I want to be fair and the house is decent, close to the beach entrance and the main area upstairs was a good place to gather. Hot tub is nice and on the top deck right off the living room/kitchen area. Kitchen was not well equipped, main table was sticky, peeling paint and in terrible condition and the sofa should be thrown out. Sliding door was almost impossible to open and close, fan over kitchen table was rusted through. Many of the fixtures are old and beat up and the pool is super tiny. Biggest issue was the A/C was not working on the top floor for the last couple of days. We called in and they sent a maintenance man fairly quickly but he really couldn't do anything. Next day the A/C company came out but said that the whole unit needed replaced. We were there in July with mid 90's and heat advisory with no A/C. Temp in the house was 80 degrees. Was told they would bring a portable A/C unit but it never came. I understand that this is an unforseen event but there should be better contingencies for your guests. No one ever followed up on this and really I feel bad as the next renters probably had to deal with this tood. Overall very dated house in a decent location, but no help when we needed it.

Rented this home for the number of beds it contained. The top bunk railing was loose and had electrical tape wrapped around the bedrail and bed frame. Extremely wobbly and I did not allow my child to sleep there. Other than this, the house was great. We had to get an air mattress to use.

Dolphin Watch is an awesome house, excellent location for beach access with an easy walk to your choice of 2 public beach accesses. This is our second stay here and one of our favorites. Nice upgrades include the top deck flooring with great porch furniture. New interior floors throughout. The two bedrooms with master beds were comfortable. The living room furniture is comfortable too. Only thing that would make it perfect would be kitchen sink sink stoppers to make washing dishes and counters easier (right now they just have drains to catch any food debris) and a few storage food containers for leftovers would be great. Not a big deal as you can bro those items with you. The dishwasher, washer and dryer all work great!

We chose this home for its location, four bedrooms, pool, and hot tub! The location had easy access to the beach and walkable to coffee shops, ice cream shops, and grocery store! It was well equipped for our family of nine! Only downside was our thoughts that it could have been cleaner! We had a wonderful week with perfect weather!

We loved the house and its location. But, upon arrival, I had to double clean due to Covid. It was not deep cleaned, as promised. The counters weren't wiped off and the bathrooms weren't cleaned. The floors were not swept.The dryer took forever to dry and the kitchen faucet leaked water. It seems the only thing the cleaners did was drop off clean linens. With Covid, this made me very nervous coming to a house that was not cleaned. After traveling 9.5 hours, cleaning twice was not on my list.

We enjoyed staying at your home. It was the perfect location and quiet at night. We had a family of 7 and 1 medium dog. It was perfect with extra space for others if needed.

The house was everything we expected! Beach access is closer then expected, location was perfect for my teens to walk to the park, food, arcade. Everything within a mile. The amazing hosts also let us use their bikes that were on location. The pool is small, but we still spent everyday in it and appreciated the previous review to bring pop up tarp. Definitely needed as the pool area has no shade. 10x10 tarp and we were set! The only negatives were the satellite was in and out, never worked in the king room on the main and maintenance was not able to help. Beyond that….amazing vacation & fully plan to book this house again or book again with shoreline! Great customer service

Our stay was fantastic.. the only reason I did not give an excellent rating was the floors were dirty when we arrived. The house needs some updating, some minor broken items i.e blinds, shower door. But again the location was fantastic, short walk to the beach, enjoyed staying by the pool, very quiet and relaxing, the hot tub was another bonus..had a lot of kitchen items. Check in process was spot on, able to get in on time, door is tricky but the instructions they sent were fantastic very detailed on all aspects of the rental, so enjoyed that we have rebooked for next year!!

Your friendly assistance when we needed to ask a few questions was a big help. Also your timely follow ups were a plus - not too many and not too few.
The view and location was ideal.The air conditioning was working properly throughout our stay - which is a big thing for me personally.
The only suggestion my family has to make (and probably because our stay comes at the end of the season) is that the sofa, chairs, bed covers and kitchen table (sticky) were not as clean as they should have been. The furniture was soiled with spots due to wear and tear for the season. I suggest new furniture purchases before the new summer season. Otherwise,I had no complaints and was happy through our week.

