cute little daughter. Jackie was a Wonderfull and gracious host. She was readily available to set up an activity or available for questions. We will definitely look at staying at Villa Oasis on our next trip to Playa Carrillo. We loved staying at Jackie's home and would gladly return. I stayed with my family of four (6 and 3yo) for 5 days. Jackie was a very responsive hostess both before and during our trip. We were greeted by Mirta, who helped orient us and was around daily to do some cleaning. We loved having Mirta there daily (she cleans for a few hours in the morning). She was incredibly pleasant and warm. Her 7yo daughter came over on a couple of occasions to play with my kids. It was a pleasure to have breakfast on the porch. The house was much bigger than expected based on the pictures. Agree with other reviews that it could get warm in the main room/kitchen but we weren't too bothered given the AC in the bedrooms and the pool. We saw more wildlife here than on the rest of our three week trip (including during our hikes in the Monteverde and Arenal areas)--monkeys, iguanas, various birds. Having a car is a good idea (especially with kids) though you could walk to the beach. We loved the beach (Carillo)--beautiful sand, great waves for the kids, and quiet. Being there in the late afternoon and for sunsets was amazing. We visited the Samara beach as well but preferred Carillo as it was much quieter and (we thought) more beautiful. Loved the pipa frias (fresh, cold coconut water) to cool off. Samara is a close 10 minute drive. Nice small beach town to explore. Some lovely places to each right on the beach. We ate at the nearby Hula Jungla a couple of times. Good food and a couple of swings that my kids loved. Also ate at Los Colibris which was great Argentinia parilla. Very cute, outdoor space. Highly recommend it as well. This is the type of place we'd love to return to. Highly recommend. Thanks Jackie and Mirta!

This property was perfect for the occasion. Our group of 12 included our 4 and 8 year old grandchildren ,their parents, and our former German exchange student with her husband and two teenage daughters. Everyone loved the swimming pool and short walk to the beach and restaurants. Merta made wonderful breakfasts. And took good care of us. Jackie arrived soon after our arrival and it was such a pleasure to meet her and have her answer all our questions and make great recommendations of things to do and make dinner reservations for us which was so helpful on Christmas Eve. We could not be more pleased,

We traveled to Villa Oasis as two couples. The communication & the check-in were excellent. The location requires a rental car for travelling & shopping, & is located near the end of a quiet, private street. The covered deck with the rocking chairs made for a very relaxing time here. The new BBQ was a nice touch. A/C in the bedrooms (only) made for a great night sleep. Thank you Jacqueline & Mirta for your hospitality.
