East Austin Hotel is located very centrally. We had an event in Zilker Botanical Gardens, and the hotel was about 15 minutes away from the Gardens (but still expect lots of typical Austin traffic and congestion on the highways). My total for one night stay was about $100, plus $150 for incidentals (will be refunded after the stay). They have a great rooftop bar on the 2nd floor that overlooks a small pool and a great view of the skyline. When we arrived, people were enjoying the pool and there was a DJ playing music, it seemed like good summer vibes. The staff was very informative and nice. We only stayed for one night, so we didn't need anything fancy but still wanted clean and not super far from where we needed to be the next day. East Austin Hotel is a good value for that reason, proximity and savings.
We booked the "cabin" style hotel room where the bathroom and shower are completely separate from the room. They aren't communal style you can still lock it and have complete privacy, and it will show on the outside "Vacant" or "Occupied". That was not the hotel's fault, they have regular hotel rooms, but we didn't fully read the description when booking so be careful. It isn't a bad set up, but you have to leave your room anytime you want to pee or get ready, shower etc. The restroom/showers were clean per say, but you can tell (or at least it seemed) that they only clean them maybe in the mornings because it still felt dirty; like pee on the seats, water on the floor, and hair in the shower, etc. It's not unbearable but I didn't feel fully comfortable because it feels like a public toilet in a way, almost like you're back at camp. Again, everything is tiled and clean but depends on what your style is. The room itself is small and had a funny "wet" smell we couldn't shake. You are provided 1 towel per person. You are right next to the street so definitely expect a lot of yelling and noise from drunk people walking around outside. I wish they would validate parking, but we drove, so it was about $40 for 24 hours in their covered & gated parking garage. That was okay though for safety reasons! There is cheaper street parking if you feel okay with leaving your car on the street. Overall, it was a step above a motel, good value for a short stay - I would say depending on what you can handle. My mom & I felt it was okay because we were only there for a night.

Excellent location and very friendly, helpful and professional staff. Underground parking garage is a plus, although it is not free for guests.

Excellent location for east Austin/6th Street bars and restaurants. Some excellent beer gardens super local to us. Great pool party on a Saturday! Lovely restaurants on site. Great value grab and go breakfast options. Air con in the room was in our control and did the job. Was super clean. Great shared toilet facilities. Lovely friendly staff. Good options at the bar

when i stayed there the fire alarm went off at 4am for about 10 minutes and then again about 30-45 minutes later at around 4:45am.
the next day they had an extremely loud pool party that started at about 10am.
also there was roaches in my shower and took pictures and everything.
i’ve reached out and contacted the hotel about 5-6 times and no one has responded or even replied to my emails or phone calls.
they also charged
me an extra day because i was about an hour over the check out time and when i have asked to talk to someone about it…nothing. i left multiple notices with the front desk asking someone to contact me and called and emailed and still, ive not heard back.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
The room was disgusting and extremely small. They were hosting a nude Homosexual Pool Party with the loudest EDM music I've ever heard. The staff lied to me telling me the room was big and the area was quiet. They told me there would not be pool parties, which was a lie. The place smelled like urine. They also lied saying that the bathroom was big but the bathroom was a publicly shared bathroom with everyone on the floor. This was NOT a Hotel - it was an overpriced Homosexual Brothel Hostel. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Pretty location.
Most staff had an air of superiority.

Great set up for the economic traveller. With the cabin rooms, that shared a set of bathrooms.
The hotel was quiet, and doors didn't close to loudly.
It was a bit further from downtown, but also super close to the bike lane and rentable scooters to get into and out of downtown easily.

We loved the location....excellent price for the large room. Customer service at the bar upstairs was wonderful and friendly.
Manager with big glasses....wonderful!!
front desk could be friendlier as well as morning breakfast server...she was exceptional in the evening but not near as happy the next morning. However, we would definitely stay there again!

It’s a solid hotel, good simple vibe.

Location was great. Staff was. friendly.
I felt that they chose form over function. Case in point - besides a closet, here was no storage. No bureau to put
underwear, socks, etc. Not even a drawer in the nightstand. Lighting was funky. The bedside reading light was in-
adequate and glaring. The sliding doors in the bathroom were very difficult to open and close.