Overall we had a great family vacation. The house is in a great location that is close to a lot of things. The beach is within walking distance for those who are physically active. We had my parents with us so we would take them by car to the public access parking lot which helped some. There are multiple stairs to get to the beach which was difficult. They had to ask permission from the people staying at the house directly beside the public access if they could use their walk way which was through the sand. When we first arrived at the house there was a strong smell of animals. This is the first time we took our dogs with us on vacation so we did not know what to expect. I think the house could be a little cleaner. There are urine marks on the floor and on the couch. We sprayed the whole house with Lysol and Funkaway spray which did help. None of us were comfortable sitting directly on the couch so we used bed linen to cover the couch. This helped tremendously. Once we cleaned on our own and it smelled better it was a little more relaxing. There are a lot of stairs do consider this if you are talking older people with you. The kitchen was great and full y stocked with pots, pans and cookware. The washer snd dryer were very helpful. Dryer takes a little longer but this is expected. The vacuum on the second level was broke. The pool is small but served it's purpose. I would recommend taking blankets with you for your own comfort. Overall we had a great family vacation!

We loved the house! So close to the beach. It had all of our needs. Had a hiccup with the entry code getting in, we called the emergency number and they called back within 20 minutes with a new code. We decided on this last minute vacation and our first time renting from this company and would book again.

House was great. The great room/dining area was a great meeting point. The front porchdeck and hot tub was wonderful. The pool was the perfect size and depth to enjoy. We put a beach tent over the pool which made it much more enjoyable. Beach is close easy walk. Only downside to house and beach were stairs. If you have problem with stairs not the house or beach for you.

Toenail clippings in living room floor/floors in general not clean, living room couch dirty /stained, bedspreads not clean, beds on middle floor very uncomfortable, some kitchen items in cabinets wore out, coffee maker burner was almost completely burn up, kitchen table paint was coming off…therefore felt sticky and nasty. Positives - top deck was very nice where hot tub was. Hot tub was new and clean, pool was small but was clean and refreshing and the location was nice … but no ocean view as stated due to houses across the street.

The hardwood laminate and ceramic tile throughout kept cleanup simple. Kitchen had the basics needed for a family who doesn't need to cook anything fancy. Beds very comfortable. Some minor maintenance issues, but the two that we asked to have addressed were handled promptly and professionally. Would use for a winter rental again!

Experienced several maintenance issues … sheets not fitting beds, missing or burned out light bulbs, floors were dirty, non working outlet outside ground floor, broken trash can…..Easy stuff for maintenance to fix. Location was great. Easy near access to beach…. And lots of near ice cream!!

The property was just as listed, and beach access was great. There was plenty of room for the whole family and the kitchen was well stocked. The cleaning could have been a bit better as there was a great deal of food and dust under the sofa and chair in the living room, but other than that it was great. I would advise that anyone traveling with toddlers that the openings for the staircases are wider than a standard door frame as we brought baby gates, but they were too small for the opening, so we had to search for a wider gate in the surrounding areas and it was a challenge. We would stay here again for sure.

We were very impressed with our stay! The kitchen was very well stocked, much better than I anticipated. Location is great, short walk to the beach. Also having the private pool and the hot tub was perfect for the days we didn't want the sand. It was the perfect house and location for our 3 family vacation with 11 people total. This was the worst experience we have had in all the more than 40 years of vacationing!
• Delayed check in time; nearly 2 hours late. Since the cleaning staff of three people were there cleaning the house that had been trashed by the previous tenant, who stayed past the check out time. We had traveled more than 8 hours and were told that they had no idea when we would gain access to the house because of the condition of the house.
• No email or text was sent to inform us of the situation.
• Wet, sandy floors
• Broken handle on microwave
• Hundreds of dead bugs in light fixture in kitchen
• Black mold in faucet handle in 2nd primary King bedroom.
• Railings on bunk bed are not secure for a child and therefore couldn’t use this bedroom.
• Debris under bunk bed, used Q-tips, tissues and empty water bottles.
• Bedspreads stained with white substances, no evidence that they had been sanitized. Had to go out and buy bedcovers
• Front lawn turfed and left muddy, by previous tenants.
• Cigarette butts left in the sand near the outdoor shower, along with used lime wedges and shrimp shells.
• Questionable condition of the pool; had to be shocked multiple times.
• Questionable condition of the hot tub; had to be drained twice.
• Trash cans full, no room for our trash.

