We had a great time staying at Mad Mac. Even with Hurricane Debby threatening our stay, we had a blast. Thankfully, Debby only sent clouds and rain but we managed to swim in the pool daily and walk to the ocean. The accommodations were amazing. We had 14 people and we all were very comfortable. We will definitely stay here when in the OBX again!

The house was extremely well-stocked (especially the kitchen!) and the Roku TVs in every room were great. We could not have had a better time as there is more than enough room for everyone in our large group to relax without being on top of each other.
The highlight of the house was the top floor, and everyone loved how open and spacious it was. The chef quality kitchen was amazing as well, and we were able to cook some amazing meals.
Lastly the outdoor area was everything we expected, and the tiki bar was fun.
Everyone agreed that if we came back to this part of the outer Banks we would book again 😀

We had an amazing time at Mad Macs. The house was great, clean and well stocked and we especially enjoyed the outdoor area. The mattresses are definitely due for an upgrade or need some kind of mattress topper.

The house accommodated our families perfectly. Something minor to note… the bedroom/bathroom photos on the website were not accurate. The photos showed 2 bedrooms sharing a Jack n jill full bath. We didn't have that. However, we had plenty of showers, so it was not an issue at all. The kids and adults all had a great time. Thank you!

The home was amazing and the walk to the beach was short, and on blacktop. The kitchen was completely stocked. The unit was very clean upon arrival. I would absolutely book again. If I could have changed anything, it would be the temperature of the pool. It was freezing. We spent no time in the pool due to this.

All beds are queens and the floor schematic is incorrect. It shows that all 4 queen bedrooms have access to the half baths. That is wrong because only 2 of the bedrooms have access. The basketball hoop is broke and even if it did work, you wouldn't have anywhere to play because you aren't allowed to park on the street. The upstairs pullout couch was also broken. The whole house is a little dated but overall we were pretty happy with our vacation. I don't know if we would stay here again just based on some of the people in our group not liking the beds.

We were a family of 13 and we enjoyed your home. There was plenty of room for everyone. The pool and hot tub were a hit. The lid to the hot tub has seen better days though. The welcome bag was very thoughtful. The walk to the beach was good for the teenagers who could come and go as they pleased. My adult son took up surf fishing for the first time and both he and his son caught a small fish. My husband and I are limited in our amount of walking but were able to leave the beach on our own when we had enough sun. The beach entry was a nice pathway with no steps as we have experienced in other beach entries. My only critique is that the step up to the kitchen was a surprise and I tripped twice carrying bags from the grocery store. Thank you for the use of your home.

Really liked the house. Close to the beach with a view of the beach. Close enough to all needs like grocery store and some food. Loved having a pool and hot tub. Plenty of refrigeration and the outdoor cabana bar was cool. Used the grill to cook out. I would stay here again if we come back.

We had a wonderful time staying here. House was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Bedrooms were a little small but you aren't there to stay in the room! There was plenty room to spread out for our teenagers and their friends. Pool was awesome to have and the hot tub was relaxing. I wold recommend this house to friends for sure. A short walk to the beach and lots of places to ride bikes and go on walks. Make sure you make reservations to eat out in advance since they get booked fast. We ended up cooking a lot at the house. Grill was brand new and super clean! The only downfall I would say for families with smaller children is that there are a lot of stairs outdoors and indoors.

Overall, this is a very nice property in a quite neighborhood. The listing is accurate and even came with a few things I don't recall seeing in the listing (two bikes, an inflatable baby pool, strollers, beach toys and a cart to help get stuff to the beach). My only complaint and it's out of everyone's control, is the beach. When high tide is in, you can't really use the beach. the waves come up to the bottom of the dunes. We had to adjust our beach time with the tides.

Lovely home for a family vacation
Our family enjoyed staying at Mad Mac this month. Layout was great for a large family, bedrooms all on the same floor, etc. easy walk to the beach,( we rented a golf cart to haul people and things though), and beautiful weather to enjoy the beach. 3 under 2, couldn’t find the baby gates, but management had someone bring new ones the next morning so safety wasn’t a concern.

Great first trip to OBX
Property met expectations. Kitchen is very well stocked except for washcloths and dishtowels. This was not listed on the email of what to bring, and I am not sure why they are not supplied. I sent an email to property manager asking for inventory list, but I did not get a response. This would be extremely helpful to guests because we brought many pool and sand toys, floats, etc which we did not need to bring. Great supply closet with beach chairs, games, toys. The two bicycles need replaced. Loved the volleyball court for evening games, but needs cleaned up. Excellent, quiet location! About 5 min walk to beach hauling all gear. Overall great stay! Would recommend!