Bed was comfy and very straight to the point. We opted for a shower in the room and it made the stay complete
Some outlets needed to be tinkered with, but that’s me being picky!

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the quality toiletries
There are several small bars and clubs surrounding the property, all of which play different music at a volume that I assume is meant to attempt to drown out the others around. I didn’t expect the room to be soundproof, but the outside noise sounded like it was in the room with me. Also, when I asked for a taxi to the airport, the person at the front desk told me “taxis don’t really come here”

Really lovely hotel! Amazing funky decor in all the rooms, bathrooms and building! Amazing location to get to the main streets of Austin too! The bathrooms are really lovely, they aren’t particularly ‘shared’ as you are able to lock the door and have a shower, sink and toilet all to yourself! We would definitely come back!!

Room was clean and comfortable.
Nicely decorated too. Loved the Victrola radio (my favourite thing in the whole room).
Room had everything I needed - working fridge, a safe, iron and ironing table, shower gel/shampoo/conditioner, body cream. Saved me from having to pack or buy this stuff myself.
TV had a ton of options, from sports to news to shows.
Thermostat in the room was easy to use.
And I liked the 'shortcut' entrance. Quick and easy access to my room.
Got pretty loud on my last night, with people coming and going and slamming doors. Room was on ground floor with a lot of echo, so the noise woke me up several times.
Not the hotel's fault, but that was one thing I didn't like.

The $150.00 deposit charge was more than the usual $50.00 and two days later after check out still has not been refunded!

You had to pay extra for parking onsite opposed to it being included in price. Surprised me, that's all.

The bed and room was really cute and comfortable
The pool area is nice but the pool itself was ice cold my body went into shock when I jumped in so I wouldn’t expect to swim long

I enjoyed the hotel bar. The food and drinks were great. The staff was also friendly and accommodating.
Everything. When I arrived, I was told the elevator was down. I had to carry my luggage up 3 flights of stairs. No one asked me if I needed help. When I got into my room, my bed was wet and towels were damp. I also didn’t have a private bathroom. They have shared gender bathrooms. My second morning there, two of the bathrooms were filthy. Every night there was loud music playing until 3am and one night someone tried to get into my room. My stay was so bad that I didn’t even stay my last night. I left at 1:45am to head to the airport. I am desperately trying to get a refund but no one from the hotel is responding.

Excellent
I very much like the idea of the Cabin/ restroom facilities. It reminded me when I was in Iceland, same concept. I would of liked bath mats to be readily available and a bin to place the used mats so that the next guest using bathroom comes into a clean and dry floor.

Location was great. Good bars and restaurants on site. Pool was a nice bonus. Bedding was fantastic
There was a visitor in our room and the staff just brushed it off as a "south Texas thing"

We were to celebrate a friend’s engagement. It was walking distance to the venue.
It was clean and comfortable. Everything we needed for a overnight stay. The staff was super friendly. The only thing that was negative was the musty smell in the room.

Location was convenient.
Don’t recommend this hotel.. although the location is great and the staff were friendly we were very disappointed with our stay. We checked in at 3pm and as soon as we opened our hotel room (214) we were hit with this awful damp mouldy smell. We were in our room for around half an hour before we headed out again. Arrived back at the room around 11pm, got into bed and couldn’t sleep because the smell was so unbearable/unpleasant. I went down to reception (luckily 24 hr) and spoke to the nice staff member behind reception. He didn’t seem at all shocked or surprised when I stated it had a bad smell and moved us to a new room straight away. Seems like this could be an ongoing issue for guests. Our new room was the floor below and still had a similar stench yet not as bad (although the view from this room was a brick wall, extremely dark and dingy) . Our compensation for the inconvenience was an hour late check out. Would have preferred a refund as we paid near $200 for the room. Luckily we had only booked for one night.

A cool hotel. Pretty new property so everything is still fresh. Definitely go for the pool view rooms, the standard ones with no balcony and no view are not recommended. The restaurant is nice, although it was empty throughout our stay. The pool is a great feature , although we thought the music was a bit loud, a little outside shower would also be nice, just to avoid a lair of sun screen in the water.