All of this made what should have been a lovely, relaxing vacation in OBX, into a nightmare, spending my first three days on the phone with Shoreline and writing emails, wasting my precious vacation time. It has cause anxiety and discourse in my family and I am at the very least disappointed in this rental and the service they offered. General Manager, Tammy and Ken the owner of the company we rude and shouted at me over the phone (so much for Southern charm). In the end they refunded me $152.00 quite an insult. I will never rent from this company again.

Great spot to spend with family and small kids
This property was in a great location and was well set up for our family. We liked the small pool which was nice for infants/toddlers or if you just wanted to cool down and the balconies were nice in the morning and evening. We loved the hot tub! Might have been nice to have a few more blankets so maybe bring some of your own if you know you like to have extra at night. It was also next to a great ice cream spot and they had a beach wagon and bikes there! All around great spot and perfect for a little family time on the outer banks.

Great Location, so much potential
This property is located minutes from the beach, can walk dog in great neighborhood, walking distance to restaurants and ice cream. Well stocked kitchen. With just a few changes, it really could b a great spot. Needs updated furniture and better mattresses in 2 of the 4 bedrooms. Needs new dryer as the one there stopped working. Cable didn't work for 24 hours. Office and maintenance communicated with us but made us feel like we were bothering them. Loved that it was pet friendly.

We loved this place despite having poor weather for the week. The place was roomy, clean and in a perfect location in the OBX. Close to the beach. Close to a coffee shop, cute art Shops, and best of all an ice cream shop! We’d go back if the opportunity arises.

Great Location
We enjoyed our stay at the Outer Banks. The house is conveniently located....but could stand to be updated. The carpeting was badly stained throughout the house, the furniture in the family room was also stained and one chair was broken and could not be used. Decor was very dated.
The kitchen table is large and roomy but extremely scratched up. Plan on waking up at the crack of dawn (every bedroom) because every window has cheap, paper thin, dollar store mini blinds. The house is very roomy and had perks of a small pool and hot tub. Also, not really sure why I had to pay a cleaning fee when I was expected to vacuum the house and ensure that all the kitchen items were cleaned and put away prior to leaving the property.??

The property has a great location, just across the street from public access to a very clean beach with pristine waters. It is a great way to be introduced to the Outer Banks.

Comfortable, enjoyable house
The house was clean and the check in process simple. The pool and hot tub were in perfect condition. The kitchen is ample and has all the necessary appliances plus some that you don't usually find in a weekly rental. Sheets and towels were packaged in sealed plastic bags. Loved the deck off the living room with the hot tub.

A Lovely Winter Stay
We spent two weeks at Dolphin Watch and were grateful for the spacious accomodations for our small group. The house had most everything we needed, was close to lots of amenities, and was an easy walk to the beach. Our young kids loved having the grassy area to play in. We planned this trip very last minute and everything went very smoothly with checking in. Thanks for a lovely two weeks!

We were looking for a change of scenery where we could take the family including our two dogs and work remotely (2 of us) and do online school (1 of us). This was the perfect spot. Great WiFi. Walks on the beach every morning and evening. Things to do close by for those not working or going to school. Lots of room to spread out for our crew of 5.

Cons: Mattresses were real hard & uncomfortable, minor upgrades needed to make property Great (wooden walkway from house to pool needs replacing, shower fixtures need replaced-moldy, comfy mattresses)

House needs some work
We had a lovely week but I was a bit disappointment by the condition of the house. The FR sofa with dirty, the exterior of the house has rusted nails all over, the grass was cut and piles of grass lay all over so we were unable to play in the grass. Otherwise we had a wonderful week!