I would suggest updating the cable boxes and remotes, several rooms did not work very well. The house itself was great; spacious, decent furniture and supplies in kitchen, great location including pool, hot tub, tiki bar and volleyball court. The house was not cleaned well prior to our arrival; visible clumps of hair in showers and on stairs, candy, wrappers and pieces of food under beds and dressers as well as in living areas. Outside wasn't cleaned either, small balloon pieces all over, bottle caps and items left in outside showers. Emails and calls to rental company were unreturned and took a few calls to get grill issue resolved during our stay. I would recommend the property to others but there are several other reviews about cleanliness which the company doesn't seem to be doing anything about. Homeowner should consider different management company.

The house was perfect for our large group. It was not luxurious, which is good when traveling with so many people and children. It had a wonderful backyard set up with the pool and tiki bar. It had plenty of seating for meal times for our large group. It was a short and easy walk to the beach, especially when hauling toys and chairs. The house was not well cleaned when we arrived. I actually cleaned my own bathroom floor because it was clear that it wasn't even swept out, let alone mopped. Also, the pool is not heated, which was a big downfall for us because we like to swim at night and it was too cold to do that. Overall, this was a great house for our group. The uncleanliness upon arrival wouldn't cause us to not rent this house again, but the unheated pool would.

Overall, the house worked well for our group. Plenty of room, especially in the kitchen area. Enough table seating for all at mealtime. Quick walk to beach. We got a lot of use our of the pool, hot tub and volleyball court. The cleaning drew did a good cursory cleaning, but never went outside. We found beer bottles, etc on decks, in outdoor showers, out at the volleyball court. The house really, really, needs a thorough cleaning - lamps were dusty, under the beds, furniture. The dishwasher backed up onto the floor. Guy came to fix and only poured in boiling water, so that worked for one day and overflowed again. Those were somewhat minor details that did not ruin our trip; we enjoyed the house and location!

We had a very good time. Some items on the property need to be removed or updated. The charcoal grill is like they have in parks, needs replaced. The house should probably have a dehumidifier, the Windows were wet on the inside overnight. The bathroom walls were wet after taking a shower, even though the fan was used. Two of us had to sleep on the couches in the room just off the living room. One thing easy to change is the towel arrangement. After one night we had to purchase more towels. We did not want to wash clothes all the time.

Pro's - Excellent location to the beach, plenty of room, awesome view, pool, hot tub, outdoor shower, washer/dryer, two kitchens, outdoor bar with refrigerator, ice machine. Con's - Property was not cleaned after the previous renters left and took 6 calls and 3 visits from the cleaners for it to be done properly. Landscaping is needed badly, outdoor bar not maintained, ants in the main kitchen, mattresses are very stiff. Overall a great time and stay. House is updated and very well maintained with the exception of a few areas.

We were very pleased with our stay in Corolla at the house, Mad Mac's. Beach access was very convenient and the house was nicely furnished and reasonably clean. I would recommend this house. The only slightly inconvenient aspect was that only 2 bedrooms had connecting half baths but overall it was not a problem even tho' there were 12 guests. There were 4 full baths. I would recommend to the cleaning staff that all furniture and pillows be vacuumed. There were dog hairs visible. If we are able to return to Corolla, we would consider this house again.

We had a great time and enjoyed the pool, tiki bar, outdoor showers and upper level porch. House was stocked with kitchen tools. Not a fancy house but it met all of our needs and was perfect for our group. The rental agency was extremely responsive when we called about a broken outdoor shower head (plumber was there within an hour!) Location was also great. A quiet area but easy to access whatever you need. Just took a few minutes to walk to the beach. My only small complaint was that I felt that some things were not cleaned well prior to our arrival (i.e. some hair in bathroom, cobwebs in ceiling fans, bathmats)...I'm being a bit nitpicky because overall the house was clean and this is more an issue of the cleaning agency not the house itself.

Super clean inside and out! Management was wonderful to work with. Kitchen was fully sticked. The best out of any house we have stayed at over the past 9 yrs. Very spacious. Even the bdrms on the same floor did not seem crowded and we cpuld not hear anyone else in their rooms. Very satisfied with the house and accommodations.
